That tools list was VERY VERY helpful! Thank you for this How To, my son and I will build memories from our Hot Wheels upgrades! We already “collect “ them together, this will be a great addition to our hobby.
Very interesting and very helpful. I would just add one thing. If you’re going to be doing this quite a bit, it might be worth investing in a small light duty drill press. Something from Amazon or HF would work. It would give you a bit more control
Hey nice video first video that i see more helpful without too many tools to use but i got a question hope that u can answer it mmm i got the tap and drill set but I dont know what size is the 2-56 into m size the tao drill sizes comes from m3 to m8
i get mine at ababa/QA. i use #0 metal screws with pan heads or countersunk heads depending on which ends up being more hidden, but thats for the RC micros.
I bought a donor car for the wheels. Any easy 99¢. But many vendors sell custom aluminum wheels. Many people swap the Real Rider wheels from the car culture cars that are $5.
PERFECT! Finally an informative, and to the point video without all the ghetto effects and horrible music. THANK YOU sir!
Your welcome. Glad it was helpful.

I'm glad the tool list helped. There may be other bit sizes that might work also. This is just what I used. Have fun.

Hot wheels should make their cars with screws not rivets.

Are we not going to talk about the ghost moving that silver Mustang
Great tutorial! Do you have a link online for where you get the screws from?

Great video!
Thank you for the upload!
Have good one. Take care! ;)
Thank you
Would the drill bit also open up a hot wheels with metal base?
Hi Rodrigo. I would think so, the rivets look the same. I haven't drilled a metal based car yet. Might just dull the bit more.
Ok thanks for the info👍
you'll have to use something a bit bigger to cut off the rivet lip. i use a 7/64" for the micros
Can you use a drill to add threads in the post's holes for the screws?
No, I don't think so. You're going to have to buy a tap. I got mine from Harbor Frights.
@@braydenewing5269 Thanks
@@gabbytimpug8399 No problem.
not with 2-56. thats 56 threads per inch
💯👍👍👍👍👍
Informative vid, nicely done
Thank you
I wish they would use small screws instead of self tappins would make wheels swapping a lot easier and a lot faster just my idea..
they do that via the cheapest way possible and rivet posts are what they use
best of all
You should get better wheels an tires cuz them are junk.but nice job 🍻
I'm accepting real rider set donations...
i don't see ANY WHEELS on yours
Where should I buy wheels
I bought a donor car for the wheels. Any easy 99¢. But many vendors sell custom aluminum wheels. Many people swap the Real Rider wheels from the car culture cars that are $5.
What tap set?
Mine is from drill america. POU2-56. 1 set with #51 drill hs plug tap.
well if you are using 2-56 screws then get a 2-56 tap
use a 2-56 tap for a 2-56 screw
