Hello from Cajun South Louisiana! Hubby and I bought our OBW 18 months ago but have yet to outfit for camping…thanks for the insight! We are planning our first trip up in the Arkansas Ozarks!

That's awesome and hello from San Francisco CA! You guys will love camping with it👍🏽 If you guys don't have camping gear yet, I also made a video on our whole entire OBW dispersed car camping set up! A simple set up that turned our car into "Hotel Outback." 🙂

I traveled up there a few summers ago. Usall Rd was somethin else even in the dry summer. male sure your car has clearance and maybe even AWD. I have no idea how that little Honda civic made it in there. I almost got stuck on that beach, I had to kick it into AWD to crawl out! The Shady Dell trail is definitely worth it though. The coastal views from atop the mountain are just spectacular!!! I'll check out more of your vids "Like"

Thank you! We also had no idea how that civic made it there let alone camp out on the beach next to us in the sand! I recently just went here again during the heavy rains and it definitely changed the trail to the point where I know for sure my Subaru wouldn't have made it but only due to ground clearance. Luckily we took our Ford Raptor this time around and we're lucky we did. Some parts were so wet and muddy, the truck started sliding towards the wall on certain downhill sections. I'll be posting that video soon👍🏽

How did your Subaru do on the sand? Any issues?

It did pretty well on sand for us. We did air down to about 20 psi and turned the Xmode 1 Sand/Dirt on and we got through no problems. If we would have gotten stuck, I would probably air down a little more and try the Xmode 2 Deep Sand/Mud mode but it wasn't necessary for this trip. 👍🏽
This place is different during the rainy season though, so if you come during the rain, the trail could be difficult for this car. I just got back from this place in March this month and luckily, we took our Ford Raptor because in my opinion, it would have been really hard for a stock Subaru Outback Wilderness just because of how muddy the trail gets. During the dry season, this trail is easy enough for a honda civic 👍🏽
