Well.... To all emergency room doctors: You have no idea how much affects them, ( Patients with bipolar disorder), when you don't seem to take them seriously. It can be tell by the way you doctors behave, even when a patient's visit is due to a physical complaint. When a triage nurse asks about conditions & medications, the patient tells it like it is. I'm sure a lot of emergency room doctors understand the situation but this is for those who don't. Patients suffering from bipolar disorder or any other mental disorder have to inform about their conditions & all medicatios , but I'm sure there are times they preffer to stay at home and wait until they can go ahead and visit their primary doctors, even when in pain, just to avoid the uneasy situation at the ER.
Hey Doc thanks for these videos. I'm a patient, but love learning and have read the Kaplan Book 10th edition etc.. I'm on Zyprexa 7.5 mg at night, Suboxone 10mg throughout the day divided, Newly added Lithium (only 300 mg at bedtime, since the doc left it up to me to see how it would be tolerated after a while not taking it - about a year anyway), As well as clonazepam 1.5 per day (mg) and Neurontin 1800 per day. When I took my Zyprexa + Lithium last night I was getting too cold/too hot (could have just been the air conditioning, im not sure), most trouble I was having my breathing stop when falling asleep, and would gasp for air and jerk awake. This happened for like 4 hours after taking the doses of the two meds. Is there some kind of potentiation happening?
I am a pre-medicine student with a goal to become an emergency psychiatrist, I find your videos extremely helpful and informative.
any update? :D
did you become a med student ?))
I'm an mphil clinical psychology student. I find your videos very useful
