      The air filters I can deal with. The battery location is the real crime with these bikes. It's lithium, it weighs all of a couple pounds, and it's *the* most-accessed internal component on any bike. Put it under the seat!

      yah, its a bit of a joke, just home from the idbdr, had to clean filter 2 times because of so much dust and it really %*#$# me off that if honda is selling this as an off road adventure bike then for god's sake make better filters and far easier to get at when on the trail around camp. these filters and the system is meant for a street bike, get serious.

      I am going to try it, I just turned over 16k miles at the Swinging Bridges Ride in St Claire, mo, over the weekend.. it was really dusty, and it seems the AT is struggling to breath a little. How many miles did yours have?

      @@WOODZMAN Thanks, I just turned 16K during the Swinging Bridges Ride 2021 last weekend. Was a really dusty Saturday, and I took a bath in the wide water crossing. The AT seemed a bit sluggish that night on the way to the Red Roof. Everything seems full of dust. My turn signal switch is gritty and stiff, I cleaned it out best i could, didn't really help. My ABS light isn't coming on all the time either. Sometimes, I'm not able to shut it off, because there is no light. Got a fix for that?? Haha.

    • @WOODZMAN

    Thx so much for the vid. I was considering the AT as next mc, but seeing this it'll be better to stay with my actual trail (*1* screw to access air filter+battery...). Disassembling half of the mc after an offroad training weekend or a hard day in feschfesch only to clean the filter is ridiculous.
    I wonder if it's possible to replace some of the bolts with Dzus fasteners?

    I recommend to put some grease on it fits to the air cleaner box, other wise After market air filter makes engine life shorter.
    Also you must check that air filter every 1000miles make sure it's oiled and wet.
    That why I keep OEM air filter all that time.

    Great video and kind of an eye opener too. Really a shame Honda could not have come up with a smarter design for maintenance items. Sorry ask if you answered this but I didn't notice if this was before or after your crash bars were installed but will the side panels still come off without having to remove that as well?

    • @WOODZMAN

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Twin Air makes actual oil for them but I always use just regular engine oil.
      I put them in a ziploc bag put in some oil and make sure the filter is covered good then just squeeze out the extra oil. Then I take a towel and make sure all the oil is off the filter. You don’t want it saturated, just have oil on it.
