- In honour of St. Patrick's Day I review an Irish Single Malt Whiskey. This is Sexton from Proximo spirits who owns Bushmills... so this is Bushmills Single Malt Whiskey :)
Matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry Casks for 4 years, this dram delivers all you can expect from a sherry matured whisky like Christmas spices, roasted nuts and rum soaked raisins combined with triple distilled Irish Whiskey gentleness.
I enjoyed this one very much so I hope you enjoy the review.

Happy belated St. Patrick's Day! That bottle, while cool, is definitely a pain to pour the first few drams from! Still, when you do manage to pour it, it's pretty nice, especially for the price!

Happy St Patrick's Day- nice review! I'm not much for the Irish Whiskies but this sounds good. I had a chance to sample some Waterford at Whiskyfest last November, and it was pretty good. Have you reviewed any of those?
By the way, the skull with the top hat is usually symbolic of the gatekeeper of the underworld and can symbolize this life meeting the afterlife. Cheers!
Thank you, glad you liked it! Yeah I'm with you on Irish whiskeys but this one is good! I have tried several Waterfords but they're so obscure, all from different farms and seasons it's hard to pick a mass produced one to review. Maybe the Cuvee series but I'm not a massive fan so let's see.
See there's nothing on their website about why they picked The Gatekeeper as their logo. I think they just thought it looked cool. At least there's no marketing BS about why that's the logo and how Sexton is considered the Gatekeeper bla bla 😅

I've not heard of that one, is it a single pot still or single malt? I struggle with single pot stills sometimes but this one is genuinely good. Happy St. Patrick's Day 🍀🥃

This is a 10 year old single malt that was initially aged in traditional ex-American Bourbon oak before given a finishing period in fine 30 year-old Oloroso sherry barrels for around 6 months. The whiskey has been bottled un-chilfiltered and at a generous 46%.
The new make is from Cooley Dist., that produces another wonderful Irish whisky - Connemara
@@log0log Ooh see I only tried the Connemara Peated and it wasn't for me. I tried three different peated Irish Whiskeys and didn't enjoy any of them.
@@thewhiskyenthusiast Cooper Alley is not peated, I would say it's in category of Glendronach12, Benriach12 etc with it's own nuances
