I know this isn't a "build" video, and I suck at tutorials which is why I generally don't do them lol. So this may not be your ideal video, and I completely understand.

Thankyou Keith for the in-depth tutorial. It's easy to overlook some of the details regarding wheel swaps resulting in frustration at shitty fitment

Great video Keith thanks a bunch man for all your help with the hobby ik ow it's not something you normally do but do you know a way to do a drift stance with tubes instead of just bending the axel like all the vids I can find look forward to the next one mate

@@festaawsome6297 I do not know, sorry. I would think you could still bend the ends of the tubes once the wheels are glued in. The brass is very pliable

I was determined to figure this stuff out by myself, but a video like this would have saved me a few months of work--good thing the trial and error was fun. One slight "improvement" I might suggest is: If the axle stubs reach fairly close to the middle of the brass axle tube, only one notch needs to be cut in the center. Liquid (not gel) superglue (cyanoacrylate) will flow freely into the tube through the notch and lock the axles tight. I usually don't even have any nubs/bumps of excess glue to trim off the axle tube afterwards.
Keep doing tutorials. We can all learn something new, especially when there are many ways to accomplish the same goal. You might help someone on a tight budget solve a problem without just throwing money at it. Or inspire someone to take new chances on their builds.
BTW, I read somewhere that the arched plastic or metal on the chassis behind the wheels on Hot Wheels cars is to keep the axles from getting deformed when little kids push down too hard on their cars. It limits how far the axles can be bent. Makes sense to me. I pretty much always get rid of it using my belt sander.

Awesome...I sometimes find new collectors in the stores and once talking end up at customs and how to what to use and so on ....I usually just send them to TH-cam it's alot easier and hand them one of my own work RAOK customs I figure it gives them a visual goal. I've sold some pieces online but it's more of a satisfaction to give them away. Thanks for helping everyone better understand the amount of effort that goes into custom pieces.

We need more of these using American castings. Seems like the others have gone the JDM-route and high end customizations that simple mods like this are forgotten for the beginners. Could you one day to a paint comparison of a raw casting? One fresh out of the stripper (washed and dried naturally), another that has been given the scotch brute, wire wheel treatment only and the last fully sanded & polished? Lots of newbies need to see the difference a little effort makes.

Great video. Honestly, video length isn't much of an issue when the topic is covered the whole time. When there's lots of droning babble like a high school English teacher, it gets....uninteresting. NOT SO here.
Tutorials are nice, because it's a good reference source. Someone can always go back to it and watch over and over. Easier to find also, rather than trying to find a specific episode that had the how-to but was posted months or even years ago. Please do more of these when possible.
Ok, need coffee. I'll shut up now.
