The people who have been overhyping themselves with some 500ft theory will be disappointed. The rest of us who are thinking a bit more realistic will get what we thought. The spike may be 275-300ft at best with that along with the LSMs being the only major changes. This has Orion written all over it when people thought it'd turn out to be over 330ft and it ended up being only 287ft.
I hope they have an Ace up their sleeve but I’m not necessarily expecting it. As long as it’s somewhat comparable to the original version I’ll be happy. If it ends up somehow becoming the best in the park then of course I’ll take it! 👍
@@TroutTakesThemeParkAdventures I agree, I only say what I said because I feel the hype Cedar Point has been putting out (Moreso the vocabulary) points to a large upgrade, not just the face-lift that seems to be in the works. I don't see adding a spike as a "new formula for thrills" I guess. I guess an additional element would be a pleasant surprise but i think ride times, queue strategy, and block zone really limit their options
Dual track launch. New name will be "drag race" themed ;) It's being split it into two costers that "drag race" each other side by side with simultaneously launches. Each train pulls up to a block section and holds position, the Christmas tree lights signal before they both launch, traveling up its own vertical spike, which is the current track with the top hat removed (possibly) and the vertical length of track extended. Not sure if the twists are staying or if they'll be removed and replaced with straight track atm... Once at the top, the trains will lock and hold, a "winner" is declared with a green light illuminating on the side that "won" (still tbd) and then the trains release and ride backwards down the tower, brake backwards into a release section before returning to the main station for each side to be loaded up again....maybe;) 🤫
Or it could be themed to air races. Then the themed plane cars would look like air racers because of the grey track and white supports. It would also apply to the the name polaris
Looks like they're going for the biggest coaster drop in the world 420ft. The track grade is down 20 ft upon exiting ttd. I believe they're getting a holding reverse spike at 350ft. 90 degrees for the top 100ft before radiusing to a lesser degree. That's the official start of the race. Themed like a formula plane I guess. Possible 4 across but don't quote me.on that
I’d LOVE a holding reverse spike! Think the only one I’ve ever experienced was Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great America back in like 2001 and remember it was fantastic!
I don't see the "something you haven't seen before" as said by Tony Clark in a regular swing launch and spike. I'm thinking reverse launch into a fishhook or something then over the top hat
I think people are missing the point on the layout extension the layout wouldn’t extend past the Break run but it would extend through the launch not just the spike with a switch track I think I’d be really cool tbh ..
If it does involve a swing launch and doesn't break at least one record all this work will be for nothing. The excitement of the rollback in the original design was because it wasn't supposed to happen and was unexpected. If you know it's coming its cool but not as exciting. Technology has advanced quite a bit in 20 years and velocicoaster proves that unintentional roll backs are a thing of the past. Then again they kicked intiman out so who knows what kind of craziness zamperla is cooking up. Hopefully it'll be epic.
Well, Cedar Point's best days are behind them so prepare to be disappointed. Fastest multi launch at best. There's nothing to confirm who is actually working on it. I hope it's Intamin. I don't want zamperla anywhere near that ride.
Seems to be a popular idea and I wouldn’t rule it out. For me it’s hard to ignore that the keychain/ racing logo does seem to hint at a dueling aspect or even two tophats.
I still hypothesize a second top hat using Intamin's vertical launch system. Swing launches are often regarded as boring and too many people are already dissing that idea. The tore down Wicke Twister. Why add essentially the same ride? The vertical launch means you can go as high as you want AND it would be super fun, just like Maverick's hill.
I think that’d be great! In my own head I’m not necessarily ruling out anything, especially a 2nd tophat, as a possibility and I’m not sure anything they announce will truly surprise me but I’m also mentally prepared for just a few nice improvements and they’ll call it a day.
Either we will all be mildly disappointed, or Cedar Point still has an Ace up their sleeve...

Its formula racing theme and extended layout and possibly multi launch so it will probably be called Foramula Racer or Foramula Racing Dragster.
This one definitely lives up to its name!

@@alecscheerer_run yea, true . the single launch is already a pain to keep up and running
that'd be a dream but way over budget for cedar fair
RuPaul's Fabulous Drag Star is the new name actually

Three accelerations to make it over the top hat that used to take just one will be a huge step backwards.
But you get a guaranteed roll back which would be awesome
nah, I've had a rollback/relaunch and it was awesome! Makes for a way better experience not making it over the top hat the first try.
@@wheelinachair The rollback wasn't the point. Accelerating at a slower speed than before will not be an upgrade.
Yep agreed. This whole waste of a time reimagining is all one big downgrade.

I could see that for sure and can agree that would make a ton of sense based on what Tony said!
I really hope this will be as intense as the original. The intensity on that launch was unparalleled.

I prefer the theory that the VVV in revved up is for 555 in Roman numerals because v is 5 so that could be 555 feet
No height or speed records broken. 365 foot vertical spike and 125 mph 2nd launch
I think the tophat could still be modified to allow for dual racing coasters.
Seems to be a popular idea and I wouldn’t rule it out. For me it’s hard to ignore that the keychain/ racing logo does seem to hint at a dueling aspect or even two tophats.
The coaster is too old for dual trains. I think the safer option is just the one car.
It cant
My idea for the new name is “Formula Racer” or “Formula Racing”.

Absolutely all I care about is how fast it will go
120mph
I thought new mgmt might slow it down. So it will still be the 2nd fastest in the USA. Outstanding News. Thank You

Could the movie Gran Turismo coming out have any play with this 🎉🎉
No.
ill be fine even if zamperla does it but i will be angry if they give it comfort collars
I think the new name might be Revvved Formula Dragster thats my guess but im probanly way wrong on that but thats my guess. anyways
What if the launch is 0-80 in 1.23 seconds😂
Name: REVVVED LINE
Manufacturer: Intiman/ Zamperla
the spike will most likely be no more than 300- 340ft max reaching top speed of 129 mph🤫
@@alecscheerer_run they've cut ties with Intamin, so it's just going to be Zamperla.
I actually think the theme is really important to the GP and how successful the ride is. Disagree there.

Ok I think the name will be formula racer
*Promosm* 😌
I clicked so fast you can say baby I’m ready to go

Hi! 👋
They've already got a new name, and it's going to be "Polaris".
That was just a red herring
@@BluePineappleCoasters but the Top Thrill Dragster name is officially gone
@@nevaehhamilton3493 Polaris isn't the name either

Polaris has nothing to do with racing. Some people just can't give it up with that name.
The 3 V's could be Roman numerals and stand for 555.
