Heck of a roundup… I appreciate you braving this cold weather to make this shooting video. I truly appreciate everything that you do, and also greatly appreciate your further thought’s on the Apache. I was already leaning towards going with a Cheely E2 and having the grip safety pinned, along with adding Atlas shielded ambi-safety, then having it PVD coated to match. I paid $3,600 for the Apache without SRO and figured with the Cheely E2 l, the total cost would put me in the same price bracket as the Staccato XC without Optic.
I hope so, I think they resolved the extractor issues they had in early models, but I have also seen evidence of QC issues, tooling marks etc. I ordered mine through Kovert, so I am really hoping they will go through the pistols and QC them as well. I have a Cheely E2 on the way along with Atlas sheielded ambi-safeties, Atlas 126mm and 140mm magazines, and Atlas optic plate for my Holosun 507 GR competition..: I am really looking to get the Cheely E2 blended and fitted along with the Atlas Shielded ambi- safeties, then hoping to get them both PVD coated to match the grip with slide and frame, and safeties with original safeties… maybe even the magazine baseplates to match the Safeties and trigger as well. Think you could give me a good quote and get it done?
Nice to see straight talk from someone dedicated to double stacks. You’ve seen the best, worst and everything in between. Pleased with my Apache and Watchtower has been first class to work with. Cool to see a company’s first offering rank in this class of pistols 🤘🏼
Absolutely love your channel. Keep up with the amazing content and can’t wait to muster up the courage to send you my STI DVC Tactical for some upgrades.
Nice to see this round up and appreciate the feedback. Just placed a deposit on an Apache, special version from another vendor with an aluminum grip. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I was very impressed with what I saw from Watchtower at SHOT.
As always awesome video. I agree the new Apache looks better with your grip on it. Can't wait to see your Omen when it comes out. I do like to the PVD on the Apache. I would love to have my XC PVD that way. In comparison I believe the Erebus, your XC, Apache, and Pitviper all shoot the flattest.
Great video, i have ordered the Apatche, i own the Nighthawk, and the Staccato, i was wondering if you have tried or handled the LEGION PRECISION WEAPON SYSTEMS Chiraq 2011, if not can you try it and post it. Your Chanelle even it is relatively new, it has helped me significantly more than any other gun Chanelle regarding the 2011 style hand guns. Your tutorials and Staccato break down videos are the ones i used while i did my Staccato upgrades. Thank you for your honesty and doing the comparisons that we are looking for.
Awesome video. Probably your best to date. Once you’re ready to swap out that EVO grip on your nemesis, I’ll gladly take it off your hands. This way I can send my XC in for the grip, trigger, and atlas safeties. Atlas will be offering their Alpha grip for sale later this year for Staccato patterned frames
One thing that is interesting to me is in the higher end models the XC moves very quickly in the secondary market for generally about original cost. The even higher end Atlas, etc., just don’t move the same. Obviously there’sa difference between 4500ish and 6kish plus.
The 2 Atlas and the TRS comp ejected on the very same arc and line every time. It indicates a perfectly tuned loading and extracting system. The Apache was far more scattered in the ejection pattern. That's about $40,000 sitting on that table. Damn, I need to move next door! I will be extremely interested to see what Skip can do with the Omen and its speed.
my erebus has some issues at first but after thorough cleaning, the 2nd range trip is smooth as heck. I guess it just need some break in. erebus Hands down the best handgun I’ve ever shot and best firearm I’ve owned.
Thanks for braving the cold to bring us this video. I agree, the Apache's grip seems a little out of place. I'm not saying they were cutting corners, but I'm not defending them, either. Do you think we are at the point that there are just so many good grip options or preferences that shooters in this price tier are just gonna upgrade anyways? I guess I'm just looking for a practical perspective.
I have a 2019 staccato p and love that gun. It’s the only 2011 I’ve ever shot, but today I got a xc and 😮 I hear people say atlas makes a nicer gun then the xc, but is it on the fit and finish only. I can’t imagine anything shooting flatter than an xc.
I think It doesn't have a metal grip because it's not in that 4500 price range. It actually retails for 3599. That's a crazy value. Even if you get a metal grip, it comes in way under even the XC, which has a polymer grip.
@2ANLA I think the Erebus is rather ugly as well… it is a brilliant shooter, but Atlas needs to do something about the lines on that compensator. It looks like a complete after thought, and is like an ugly nose on a bad ass chicka. For $7-8K pistols, I think Atlas needs to step it up a notch… I am really liking the lines in that new Atlas EOS Commander length pistol though! I am torn between it and that Combat Precision M5-SS Kovert Edition with the Chunk port compensator. I just wish they would have used the Cheely E2 Grip frame over the L2…. but that is more of a personal preference thing.
New isn’t bad I appreciate it. I actually did a review awhile back if u look through the old videos but could always have something new if a customer sends one in. Www.skipsguns.com

When you buy the top-tier 2011s you shouldn't be spending all that extra money for grips, ambidextrous safeties, optics cut, etc. That's why Staccato, Nighthawk and others just fall short of the Atlas. Owning all of these brands I'd had to rank Atlas on top. Honorable mention to Brazo's Custom pistols. Great video. Fun. Thanks.
You must have a death grip on those, the guns rise less than I see on other videos, and less than mine when I shoot them. Don’t have my Apache in yet, but to me the XC is flatter, softer and faster than even the Erebus

That’s not cool to shoot that Erebus which was a customer’s gun that was sent into you do do some pvd work. You didn’t even ask him permission to shoot his gun for your video. He has it tuned for a specific load & probably the reason it jammed.
Just as stated to him I have 2 here and I’m guessing the second was who gave permission so as I stated I made a mistake and since trust was broken offer a full refund and return of the pistol.
