As a boy I was told off because I tried to recreate Houseparty at home and kept ringing the front door bell.

I always imagine someone ringing the bell and the ladies chatting know who it is and don’t like her and don’t want her to join. So they are ignoring the door.

I once had that Houseparty theme tune, this was in the 1970’s when times were good, I left this all behind when I moved out of Essex in 1983, this and lots of other old theme tunes were all lost forever.

Difference being that majority of women on Houseparty were experts in their field. Trust me, some did have their moments talking about personal relationships & it got quite intense.

I remember this as a child, it looks so amateurish now! How funny the women talking about spoilt children and all of them saying the cure is to mete out physical violence to the child! How times have changed. Loved the Oxfam advert that followed with dear old John Le Mesurier - that suit he's wearing was never made to measure, at least not for him - he looks like a tramp God love him!
