Proud to bring the TimeKeeper DS4 to market.
This is a timing gear set for the 6.5 and (6.2 conversions) with a DS4 electronic injection pump. Most 1994-2000 6.5 diesel trucks and vans are DS4. Check out the web site for more info.
If you have a DB2 equipped engine we have a gear set for you also, see the web site for info.
I hope you make more. Will want to add this on my CUCV
looks great Leroy. thanks for another great product, and a good explanatory video.
They are back! But I'm curious if it's worth the purchase.
Are you getting anymore aluminum radiators? It said your sold out? I was going buy one
Sir, who is casting these new blocks and heads for the P400??
I looked for this and it is discontinued! :(
Leroy, do you have any tips for starting a 6.2 liter 84 Chevy diesel that has been sitting for many years? I was thinking of putting some marvel mystery oil in through the glow plug openings and then using a large bar to rotate the engine. Would you recommend using a prelube pressurized canister to pump oil through it as well?
Thanks!
How do I know what pump I got and what pump should I have for my 6.5
I believe the correct term is gear drive lol
What is the usual time to replace this? I was thinking of doing this and the fluid dampener at same time.
Do what drives have inherent advantages over roller chain sets?
@@leroydiesel5647 I've heard gear drive negatives from years back, that they give a side or thrust load to the cam, and cause premature camshaft wear. Can you or anyone else confirm this as fact or fiction?
@@leroydiesel5647 That's good to know Leroy, cause I've always liked the design idea of a gear drive, and could never understand the reasoning of a side load. If it were true, I would think the frt cam brg would become the weak link, and not the cam.
@@leroydiesel5647 that was probably started by some fool that believed the 6.2 is a converted gas engine. I was ordering parts for my truck yesterday and another customer overheard my conversion with the parts guy and uttered that stupidity. Too many keyboard mechanics on all the 6.2/6.5 sites with false information, I'm ordering this gearset.
I have heard these are not as good (stregth- longevity) as chain...have you used and or know of these to any extent...? I know that set up is me precise......G
Leroy, I am not sure how far a chain will get out of spec vs a gear drive. But I do know that my 1982 GMC Sierra Classic C1500 6.2L Diesel that I bought new and before I drove it off the lot I stuck a ball bearing in the egr hose at the egr and the truck has 480,348 miles on it and all I have done was have Northeast Diesel service r&r the ip and two glow plug controllers, three sets of glow plugs, oil + filter changes at 3,000 miles or 90 days which ever came first and I use delo 400 15w 40 diesel oil.The batteries have been changed 8 times and I had the batteries matched. I changed the fuel filters twice a year and I drive this truck daily and it has the same injection sound today as it did the first day I drove it home. I can't brag on the 700r4 trans.
Michael McGrew let’s see this beast!
Will these gears work on a 89 Chevrolet 6.2 j model
They would. I don't make the gear sets anymore though.
@@leroydiesel5647 I'll have to research I see if they're available
how does it impact sound? i have heard them on gas V8 and they scream like a supercharger.
Why are the gears different sizes????
Like a raddle
Have a funny noise when pushing the fuel
Are these gears made in America or a foreign company Why is the Cam gear a different color metal If it's Made in the USA I might buy If you don't answer I'll know It's foreign junk
