Gosh, this brings back memories of childhood, or being off sick from Primary School. Watched it with my late mum, and always thought how glam they all were.

I used to love house party! Brings back memories of my mum 👩
I seem to remember Meridian Broadcasting [As it was called then] had thier own version of Houseparty from 1993. I seem to remember Lucy passed away very young. Such happy times!
@@not_georgiaht Thank You. Since I typed to you yesterday I believe Vivian"s Mum might have been one of my Mother"s clients. My late Mother Ivy was a dressmaker. Have a great day. Thanks for the memories.
Yes I would guess that the studio space was then required for TVS' productions once Southern had ended alas. I presume that this was recorded at their main-then-Television Centre at Northam in Southampton at the time; which I know sadly is not there now then. Thank you of course anyway!
Daphne Lee is clearly a cut above class-wise amongst the Houseparty ladies. Especially noticeable with Viviane: when quoting the price of a bottle of whiskey, she drops the 's' in pounds - dead give away!
Interested how you tracked down the date of Lucy's passing. I think she lived near Hurstpierpoint (or Hassocks?) in Sussex. I think she had a daughter also called Lucy, and two sons? Is there a grave somewhere?
There was a very rough script and the topics were pre-agreed but mostly ad libbed. The point was that you were meant to feel you were dropping in on a friends conversation.
@ 0:40. I’m laughing to pieces. Did that posh woman say ‘it was pathetic to see him’ in relation to her injured son trying to eat a waffle? It’s less ‘House Party’ and more ‘Cat House’
Yes she did 🙂 Bear in mind, though, that 'pathetic' had an older meaning that she was probably using. It meant someone who aroused pity in someone else because of their vulnerability. To say someone looked pathetic means you feel sympathy for their bad situation or bearing.

Yep, I'm exactly the same. 👍

No messing about, no introductions, straight into the harrowing injury chit chat
It grabbed my attention
I'm still not sure what had happened to her son.
@@naysmith5272 At an fairly educated guess, he was probably born with a severe cleft palate?
I was born at odstock hospital then had a terrible accident when I was eight in 1979. They were great.
My late Mum loved Houseparty.
Remember this show, better version of loose women

Sylvia was always my favourite Houseparty lady.

Lucy Morgan, the lady in the middle of the three ladies shown at the beginning, sadly died 3 years later of a brain tumour.

£5.50 for Baileys in 1981 !
And it was creamier then.
The taste now is horrible.
often wondered if it was scripted or they made it up as they went along. They do chat about some very personal details.

What the ‘View’ should have been.

Where's Bunty?
Check out "Cumberland Housewife Waffle" for the uncensored version.
I did but honestly, I didn't find it funny.
Ahhh Johnny Monroe
@@londonlady1966Yes you’d need to have an understanding of comedy to find it funny.
I do. Comedy is subjective. Patronizing git. @@xr6lad
