What is the point of a lap time comparing an mx5 to much more powerful cars ?

It's not a comparison, it just takes the closest times from previous episodes. The list is far from complete, there will be other cars much closer

It should be judged as which car is the most fun to drive on the track. If the track has more curves than straights the Miata will kick ass in the fun department & teach you much quicker what its limits are.
