  • Today we talk water heaters. Not hot water heaters. If the water was already hot it would not need to be heated. Basic for gas and electric.

    We're in a Keystone Hideaway and your video helped me get the gas (only) water heater going. Had to reset it from the outdoor panel.

      @@KeystoneRVCenter I have a keystone cougar 07. I get hot water with pp and no hot water on electric.
      The switch is on outside, there are 2 reset buttons on the outside panel also. I assume they are thermostat buttons. I pushed those and they don't feel like they are tripped.
      The breaker system inside shows no signs of being tripped.
      I'm assuming it's the element.
      What's the best way to check the element.

    Thanks JR. Good to see you back on the video making scene. Interested in the shower head recommendations as the stock one in our Flagstaff Micro Lite (same one in our previous trailer) isn’t very effective at stopping water or with flow (whether on water hookup or via water pump). Appreciate the “off the cuff” tips you weave into your videos too.

    We have a tankless water heater and do not like it. We need video’s on how to run it use it. And we have a solar panel system that our guy that was showing my husband things …. And I wasn’t there btw… and wished I was …. Did not do a good explanation of anything on this 2022 Keystone Raptor 351. Is there anywhere we can go to have someone teach us all about this camper… especially me…. It’s very frustrating trying to find videos or have someone come to us to explain our whole camper to me. My husband had a stroke and is really not able to retain as much info anymore. Super sad when you can not get good customer service anywhere anymore.

    My water heater doesn’t work at all. I believe it’s a gas only, it has a little black on/off switch in the bottom left of the unit. Clicking it on doesn’t do anything, no noise or anything 2005 Kestone sprinter

    • @KeystoneRVCenter
      @KeystoneRVCenter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The black switch in the bottom left is for the electric side most likely. There should be a switch inside that does the gas side. When you are connected to city water does the tank fill? After its been connected for some time pull up on the pressure release valve

    I have an Irv T36, touch panel inside which has a gas option and an electric option, with a suburban system outside with the on/off switch. I was concerned about warnings saying don't run the electric heater unless the tank is full of water, yet no instruction as to how to ensure that the tank IS full. Somewhere else I read that you should always hook the water up before the electric for that reason. Am I to assume that water first, followed by turning on the hot water at the sink, before plugging in the electric and switching on the heater? I'm thinking water flow would prove out that the hot water tank is full. Is this correct thinking? Btw, nice article, clear and concise.

    Why would the water foam when using electric and not gas on my water heater? It’s a year old and I have flushed this thing like crazy. However, I narrowed it down to electric heating only.. gas is totally fine! 🤔

    I have a keystone 29bhs 2018 cougar. water heater is a suburban sw6del. every once in a while the reset light comes on and i have to go out and push one of those reset buttons at the outside heater location. i use only electric. so the book says the left one is electric. i push it but sometimes it does not work. if i have the gas and electric switches on in the camper and then go out and reset the heater comes on and i go in and turn the gas switch off. weird. just trying to figure it out. the bottom of the control panel in the camper says KIB. i guess that is an "I".

      Long story short most fridges you have to run them until it makes slushy ice. Pink ice cubes are not the answer if they are still solid they do not have enough antifreeze in them yet

      Do you want the water to BYPASS the heater, as in not go through the heater? If that's the case, and you do NOT want hot water, turn your bypass on.

      Yes it will
      First thing to check is do you get water out of your pressure relief valve.
      As long as you have shore power the outside switch should start the water heating
      The inside switch as long as you have 12 volt power and LP gas flowing through the line you are

At the water pump next to the bed driverside there is a suction line with T handle for winterizing, which is off. And a cold line on otherside go to rv. With gas and electric power on and pump on can only get Luke warm water on hot. Please help 🙏 Sincerely, Sarge

      If you have a Suburban water heater, the tank is porcelain-lined steel and requires an anode rod to prevent corrosion of the steel tank. If you have an Atwood water heater, your water heater tank is aluminum and does not usually require one.

    • @NYVET48TFW
      @NYVET48TFW ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need to make sure the electric is switched on at the tank itself to be able to use the electric switch inside. Once the tank's electric switch is on you can leave it on and turn on the electric heating element from the switch inside. Leave both on so the hot water will recover quicker (and initially heat up faster) while the electric element maintains the hot water instead of using propane, thus cutting your LP usage significantly.
