- With the release of Sonic Origins this month, I thought it would be great to reflect on the time where I played every game, to be remastered, with this challenge. Consider this the Sonic Origins Collection Edition of WITHOUT Defeating a Badnik.

"Why didn't you play all of the remasters of the games?" That would require me to re-record every single video and there's no official Sonic 3 & Knuckles remaster available right now. Sonic 3 AIR is fan made, so there is the possibility that the official remaster will have some differences.

Even in the beginning too, when he was the Wolfhog.
Chickens can fly/glide and squirrels can survive terminal velocity im sure they’ll be fine
@@jamesium2734 look up the tale of Shortflight the rooster. It's quite funny if you can get past the whole borderline animal cruelty thing.
This is still impressive you know all the badnick names, but playing this way you really get to know them. I would think Dylan is the badnick kind of guy with one of his favs being motobug but you ture badnick appreciation, rock on Frank.

Yeah, but I managed to remember most of them, through repetition. Ask me which game the Masher and Chopper belongs to and I still wont remember.

Sonic CD also reminded us of how bad Wacky Workbench Zone is.
I never found an update on this, so Imma just ask it here: how come you changed your name from Knuckles Channel 3 and Knuckles? Was it copyright or personal preference? I'm not mad about it, but simply curious since I watched the channel a while back, and when I came back, the name changed.
EDIT: I love how you went through the effort of finding an obscure clip from TNA for a 5 second joke that only nerds like me will get. Love your dedication, man.
Heads up. This might be a bit of a long read.
The new name came from not wanting to be attached to a character anymore and wanting a brand name I can call my own. Long story short, I wanted to branch out of just making Sonic content, due to severe burn out. There were times where it forced me to make videos I didn't want to make. It's pretty easy to tell which ones were made where I was just phoning it in. So I quickly rebranded the channel in January, but did such a poor job of explaining it, it started to hurt the channel. Many took the message the wrong way and assumed I hated the series now, when I only needed a break. This is, currently, my only source of income, so it wasn't good to have that resentment from my viewers. With the hype of the Sonic 2 movie and the fact that something needed to be done right now, I did a bit of damage control. Basically, made Sonic content for 2 months. Now, I'm ready to get back to what I planned in the rebrand video, which is now unlisted. Sonic content will still be around, but I also want to be happy as a content creator.

Something I noticed watching a before you buy video. There is an actual Pacifist challenge, It might be cool if (with Origins coming out) seeing where these challenges are and possibly doing a "Offical" version keeping these versions as the rule set is honestly awesome but would be interesting to see if this challenge is in CD as that is the only one of the origins that is impossible. Still awesome to watch

Yeah. Any of the ones in the sky or water would need those to not be unalived.
@@GottaBeFrank except the seals and birds, but I mean in actual good Eggman continuity. Also I feel like even though CD was a bust, it doesn't matter as much because they were seeds.

Can't Wait For Sonic Origins To Come!
The best part about Sonic Origins is that you'll be able to play Sonic CD as Knuckles officially for the first time, meaning an easier way to not defeat Badniks.
Knuckles is not playable in Sonic CD. Famitsu posted an interview a few weeks back, confirming it.
@@GottaBeFrank honestly, it kind of makes sense that he isnt in it, since he would break the verticality of the levels and make them even easier than tails did in the mobile remaster. However i have no doubt that people will mod him in day one
I believe he is modded in the old steam release. I say old now because it has been delisted.

There was a glitch that happened to me in the Bossfight of sonic CD where I did the super peel out and the spikes went off screen so I didn’t have to worry about losing my rings except for the bomb but I had a super ability for a while and I was able to beat the boss

Something that the"No badnicks" videos made me realize how O actually didn't know the name of any badnick
We don't see many of them in side games, so some of the names aren't as known.
I feel like there have been points where Sonic murdered an animal stuck inside a badnik while speeding.
for me the hotarus in sonic CD are like a mini boss

To answer the question of the video title. No, Act 1 bosses of 3 & Knuckles are technically Badniks.
I did say I needed to go through bosses and mini bosses to make progress. Without that, it would be done at act 1, which is ridiculous.
One thing i'm curious about is would it be possible to beat a characters story in SA1 without destroying a badnik in the action stages? a challenge like that in SA1 would require the rules to not be in effect in the adventure fields and in regards to Gamma ignored for his bosses because of reasons

I do think you should've done sonic 3 with sonic + tails. I did and is actually not too bad. The sonic 3 levels are rough, with 4 of them being on par with metropolis zone, but after that it's pretty normal.
Looking back, it was smart not to bring Tails along. Carnival Night would have been nearly impossible.
@@GottaBeFrank actually it's one of the easier zones. Act 1 took like 5 minutes, and act 2 was a bit harder, but as long as you don't go near many bats and use super sonic to skip a portion it's not that bad.
Marble garden, launch base, and hydrocity are much harder.
I think Mushroom Hill would be the dead end for me. There were so many points where I could knock out a clucker or whatever they're called.
@@GottaBeFrank fair enough. I learned you can spindash under them when they aren't blowing and tails would follow you thank goodness. Once you're past them their wind won't get you.
@@GottaBeFrank also for some reason ducking in front of the cluckers often stopped them from blowing sonic, which is really weird.

Origins? Yes. Despite my issues with it, I think it'll be a solid release. Frontiers? Not so much. I want to see more of the game and I hope it changes my mind.

Yes. Sonic CD released on PC 3 years after the Sonic CD release. It's also the same version used in the Sonic Gems Collection. It has less slowdown than the original and has better looking cutscenes, but is still the exact same game.

I never said I was done with Sonic, I just wanted to branch out. Rebranding has made making videos far more enjoyable because I wasn't locked into one series, which led to the massive burnout I was feeling at the end of last year. This year, I've made Sonic videos, but I've also made videos on Mega Man, Mario, and even Pokémon. The reception and viewership vary with those videos, but I can honestly say that the rebrand was worth it and I've started to really enjoy content creation again.
