My challenge lies in my dogs Vet working alongside me to help him transition from insulin to a natural product. She doesnt care for the fact that I am feeding him a raw diet and would like very much to have him on a prescription dog food, which I respectfully declined because I honestly feel thats what helped to bring him to where he is today. Bottom line, I feel that anything that I want to do naturally with my dog is something I must do alone with my own research as I have no holistic Vets near me. Its very frustrating for me at times. Thank you for your video!
This is true for 90% of dog owners wanting more than drugs and bills and still getting poor health from thier furry companions. Stay forthright to that challenge, I'm here to help. You are 100% right to transition your dog to raw when faced with diabetes. Thank you for saying so. Until we wake up to western medicine built on a system of sickness for profit rulled by big pharma, nothing will change. As a first lady once said: Just say NO.

This is great! Lizzie was diagnosed last November. We already switched her to a raw diet. Her eyes just started changing. I have her carnosine and X39 stem cell activation patches. It does help. But the eyes I am worried about.
Yes, it's a problem with few answers. You may need to talk with eye specialists at some stage about cataract removal and replacement with artificial lenses.
My dog is 12 pounds. She has been Diabetic for 2 years. She is on Trujeo Human Insulin and gets one shot 12 units once a day and her blood work is perfect.
Hi Dan, I love your videos, thank you so much for the information. My 6 year old lab was just diagnosed with diabetes and he is currently in the hospital with ketoacidosis. I’m scared and want to do my best so he gets better. Now my first concern is his diet. I was prescribe royal canine diet food but I prefer making homemade food for him and just a little confused when you said avoid the prescription diet and give homemade food instead. Please advice what is best to feed my dog. Thank you so much and hope to hear back
He needs proper nutrition, not Royal canine! A diabetic dog must have a diet that is high in protein and very low in carbs, medium fats. A raw food diet is best but you can also feed a cooked food diet and there's a high protein, very low carb kibble now available from Ketona: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble Or you can sign up to my One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ where I can help you with a plan going forward.
thank you for the helpful video ! my dog is 13 she's a shih tzu . she just got diagnosed with diabetes. Im giving her two shots a day 12 hours apart. She's very picky and never liked dog food. I feed her ground turkey , sometimes brown rice, some egg white here and there. for veggies I've been feeding her cauliflower. Any more recommendations on food would be greatly appreciated. thank you
Keep all carbs, sugars, vaccines, drugs away from the dog. Feed meat proteins, veg, canned sardines (in water), eggs and part cooked and blended veg. A raw food diet is best, think about feeding Steves real food. Give probiotics, SBO Probiotics - amzn.to/3yoURqU Start small and slow.
Here's two I can think of: Eyebright Extract - amzn.to/3KNF8ac Dr. Mercola, Eye Support, For Cats and Dogs - amzn.to/3KNag9D otherwise link in extra info area (see more) under video.
i love your video Dan, but my 9 year old Collie/lurcher cross was brought up on a high protein low carb diet. mostly raw and all high human quality sometimes organic. , she started sleeping and not eating. shes ok now but on insulin. i want to feed her as well as i can and keep her with me for a long time xx

I have a free guide but it's general not specific to raw food. The best bet is my Feed Your Dog Better ebook. In the ebook is the raw food diet in full, everything you need to know. healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
Hi Andrea, your other comment does not show up for some reason. The raw diet is not diabetes specific but no matter, it's still works on diabetes. BTW have zero carbs, sugars in the diet.
You mentioned there would be dosing instructions on the bottle for primilix for coming off of insulin while gradually adding the supplement. I didn’t see anything of that kind on the bottle or on their website.
@@Stemcellactivationpatches2023 If you keep monitoring blood glucose, the idea is, as you said, to wean down the insulin use while giving the Primalix. This is all case by case and you'll have to try it and see if minimal insulin is still needed or none can be attained and still keep the blood sugars low. The diet will need to be strict, zero carbs, no additives and a fresh food diet.
Dan, just read your book. My 10 year old dog has just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I want to try the raw meat diet and Primalix supplements before turning to insulin. What is the best feed schedule since we have not started insulin. Considering once a day since bone requires longer to digest. Also, what are your thoughts on “Blood Sugar Gold” supplement
Hey Mr.Scott..Got my bottles of Primalex today..I used one dosage of it, in combination with 3 units of insulin as suggested by my Vet..What I would like to know now is, how long do I have to wait til I noticed when the results of the Primalex.??..Her Glucose hasn't dropped today as it does usually with insulin injections.
Hello my 8 year dog been diagnosed on Thursday . We payed almost 2K for her ‘ & now the vet is saying they want her hospitalize for another 2-3 days . Because her level was up 700 . But even then doesn’t know if they can get her better . Suggested euthanasia. But I can’t let go . I have no idea what to do , she won’t eat anymore .
Start with bone broth: amzn.to/38AZ3uX for nutrients. Then look at a fresh food only diet, so that's eggs, meats, canned sardines, green tripe, veg etc NO carbs, no sugars or fruit.. or kibble. Fresh foods, no carbs will bring those numbers down, then keep insulin going after the meals to balance out blood sugars. Yes it's tricky but this is a start.
@@DanScott1 Thanks for bringing this up. Our diabetic dog is starting to have a hard time seeing and getting the cloudy eyes. Someone suggested fresh blueberries. We already went to a homemade dinner. Eggs for breakfast, low fat ground turkey with carrots, green beans, and cottage cheese. So you would suggest getting rid of the blueberries? We were having a hard time at first keeping the insulin working for a full 12 hours, until we got rid of his morning dental treat and kibble.
@@JamieTheBangles11Fan Keep carbs very low, just fresh foods and bluberries are ok. Things like raw eggs, sardines are great for eye health. Good day thanks so much I just found out that my dog as Diabetic today i started with the injection today but his very very weak can't eat or take water please what can I do first for him to be able to eat and walk
Plenty to drink. diet must be fresh foods not kibbles. So raw eggs, canned sardines, meats, part cooked and blended veggies. Try some bone broth to get him eating. What country are you in?
Outside of changing the diet (we just recently got rid of the kibble our dog was on) if you were to suggest getting one supplement for our diabetic dog, would it be Gymena Sylvestra?
Yes that helps. Here's some more ides: Diabetes: Functional foods and supplements dogs with diabetes can benefit from. Healthy fats to balance sugar and slow insulin release, low glycemic vegetables, pancreatic glandulars, gymnema, ocotea oil, standard process (SP) Diaplex Omega 3's - Safe Sea (Ahi flower oil with Green Lipped Mussel Oil): amzn.to/3Yx9Z10 Standard Process Diaplex (blood sugar balance)- amzn.to/3RKEZu6 Ocotea oil - amzn.to/4eGemjt (1 drop in tsp olive oil) Gymnema Sylvestra - amzn.to/4cBfWl0 (helps normalize plasma glucose and mediating insulin secretion) 1/4tsp large dog, 1/8th tsp med dog, 1/16tsp small dog Pancreatic glandulars - Beef pancreas: amzn.to/4eIUpbS 1 cap daily in food Blood glucose Monitoring: Metene TD-4116 - amzn.to/3RM6Bim
Gymnema is a great idea. Give daily but as to the amount, refer to the product and base it on weight of human at 150lb, so if your dog is 50lb that would be a 1/3rd serving size. Remem, the fresh food additions to the diet are the most crucial element and zero sugars and very low carbs (kibble is carbs). I recomend reading my free action guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide
Hi. My dog was diagnosed a week ago and I’m struggling with it all - she hates the needles. I haven’t managed to check her blood glucose yet - she hates her ears being played with. It's pretty involved as I constantly have diebetic clients benefitting from this very economical service. I will say, stop 100% all sugras, carbohydrates, drugs and vaccines going forward. Feed a fresh food diet only from here on in, no dry foods. On the primalix website there is instructions for transitioning from insulin to promalix. You have cows which is fantastic, keep the tripe, wash it and use as dog food. Dan.
Lean meat is not good for diabetics, you need to give the dog some of the fat that’s naturally in the unit, fat is the only thing that has a neutral insulin response, lean meat with low fat is bad for diabetics
My she dog has been suffering from diabetic since November 2023 .now her weight is 36 kg before start insulin her weight was 49 kg .i have given daily 14 unit insulin in the morning before meal .bur shes sugar level so many times fluctuate when ever i read 30 in the evening.i have faced problems when i was outside in my city then she gave one tablet glycomat gp instead of insulin but no affect the tablet to her body and blood sugar levels reading got vert High when i was back to home and read kindly give proper suggestions and diet plan for my dog
Your dog should eat before you give an insulin injection, because once the insulin is administered, it cannot be removed from the body. If your dog does not eat, or if only half of the food is eaten, give only a half dose of insulin. The dog needs a mostly fresh food diet and my ebook covers this very well: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ Blood sugar does fluctuate during the day but it's after eating that insulin stops high raises in blood sugars. Keep carbohydrates very low. More proteins. No vaccines. Kibble is not that great for diabetic dogs, they need fresh food diets. If you want my One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ That's another option.
If the dog has any yeast/itchy skin issues then a soil based probiotic is best: amzn.to/3yoURqU Otherwise, yes, they are fine. Remember, zero carbs/sugars in the diet with diabetes and a much more fresh food diet is best for both issues.
Hi Sharell, yes. Please keep all carbohydrates/sugars/fruit away from your dog. This is to keep sugar swings to a minimum and feed more fresh wholefoods. The video is pretty comprehensive on what to do. My free guide has more also: healthydogforlife.com/guide Best of luck.
I know, as humans, if we want to replenish our gut with bacteria we need enteric coated caps so they pass thru the stomach and are released into the gut. I have purchased the greens you suggested. Awesome!!!! they will be going into my smoothie too. However, what portion of the probiotics actually make it to the intestines? Does a dog need the enteric coated caps also?
Hi Susan, emailed you today re 1 to 1. The greens are great I use them too, daily. Not a lot of probiotics make it but enough for a daily supply. Thay are constantly being sloughed off so daily supply is good. I don't use caps. Right, I'm off for my daily smoothie now you reminded me. Talk soon. I did send you some recipes too.
Hi, i hope this comment finds you soon, i came home from the military a few days ago, my dog is a 10 year old jack Russell terrier mix who My grandparents were taking care of since I was gone in July. Now as i came back I see she has lost tremendous weight, is extremely bony , has gotten cataracts in both eyes & just seems to be in really bad shape. My grandparents didnt have funds to take her to a vet at first but she was diagnosed as diabetic. They have been given her 5 units of novolin twice a day. Anything i can do to make ehr gain a little more weight? Breaks my heart seeing my bestfriend like this now that I am back. A good diet & more units perhaps? Sorry for my ignorance as i am still trying to read up on this subject thank you.
Hi Bobby, yes, diet is now key. I'd transition the dog slowly over to a raw food diet only with zero sugars/fruits/carbs/drugs/vaccines/stress. Use the insulin to keep blood sugar levels stable while introducing the diet. There's an alternative natural product (may have been mentioned in this video) called Primalix. It's a natural insulin alternative, so that's an option. Diabetes does lead to cataracts and blindness in time. A strict natural diet, supplements, bringing down insulin use to minimal levels all helps to slow the process and bring much better health and weight as the liver/kidneys/gall bladder will also be affected right now, and the gut health will not be great either. There's my ebook Feed Your Dog Better, the raw food diet is part of that ebook: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ If you need One on One personal help via email, there's my One to One service:One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ Or just some free help and tips here.
Actually, yes I can. This is superb, just give by your dogs weight ie for a 50lb dog give 1/3rd scoop, 25lb dog 1/6th scoop and so on in every meal: amzn.to/3vxDylZ Great all round supplement I've used for yeas for all the family and dogs.
@@DanScott1hi, the link doesn’t work, can you post another? Thanks in advance. I want to supplement my diy home cooked diet for my dog ( non diabetic) but prone to developing fatty tumors. I have fed raw for years but she likes raw less as she ages. She’s 9 years old and a rescue. Super healthy except for soft, loose to the skin, fatty lumps.
I have no history but generally it's hard to reverse but can be managed with a fresh food diet, very low carbohydrates in the diet and a few herbals supplements to help regulate blood sugars.
There's literally one kibble I know of (making a video about it soon) It's called Ketona: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble It's 5% carbs, 47% protein. I would still add some fresh foods into the mix like eggs, canned sardines, part cooked and blended veggies.
Is glycobalance can food good or diabetic dogs? Should it be mixed in with the veggies and protein or just give veggies and protein healthy oils and pro biotics without the recommended food from vets?
My dog is 9.9 lbs. How much of organic pancreas gland can I give him. He's a pomeranian and was diagnosed this morning. I want to use this method instead of insulin.
1oz daily (1/2oz each meal if 2 meals). Also give this blood sugar balance herbal: healthydogforlife.com/PrimalixBloodSugarBalance Give zero carbs, sugars, fruit, vet drugs, vaxx etc Feed proteins/veg/offal/green tripe
Needs fresh foods in the diet: Do this as a minimum: If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better. Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbs cause inflammation, itchy skin, hot spots and lead to greater disease at some point and nearly all kibbles are 40+ carbs!) and with high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. Still add the fresh foods even with the best kibble. In your case: give zero carbs if possible, no fruit, no sugars, no vaxx. Give this home remedy kit: Blood Sugar Harmony Kit - Value Size: shrsl.com/3uuz4 The Ketona kibble is great for dogs with high Blood sugars as the carbs are just 5%.
When it's a non dog tincture, I go by weight of human at 150lb and devide by your dogs weight. So your dog is 20lb which means roughly 1/7th of the dose size on the bottle. ie if it's 30 drops, your dog will be roughly 4-5 drops.
my pomeranian is 12 years old his fur smells very sweet. but he doesn't pee much and doesn't drink much either. His kidney value had been high once, but it dropped again on its own and is now neat again. he is also healthy and fit. only he has had problems with his coat for a number of years, his coat is very thin and fluffy. the vet doesn't really know what it could be. I think something with hormones Cushing or hypothyroidism. But does his sweet smelling fur have to do with diabetes. do you think he can have that? I hope you might be able to help me out!
No that's not a diabetes sign, only the breath becomes fruity or sweet smelling. I'd focus purely on diet and make sure to add fresh foods to the meals. With a Pom, you can transition to raw foods as premaid meals: We Feed Raw: shrsl.com/3yxwror or bags of freeze dried: Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD (new video up Sunday about freeze dried dog foods). The budget is possible with a small dog, compared to high end kibbles/cooked. That way you know she'll be good in the blood tests and the kidneys safe. And ZERO vaxx or vet drugs. Very bad for kidneys.
thanks for your comment. he has been on a raw diet for 6 months now. which I am very happy and at peace about. unfortunately we do not have the Bexbi brand in the Netherlands. I wondered if a Keto diet is good? also for an older dog. And is there information there about what you can and cannot use? thanks for all your videos i get a lot of information from them!
@@CBWOLF101. Oh good, raw is excellent nutrition for any aged dog. Raw is not keto, that's a human thing that replces carbs with fat but for dogs we want low carbs, sure, but not high fat, so it's not keto really. Dogs want 12.5% fat on average, daily.
Hi Dan, I tried to order primalix through the link that you have provided, but unfortunately it's not there anymore. First you must take out ALL carbs and sugars from the diet. Give no dry foods, must be fresh foods protein based with 10-15% total fats in diet. Take out the carbs. No vaxx or vet drugs either. My ebook of diet if you want it: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
Around 175-200grms a day of food for an active dog. Keep the dog fairly lean and well exercised. Adjust the daily food amount up or down to keep the weight consistent.
@@DanScott1 Oh wow. I have been feeding him about 320 grams each time so that's about 640 grams a day . 200 grams looks very little food . He is very skinny and feels underweight so I end up giving him more food.

My dog hasn't been diagnosed but I'm 99.99% sure it's the case. I'll be looking at your cook at home links. My dogs vision is at steak it seems. She's always had quality L.I.D. kibble but now I'm guessing it's what's causing this. Ugh. To be fair she's almost 21 and still happy and spunky. But her eyes have started to fog up and drinking to much water. Way to much water. I hope I can keep her going as long as possible. She's a small pug/pomeranian.
Yes, I'd ween her over to fresh food now. No more carbs, sweet anything, vet drugs, vaxx. Use this herbal for diabetic dogs now: Blood Sugar Gold - shrsl.com/3v9i4 Or the 3 product value kit: Blood Sugar Harmony Kit - Value Size: shrsl.com/3uuz4 That's your 'natural' insulin kit. Diet wise: raw eggs (organic best), canned sardines, part cooked and blended veggies, some meat proteins like chicken. Yes, the kibble is around 40%+ carbs which are essentially sugars and this ruins the pancreas. 21 eh, that's great.. more to go yet with new nutrition plan. @ThePOPDIVA24 her eyes have definitely improved in the last few months now too. Only missing 1 front tooth and the rest are healthy. If it wasn't for her vision being so crummy I'd say she's 100% happy in life still. We live in a 44 foot boat. I wonder if the air and movement help keeps her in shape
My 9 year old 11 lb maltipoo female was diagnosed a week ago and my vet said that’s she must get on insulin . I want to help her in a natural way but she is drinking a lot of water and going to the bathroom a lot I don’t want her to get dehydrated while I try to reverse it what can I give her to keep her hydrated and to reverse the diabetes?
This is tricky and I don't have history. I usually recommend balancing the the blood sugars with insulin while changing diet to full fresh food diet only and use of herbals. My diet ebook: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ A good remedy for diabetic dogs: healthydogforlife.com/PrimalixBloodSugarBalance Give plenty of water to drink, not tap and some plain coconut water drinks through the day. Raw food diet is best ( in book) and very low carbs.
Yes, store it in the freezer between uses. It's a dry powder essentailly so to keep it fresh long term, the freezers the place. A freezer is drying to anything with moisture in it so keeps the powder dry and cold and fresh. That's why any meat left open in the freezer eventually becomes freeze dried meat with zero moisture in it.
I am so glad to have chanced upon your channel. I have a 11 year old poodle who has been diabetic for about 6 years now. Already had cataract in both his eyes. He recently suffered 3 back to back seizures In a day and had to be hospitalized. He is back home now and I am monitoring his blood glucose every 2 hours with Freestyle Libre. For the past 24 hrs now his levels read HI which means it's way higher than the machine can even record. He is on Hills I/D diet to which I add some fresh organic chicken. I was giving him 3.5 unit of Canninsulin but the vet asked to bring it down to 2.5 which doesn't make sense as his levels are way too high now. Unfortunately , most of the products you have recommended are not available in Hong Kong where we live. Is there any alternatives I can adopt ? Thank you very much for your guidance. 🙏
Hi Vinta, the first best thing you can do is stop the Hills which will be driving the problem. You want to be giving near zero carbohydrates, NO sugars, preservatives etc and Hills is full of them. Your dog will improve within days of switching the diet. Use eggs (raw or soft boiled), canned sardines (packed in water only), part cooked and well crushed veg, a little lean chicken meat, lean pork meat or lean lamb/beef meat. Add some probiotics if you can get them, otherwise natural Kefir or a little plain greek style yoghurt. Yes this means making food for him but it's not a lot and FAR healthier then the Hills. Start there and let me know how you get on.
@@DanScott1 I will start incorporating these suggestions in his diet. Do you have any recommendations on what kind of vegetables can be included ? Thank you very much
@@vinitasheoran8908 Pretty much any veg you eat. Brocolli, green beans, a little carrot, squash, some cabbage, mashed peas etc. Part cooked and well mashed before adding to break open the cell walls as dogs can't digest veg very well.

Feed a fresh food diet only, very low carbs, no vet drugs or vaccines and this will help to stabilize and lower insulin needs. Fresh food means eggs, meats, canned sardines, veg (part cooked and blended) and keep the foos as raw as possible ie cook less or flash cook the outside and leave raw in the middle. Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!). Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble. By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks. Some must do's: Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination) If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!) Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it. NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
Thank you so much, Dan. You’re such a wealth of solid, holistic wisdom. So refreshing. I will take your advice and everything that you said in your email. I have been following you for a while, and my 4 dogs have definitely benefited from you advice. I have two more questions for you. My second oldest dog, Lucy, who is 12 years old has Addison’s disease. She’s currently on prednisone and percorten. Is it possible for me to get her off these and do a more holistic approach? Also, one side of her mouth she has about 4 teeth that the vet wants to remove due to dental tartar and the rest do a cleaning. The vet wants to remove those teeth and possibly others. The estimate charge would be approximately $3000-$5000 to do it. Number one I am concerned about her age, putting her under anesthesia. And number two is of course, the high cost. What are your suggestions I should do for both the Addison’s and the teeth problem. Thank you so much for your help. You are a treasure. Lorraine

I'd do my best with fresh food diet and herbs to lower the insulin needs, also zero white carbs and sugars, low fruit in the childs diet and get blood glucose numbers down consistently. As for stopping, depends on the numbers but minimal insulin would still most likely be needed.
Hi Dr Scott, I am so grateful to have found you! We adopted a dog a fortnight ago: Cici is a six year old Bichon Frise x Maltshi. She is diabetic and has been so for about a year. She was very overweight with her previous owner - 12kg - and has dropped to half that, but she is very bony. She came to us on a diet of dry food, tinned food and brown rice & pumpkin, as advised by her previous vet. Under the guidance of my holistic vet, I have spent the past week transitioning Cici to a raw diet, as I prefer to feed all our pets this. We don't vaccinate and I don't intend to use any other medications on Cici. In addition to being bony, she has thin hair, weepy eyes and a cataract. I am hoping to see improvement in these areas after a month on raw. She only receives one dose (5u) of Caninsulin per day. I would love to transition to Primalix, but it doesn't seem to be available for delivery to Australia, which is frustrating. I am intending to introduce a probiotic. Will the OcuGlow help to reverse the cataract? Her previous owner told me she had gone completely blind, with the onset of the diabetes, but then regained vision in her right eye about six months ago. Maybe another form of eye support will help? We have Greenpet, in Australia, and they offer a range of herbal and natural supplements. I have a wonderful herbalist, who I frequently order from, and I will purchase gymnema from him & maybe a pancreas support tincture?
The first and best aid to a diabetic dog is a raw food diet. EYE HEALTH: Your dog’s diet should include foods that can help with canine eye health: Eggs: eggs are a great source of vitamin A, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These have all been shown to lower cataract risk. Lean meats: an ideal source of eye-supporting zinc. Orange foods: carrots and pumpkin are just two carotene-rich foods to feed your dog Blueberries: full of antioxidants, blueberries are a healthy food to feed your dog Green leafy vegetables: broccoli and kale are phytonutrient-rich green leafy vegetables to feed your dog Foods rich in Vitamin E: spinach, almonds, wheat germ oil, avocado, olive oil Herbs And Supplements For Eyes There are a few supplements and herbs that can support your dog’s eye health. Omega-3 fatty acids: these essential fats are well known for their eye health benefits. It’s best to avoid fish oil, which depletes the oceans and is often contaminated. Instead, add a clean, sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids. Astaxanthin. This is the same antioxidant that turns salmon, shrimp and flamingos pink!) Grape Seed Extract. An antioxidant that’s been shown to slow cataract development. Eucalyptus Honey. Some herbalists claim this can help reduce opacity of the lens. Dab a small amount of honey inside the lower lid every day for a few weeks. Hachimijiogan. Research has shown this Chinese herbal formula can slow progression of cataracts. Start this in early stages if possible. It may help with diabetic cataracts. Bilberry Extract With Vitamin E. Studies show this combination can help stop progression of cataracts. Alpha-Lipoic Acid. In vitro studies show this antioxidant may help protect the lens from damage. It also shows promise in preventing diabetic cataracts. Cineraria Homeopathic Eye Drops. Expert herbal vet Dr Susan G Wynn finds that homeopathic eyedrops made from the juice of Cineraria maritima can be effective in eliminating cataracts. Dilute drops by half with sterile saline so they don’t sting your dog’s eyes. You’ll need to give the drops for 6 months. They’re available at online sources. Ocu-GLO RX. This natural supplement contains lutein, grapeseed extract, omega-3 fatty acids and alpha-lipoic acid. It’s an antioxidant formula that supports lens health. It may slow cataracts, especially in diabetic dogs. Euphrasia Officinalis 30C - the Eyebright homeopathic remedy. This is one of the safest things you can use and beautiful for healing the eye. I have been in touch with the OcuGlo manufacturer and unfortunately, it's the same deal as Primalix: our government isn't permitting them into the country at the moment :( I order from an excellent herbalist and he can make up a Primalix replica, which I would like to try. Dan, I hope you see this. I have a 10 year old Lab that has been battling diabetes for a year now. My 8 yr old Boston Terrier was just diagnosed in November 2021. We started the Hills w/d, insulin now up to10 units, and he remains in the 400s with the blood sugar which is unacceptable to me. I finally looked at the ingredients on this "prescription food" and felt betrayed. Wheat? Corn? No real protein?? WHY? Glad I found this video. I have been very compliant but no results. I am ready to do anything to help him. It seems weird to give him raw food, but that's the human in me talking. Dogs were meant to eat raw in the wild, right? Any other advice/links is appreciated. It's good food in small sizes at 8kilos max bag size. Good source of proteins and fats with low carbs, important for diabetic dogs (always keep carbs very low). The only downside is high fat at 33% when it needs to be around 15%. You could split the meal by taking out one third of the meal volume and replacing it with raw eggs, some meat protein and a little part cooked and blended veg. Now the fat is less and more fresh foods added for a better meal all round: amzn.to/3CfxweP Another option is ketona kibble which is the only low carb kibble I know without heavy fats. It's only 5% carbs, 46% protein and 16% fat: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble You can then do the same by taking out a third of the bowl of kibble and replacing with the fresh foods mentioned above to get live foods into the bowl and still be great for a diabetic dog.
Hi dan. Ty for all your wonderful info..I'm hoping you may be able to help me..my pug was diagnosed about a year ago now with diabetics..I believed then and now it was brought on by a shot given to her when she was having an allergic reaction to fleas bite..first shot given she was ok, next one after that a few days or week later she became lethargic thirsty and wouldn't eat..she then was diagnosed..inside I believed the shot did it and was furious but felt at the mercy of vet at this point..she was put on insulin .9 ml. Two times a day and I gave her turkey and this encouraged her to start eating..she has been on hills science diet chicken bits all her life..the turkey she enjoyed, but I give her hillshire farms and lately my routine has been sporadic, and I've noticed she isn't as interested in it.. shots, they say are to be given about same time morning night and because of a schedule change I'm not giving them at same time and the eating is sporadic as well, her eating..and eating is supposed to be before shot..well I a while back lowered the dose by a little, as I know there is another way, that she doesn't need the insulin, but I'm afraid to take her off it because I saw it worked, but I realize because of the sporadic timing in giving medicine and her eating habits changing, Im thinking that is why she is kind of bumping into things, not a lot, but a faint noticing it, then she had a couple accidents in house and she never did, as if she was trying to get outside to go but couldn't hold it..I read up on it and it said it could be from too low of dose..so I thought that was from me lowering it and being inconsistent with the shot times...I'm just so upset..I want her to be healthy and to do what I can to help her..so, I do give her eggs a bit, I found she liked them, but I can't make her eat, she does when she wants, yet the shots should be after she eats, and I'm torn because I can't prolong the shots waiting for her to eat, and visa versa..her one eye clouded about 6 months after diagnosis and I was also told nothing can stop that either..but I want to at least have some kind of start on doing something to help her now..I also gave her treats that she loved over counter and I'm afraid they were not helping her, I give her chicken rawhides, puperoni, treats like that but I think I give her too many..I fall into giving her them because she likes them but I also think I have to cut back because they aren't helping her feel better..so, she also eats chicken sometimes too..it's just hard coming up with a plan of action for me, a consistent recipe so to speak that I can do to see result..and I also fear removing her from insulin yet want her to be ok without it...well, any ideas..I wonder if I should pick a few foods to give her in morning, along with keeping her science diet there as well..and try that..she is a bit picky but also enjoys trying things too .lol..also I think I should let go of hillshire turkey and get fresh sliced, that may help..also I heard hamburger meat is good too, is that ok. I'm afraid of raw foods because it's the human part saying, is it really good for them? But, I'm up to any suggestions..is it ok to cook the hamburger..well any tips I'm willing to hear..don't know where to start. Hi Dan, just checking in. My diabetic dog seems to really spike with any grain/carbs (Brown rice, sweet potatoes). Is it okay to remove these from the homemade recipes I got from your book, and just feed proteins/low-carb vegetables like green beans and add egg and healthy oils? When he eats brown rice/carbs I have a hard time controlling him. Need some advice on the use of carbs for my very sensitive Boston Terrier. Do they require carbs or can I just remove them? What about high-carb vegetables such as carrots? By the way, my vet was ASTONISHED by his new low glucose numbers. He was very open to hearing how "we" did it. So hopefully it will influence him to tell others and do his own research about proper nutrition for his diabetic patients.
YES, good idea. Give as low carbs/sugars/fruit etc as possible and low amounts of wholemeal carbs only. Dogs only really eat around 8% carbs in the wild so pet dogs should be fed low carbs too and only whole food carbs like wholegrain rice for example, not white rice which turns to sugar in a heartbeat. Carrots are ok if they are the only carbs or if there's low wholemeal carbs in the meal. I've researched that Dandelion is great for diabetic dogs and I recommend you try it: amzn.to/33KWWT6 It's a liver tonic, digestive aid, anti inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, antimicrobic and hypoglycemic so helping your dog to manage the diabetes and reduce swings. I think your begining to see how the dog health care system works.. right up to the end! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It's designed that way. You'll need to regulate blood sugars with insulin after meals or it gets worse. Then use a strictly fresh food diet, with zero additives and yes, no vaccines. So buy in a raw freeze dried dog food such as Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX and transition over to this food slowly over a week or two and use soil based probiotics to hep the transition: amzn.to/3yoURqU slow and small the first week with probiotics. Then on top of the freeze dried food (take some out to get correct food total needed) you can add some raw egg, canned sardines and a little fresh meats. Keep carbs super low! The insulin units you'll need to use will lower over time with fresh food so you'll need to keep regular blood glucose checks with something like this: Alpha Track 2 - amzn.to/3tWP3VI Yes, it's all a pain and potentially heartbreaking but whats now practically needed.
@@StacyWorth No real option not to. There's no current insulin being produced to balance the blood glucose levels after food digestion, hence drinking to excess and peeing to do this manually. Your dog cannot cope for ever this way. To start with, give zero carbs/sugars/additives. Just proteins/veg/fats. (the veg has low carbs). And raw food is better nutritionally but takes slow transition with old food and a good probiotic helps here but make it soil based as it's stronger: amzn.to/3yoURqU slow and small fisrt week.

Last week, from bloodwork, the vet told us that my son’s dog’s pancreas is “destroyed “! His blood sugar level was over 600, so yes, he is obviously diabetic and he is now, much better. My son has always made his dog’s food, but is cutting back on the carbohydrates AND he is now on insulin twice daily and NO between meal treats. The vet said he will HAVE to be on insulin for the rest of his life! Soooo…is it possible that the “destruction “ can be reversed? “Destoyed” is a strong word and leaves very little to the imagination…sounds irreversible! I’d HOPE this can be turned around. Possible?
"Destroyed"... but with the appropiate diet, natural supplements and discipline very (careful monitoring), the dog can still live a healthy life, just needs the right knowledge and the will to action it. As for insulin needs going forward, I can't say without a case history but they can be certainly minimized with the above at the least.
I know how you feel, been there myself and why I know so much now after 16 years. We can only do what we can with what we know at the time. Looking back in anger does not serve us going forward. We start, we learn and we grow to become wiser, something we could not do without difficult contrast in our lives to propel us forward. I'll do what I can to help.
Im so confused.....my vet said he's Type 1, which i understand means he doesn't produce insulin, not just not enough. I want to believe you and do all natural but you dont mention not producing just not producing enough. Is the vet lying about that or is my understanding of Type 1 not correct or do dogs not have type 1
Type 1 diabetes - a lifelong condition where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes - where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body's cells do not react to insulin properly. There is no other treatment for Type 1 diabetes and without insulin, death is very likely. Whereas Type 2 diabetes can be managed with diet, weight loss, medications, and/or insulin. An all natural diet reduces the amount of insulin needed and regulates blood sugar better. Type II diabetes is associated with obesity, hormone abnormalities and steroids. Animals with type II diabetes can go into remission. Dogs usually get type I diabetes and rarely get type II diabetes, while cats can get either type I or type II.
Our dog was just diagnosed so he's not on insulin yet, but I've watched several videos and am going to try the Primalex Blood Sugar Regulator first. I really believe in trying natural remedies. I was just confused not by the differences between Type 1 and Type 2, just whether Type 1 means no insulin produced, which is hard for me to believe the blood sugar regulator would help if there's no insulin at all. But like I said, I'm going to try the low carb diet and Primalex because I really believe there's a chance it could work. Thanks for your videos. The Vet wanted $1089 right off the bat to get his blood sugar down. It was hard to swallow that.
Actually, why did you say in your second paragraph "there's no other treatment without insulin" when you made a video about natural insulin alternative?
@@kristenharbold274 At the start if insulin has stopped, you'll need some to regulate blood sugars until you dial in a diet, herbs and other supplements that can possibly bring things under control. Thank you for sharing this!! I’m very excited about the hope for my fur baby to feel better❤️

You mentioned there would be dosing instructions on the bottle for primilix for coming off of insulin while gradually adding the supplement. I didn’t see anything of that kind on the bottle or on their website.
One dropper full twice daily for 21-60lb dog. Bottle should last two months.
What about the insulin? Didn’t you mention to implement the primilix slowly and slowly ween off of insulin at the same time?
@@Stemcellactivationpatches2023 If you keep monitoring blood glucose, the idea is, as you said, to wean down the insulin use while giving the Primalix. The diet will need to be strict, zero carbs, no additives and a fresh food diet.

Gymnema is a great idea. Give daily but as to the amount, refer to the product and base it on weight of human at 150lb, so if your dog is 50lb that would be a 1/3rd serving size.

Your dog should eat before you give an insulin injection, because once the insulin is administered, it cannot be removed from the body. If your dog does not eat, or if only half of the food is eaten, give only a half dose of insulin.
The dog needs a mostly fresh food diet and my ebook covers this very well: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/

Use this herbal for diabetic dogs now: Blood Sugar Gold - shrsl.com/3v9i4
Or the 3 product value kit: Blood Sugar Harmony Kit - Value Size: shrsl.com/3uuz4
That's your 'natural' insulin kit.

Almost 21?! That’s an impressive age for a dog.

Her normal amount to keep weight balanced.

Yes, potentially. I'd re-test and do it early PM.

What does cooked urine mean?
So it is best to freeze the entire container of the Green Vibrance powder??
Yes, store it in the freezer between uses. It's a dry powder essentailly so to keep it fresh long term, the freezers the place. A freezer is drying to anything with moisture in it so keeps the powder dry and cold and fresh.
That's why any meat left open in the freezer eventually becomes freeze dried meat with zero moisture in it.
@@DanScott1 Great!.👍
What’s the dosage of the greens for a 21 lbs dog?
1/4 supplied scoop once daily, so split between two meals, 1/8th each meal if feeding twice.
Also, if CBD oil is available there, great for seizure prevention.
@@DanScott1 I will start incorporating these suggestions in his diet. Do you have any recommendations on what kind of vegetables can be included ?
Thank you very much
@@DanScott1 We do get CBD oil here but it's overly priced just like everything else in HK. But I will give it a try.

Just go slowly transitioning any diet or supplements so the dog gets used to it. There's always freeze dried raw foods too which works out ok economically for small dogs: Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD
Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX
Just mix in with current foods then work towards more of the new foods.

I just love your advice Dan. You have such sound, well researched advice. My dogs have done well already because of you. I do have a 15 year old dog showing signs of diabetes. I am going to follow your advice for him also. One question though? I know you said to try to avoid all vaccines. But for us in NY it is mandatory for dogs to have Rabies vaccinations every three years. What do I do about that?
Thank you. If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Re dog showing signs: feed very low carbs or none and stick to quality proteins and fats: Here's further diet help.
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
Some must do's:
Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
You are a treasure.

using insulin on a type 1 diabetic child? Just curious…
EYE HEALTH:
Your dog’s diet should include foods that can help with canine eye health:
Eggs: eggs are a great source of vitamin A, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These have all been shown to lower cataract risk.
Lean meats: an ideal source of eye-supporting zinc.
Orange foods: carrots and pumpkin are just two carotene-rich foods to feed your dog
Blueberries: full of antioxidants, blueberries are a healthy food to feed your dog
Green leafy vegetables: broccoli and kale are phytonutrient-rich green leafy vegetables to feed your dog
Foods rich in Vitamin E: spinach, almonds, wheat germ oil, avocado, olive oil
Herbs And Supplements For Eyes
There are a few supplements and herbs that can support your dog’s eye health.
Omega-3 fatty acids: these essential fats are well known for their eye health benefits. It’s best to avoid fish oil, which depletes the oceans and is often contaminated. Instead, add a clean, sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Astaxanthin. This is the same antioxidant that turns salmon, shrimp and flamingos pink!)
Grape Seed Extract.
Give 1-2 pellets twice or three times a day.

Now the fat is less and more fresh foods added for a better meal all round: amzn.to/3CfxweP
Another option is ketona kibble which is the only low carb kibble I know without heavy fats. It's only 5% carbs, 46% protein and 16% fat: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
You can then do the same by taking out a third of the bowl of kibble and replacing with the fresh foods mentioned above to get live foods into the bowl and still be great for a diabetic dog.

I saw the pills for her vision but she won't take pills and I don't know if anything can stop the eye progression, vision, loss of site..do you? Vet says no .ty for everything..all your helpful information...❤️🌻🌟🌈ps..sorry this is so jumbled, I just am trying to find an action plan to start..lol
Found this comment in my 'held for review' file, just checking everything is ok? I did reply a long comment, I think by you, on another video.
@@DanScott1 yes Dan, just got your comment..Ty..I'll be checking out link you left me and get back with you soon..ty very much for your reply..♥️🌟🌻

My elderly super tiny long-haired Chihuahua is 2lbs. He's 13 yrs old and used to weigh 4lbs. Last year he had a couple seizures for the first time ever. I think he's diabetic. I gave him peanut butter and in about 15/20 minutes he started getting alot better. Any suggestions ??? What kind of raw meat should I start him on ? HELP.....
2 lb Chihuahua
WOW! 2lb! Transition the dog over to raw food now, something like Steves real food: amzn.to/3sz3eO6
Add water and make it fresh.
Give ZERO sugars, fruits, carbohydrates, vaccines etc. Get some plain coconut water to drink as well as fresh mineral water.
Get some CBD oil to reduce incidents of Seizure: healthydogforlife.com/CBD
With raw diet and CBD there should be very few if any seizures now.
Also try Willard Water - amzn.to/3HA1AlN and
Astathanthin&berries eye health: amzn.to/3gfM16R
His eyes will need help if he's diabetic.
@@DanScott1 thank you so much for reaching out to me so quickly. I'm getting on this right now.
I've researched that Dandelion is great for diabetic dogs and I recommend you try it: amzn.to/33KWWT6
It's a liver tonic, digestive aid, anti inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, antimicrobic and hypoglycemic so helping your dog to manage the diabetes and reduce swings.
Good luck convinsing the vet.
Dr Dan my toy poodle Gatsby unfortunately has 10years of I thought high quality food plus annual vaccines:(
A year ago he almost died from necrotic pancreatitis and almost a year later eyesight going kidney liver levels sub par and a month later diabetes
He’s been on the vet recommended canned hills science diet ID
Now they recommend shots twice a day! It’s an integrative vet and I’m dissatisfied that it will be meds and lots of more expense or put him to sleep! He’s lost 2 lbs in 6 weeks 9.5 to 7.5
He urinates a lot and wears a potty band . Drinks like crazy too. He’s engaged in life still and loves walks:( I’m at a loss w no good vets in indianapolis
So buy in a raw freeze dried dog food such as Bixby Rawbble Freeze Dried Raw chicken - amzn.to/3YH6GVD
Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX
and transition over to this food slowly over a week or two and use soil based probiotics to hep the transition: amzn.to/3yoURqU slow and small the first week with probiotics.
Then on top of the freeze dried food (take some out to get correct food total needed) you can add some raw egg, canned sardines and a little fresh meats. Keep carbs super low!
The insulin units you'll need to use will lower over time with fresh food so you'll need to keep regular blood glucose checks with something like this: Alpha Track 2 - amzn.to/3tWP3VI
Yes, it's all a pain and potentially heartbreaking but whats now practically needed.
@@DanScott1 so are you recommending I put him on insulin?
@@StacyWorth No real option not to. There's no current insulin being produced to balance the blood glucose levels after food digestion, hence drinking to excess and peeing to do this manually. Your dog cannot cope for ever this way. To start with, give zero carbs/sugars/additives. Just proteins/veg/fats. (the veg has low carbs). And raw food is better nutritionally but takes slow transition with old food and a good probiotic helps here but make it soil based as it's stronger: amzn.to/3yoURqU slow and small fisrt week.
@@DanScott1 I had been supplementing when I ordered from the farm so weekly he was getting added raw to his basic canned diet along w periodic sardines and goat milk. He has done well w that addition because I knew in my heart that canned stuff was crap. I had watched pet fooled a year ago w our new puppy and I’ve been educating myself. Matter of fact Monday our one year old will have titer done instead of vaccines.
I can’t bear to give my poodle injections :(. Plus I honestly can’t perfectly regiment my life to every 12 hours injections
@@StacyWorth Yes, titers or none for the 1 year old. Puppy shots last 7-11 years!
@@DanScott1 Thanks so much! Your information is very much appreciated!
@@freewaybaby Thanks Marcy.
You need to switch to a raw diet NO KIBBLE. Dogs are supposed to be eating raw meat and bones no dog cereal filled with carbs
@@bretrandolph7419 I second this.
I wish I seen you three years ago now I feel like I'm at the end of my dog's life 😭
I know how you feel, been there myself and why I know so much now after 16 years.
@@kristenharbold274 You could take up a one to one with me for less than a third of that lasts for 3 months!
@@kristenharbold274 At the start if insulin has stopped, you'll need some to regulate blood sugars until you dial in a diet, herbs and other supplements that can possibly bring things under control. I just don't know how diabetic the dog is without history, may still be pre-diabetic in which case it's essential to transition diet, use herbs, stop any drugs/synthetics, self monitor blood sugar balance and see if things can be brought under control.
low carbs for a HYPOglycemic dog? I though she will need hers increased.
Hypo dogs needs a good regular fresh food based diet. Ensure a good balance of fats and protein according to his specific needs.
@@DanScott1 Thank you. Has been home cooked human grade offal and veges and supps for years now. No grain no starches . This diagnosis is recent so needing to add carbohydrates just not sure what .
@@toycam88 If you want more carbs use whole meal carbs like saw cut oats, a little sweet potato and whole grain brown rice at 10-15% of diet. For proteins add in some eggs and sardines.
Soak the oats in water/milk first for half an hour.
@@DanScott1 Thank you kindly. She is yeasty so its a fine line with ingredients I have been avoiding rice and starch. We give her quail eggs and sardines twice a week .
@@toycam88 Yes, a little tricky as yeast loves carbs. These greens help with some removal: amzn.to/49w0bKR 1tsp daily in food.
And theres several herbal anti yeast options.
You are talking way too much Dr. Bs my dog is on a high protein diet and is loosening a lot of weight. You ate wrong, she is dieing
There's a whole dog health history here that I'm not aware of and with complications I know nothing of. If a dog is losing weight, feed more is the first option if the appetite is there.
I am sorry for being harsh. This is my baby and it's hard enough to even be able to afford all the vet bills, insulin. Dog food at $100 a bag 3 times a week with two other dogs. I am sorry just worried
@@denniswebster1421 I appreciate it's a challenge. I'd look to get off the expensive dry food or at least mix it up with some fresh foods to bring down blood sugar numbers and give better overall nutrition for health. My ebook covers all this. healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
But feel free to ask specific questions so we can improve things for the dogs.
My dog has been diabetic for nearly 9 years on human insulin with good diabetic control. There is no way I would follow any of your advice sorry. I’m yet to see any type 1 diabetic dogs or people who have cured their diabetes that’s type 2 which is possible in cats and people.
Fair enough.
