All of the other headunits I have tried are a pain to install & there is always that annoying static noise & offset volume.
This Idoing kit is the first complete plug & play kit I have found for these cars!
My favourite part of having this headunit is by far the wireless apple car play/android auto. Its super fast & works perfectly.

Is the radio volume offset quieter also or is it only for Bluetooth/carplay audio dimmer? I want the AM/FM radio quiet at 1 volume too. Please let me know 🙏 great job in the video btw!
You should always want to get rid of using the factory amp whenever possible if you're trying to upgrade your sound. All of the factory amp crossover points and cutoffs are designed to work with the factory head unit and speakers.
With this setup, if you upgrade your speakers, they won't really sound any better than stock, and upgrading your headunit again won't sound any better.
Aftermarket HU should automatically = Aftermarket amp and speakers unless you're only after the screen and functionality and don't care about the sound.
This is great however for the latter.
Just got the kit from Idoing. There were quite a few issues. Firstly, the airvent would not fit flush on the Idoing bezel. I had to cut off about half an inch of plastic from one of the posts for a screw to get the fitment acceptable. Secondly, as you pointed out in the video, the jack for the radio that is on the harness does not actually fit into the back of the radio. Thankfully, the kit includes a second jack for the radio (not attached to the harness) that actually fits in the hole and makes contact. Instead of soldering the blue power wire, i depinned the connector and swapped to the alternative jack provided with the kit. Finally, after all that, I still get a large amount of static anytime the radio is powered on. The volume adjustment is fine and seems to be accurate, but the constant static anytime the radio is plugged in got old real fast. Based on the research i've done, the issue is really only fixable if you ignore the black filter box and go straight to a aftermarket amp. The head unit itself is good quality. Idoing support was very responsive to my emails so that was great to see. Long story short, good unit but has a few small issues and still requires an aftermarket amp to get rid of the static.

Does it boost the sound in the car? can you hook up aftermarket speakers and receive the correct amount of power? If not I wonder how you’d get an aftermarket amp hooked up
@@TakeThis_L there will be wires extra wires for amps and sub unsolder yet to the wire harness plus it's labeled too. Also if you need if idoing has good customer service

Just installed it and they didn’t fix the antenna wire, and fitment is horrendous, huge gaps and screen doesn’t fit flush. I’m very disappointed
Question, on the Accord with the Premium audio system would the same thing apply with no static? or did they just resolve this on the Civic, I had a Navifly unit and it looked identical to this IDOING unit. The static noise was aweful and the steering wheel control didnt even work till I hooked up a seperate wire they made me connect when I had it
I got mine off crutchfield and it bypassed the factory amp can be a pain but it's not to bad I'm eventually going to get something like that for mine so I can see hondata on screen.

Hi! Did your 2 screws under the radio go back in with the aftermarket head unit? I just installed mine and there’s no way it would work there. Without them it seems a bit shaky to me.

I’m trying to figure out how to order this on the link you posted. Have a 2008 Honda Civic Hyrbid with the blue seat and dash interior. Is there a dash kit in that blue color?
The "static" you're describing is because head units normally send speaker level out. The factory amp expects line level, not speaker level on the amp input. Its like plugging an amp into an amp. The result is over-driving the input on the factory amp which sounds loud and distorted. The RCA connectors are all line level, the same that has been used for the last 70 years in home stereos.
I've no experience with this head unit, just speaking from general experience.

It does this without me touching any controls, turning the wheel, turning on the wiper blade, anything. It could happen with the car on in park. As long as your camera does not have all kinds of wires you could splice right into it

Hey Daniel, I'm talking to iDoing about this now but they obviously have an incentive to sell me their head unit. From your greater technical expertise (and experience installing many of these), do you believe that the proprietary wiring harness they have for the amp (built into the steering wheel controls as you mentioned) would fit other head units? You said you installed a lot so I'm curious if we could just use their wiring harness with other similar Chinese head units.
I would say it 100% depends if each company is using the same base headunits. If not then they may have different electrical outputs that lead to different wiring diagrams for their harnesses. I personally just went with a decent brand off of Amazon (Dasaita) and messaged them till I got sent the right harness. I'll have to look into getting steering wheel controls since I had factory navi too.

hey i’ve been using it for a while now and it had worked great with no issues but all of a sudden there was no sound. Like completely no sound at all. The radio and everything the screen works fine but there is no sound. I tried resetting everything and unplugging the whole unit and putting it back in but still no luck. Does anyone know what can be the issue ?

By watching your video your have a long deck in back mine is the short one. How do I know is the right one. There is no # I can tell. It hard to communicate with seller. Thanks.

So I wired everything identical to you, install, and only the front left door speaker and the front right dash tweeter are working and they are extremely quiet and I can tell the speaker is clipping even with a very low output

@@JenniferSchilling-no3hc I’m speculating the factory amplifier for premium audio has failed. Everything’s hooked up as per the video, but the only speakers getting signal are the front tweeters and the front left door speaker

i installed a head unit in my 09 si and no matter what the volume is extremely low. what do i do. there’s one white plug in the factory harness that the aftermarket one didn’t come with. is that my issue or what do i do.

I have the same 09 civic si and had a kenwood double din installed so it was not a plug in play. My question did u just soldier all the cut wires back to stock harness?
If you installed a kenwood headunit with a plug & play harness, you should be able to disconnect that harness from the factory connector & plug the idoing harness into the factory connector. Only way it won’t be plug & play is if whoever installed the kenwood unit cut the factory harness to install it.

@@JenniferSchilling-no3hc actually yes! I realized there's a couple extra wires in the box that I had to hook up to the RR and RL on the back of the rafio after I connected the wires the back started working.
I did connect the RR and RL RCA from one harness to the corresponding RCA plugs on the other harness. I have no other left over wires in the box.

@@DOOMLORDHOKAGE to be fair I did find they sent an extra cable that’s right that I will have to splice into the wire which is extra work and is no longer plug and play but whatever, and the trim they sent in a different package which comes at a different time

I was wondering if you could help me out. Unit is installed. When turning the key to position 1 (accessory) there is slight static. But once I put it to position 2 (on) or when the car is running there is alot of static which is not very tolerable. Even when hitting the horn I get some feedback. Disconnected all RCA cables and issue still remains. If you could assist me that would be great! Thank you.

Have you seen the Dasaita 9 inch model? Doesn’t protrude like these big models and even retains the airbag light. But says it doesn’t work with the amp. Trying to find a work around because I like that size.
@@MrHuck metra sells a kit that works around the amp.

I installed a unit today in my 06 Civic EX Coupe with the premium sound system. Everything is working great except no sound out of the back speakers. I made all the connections just like you did in the video. Any help would be appreciated.
Late reply, but it’d really just have to be because something wasn’t connected or something wasn’t connected properly. Hopefully you’ve pulled it out and found a solution by now 🤞
Just got my head unit yesterday and upon installing there is no sound, I can’t seem to figure out why as I followed the installation instructions as described in this video. Bought the L10 for premium sound on my 2006 civic si any ideas?

I will say I love the idea of adding something like this to my FA5 but after looking at the website that you've provided, I am a but confused. I saw that for the very last option iDoing had the premium audio radio, however it appeared as if it was a European option with the digital climate control screen. Could you specify which one of the 5 options you picked and if us as consumers need to reach out to them in regards to the amplifier relay thingy on the harness (black box). Or do you just pick the option and everything gets sent automatically. Thank you!

They ship the headunit & dash bezel separate.
Its an impedance mismatch not really anything to do with frequency but yeah

Are there any difference in the plugs for the non navigation and the factory navigation plugs? Im no wiring expert and i don't wanna drop almost 500 bucks just to find out there are differences and cant plug and play.
There is definitely diffences. I just bought it and am having so many issues!
@@skylerpearson3377 makes me wish I should have bought a non navi SI. I've been doing so much research on replacing the factory navi with an aftermarket unit. I basically gave up and probably just going to stick to using it.

Yes you can! There is 2 RCA pre outs labelled “Subwoofer” & “AUX” that are used to run an aftermarket amp.

these Chinese kits are all so janky, they're really a $80 tablet with a bit of trim and harnesses that should sell for $150, not $500. I put one in my car and after a year it only connects to apple CarPlay half the time. Next time I'll just hard mount a real tablet at least it will always work.

Sounds stupid but try turning your phone off then back on. That happened to me too & this fixed the connection issue.
