Grade A for innovation, A for design, D for range.
Yea my electric bike folder gets that kind of range and cost a grand. And almost as fast and no license, insurance, yada yada.
Was interested till they said it was electric. Range is never trustable from what I've experienced.
F for the name.. coma!! 🤕😵💫😵💫
i mean, what kid of range do you want from a scooter like that?
This is not made for the US market, the rest of the world doesnt just casually do 100 mile trips to a special steakhouse. its intended as urban transport or end-of-trip transport, like from the back of your RV, leaving your car outside the city and entering on this or for an average 10-20 mile commute.
Isn't it being developed in Japan? You know, a country significantly smaller than the US in size? Also it's made to fit inside a car trunk, it's meant to be used for shuttle trips, not as a main commute option
So freaking cool. If I was rich and wanted a fun little toy I'd totally get one. $4000 is a TON of money for what amounts to a toy.
That and things like the Emove roadrunner pro, or the Extreme bull K6 aachieve most of what this sets out to do with way more performance.
honda trail, honda navi
definitely not worth it to buy that toy.
Would be a fine enough price if I were already the owner of a 1t truck and RV and wanted something to roll from an RV camp to the store and back.
But my sole vehicle is a Chevy Spark, little more than a K-car. The entire electric bike segment is already overpriced for my needs, and this thing is over a quarter of the price of my car
if only honda trail was available in the eu@@MrUnderEstimated
I mean a $400 electric scooter has pretty much the exact same range and speed specs while being even more compact so I must be missing something....
Nope. I think you pretty much nailed it.
And you’d look like less of a loser on an electric scooter
@@eag8999 true
Yeah a folding electric bicycle is cheaper and more versatile, can go further too
@@hojo70 how hi are you???
I took a trip back to last year's prime mushroom season. I actually spotted the missing autonomous automatic backcountry hiking backpack clearing a craggy ridge before disappearing back into the forest. When you see the backpack hiking all by itself then you know we're on the right track with tech.
Prime mushroom season you say? Okay story checks out lol
$4,000 and 19 miles of rage doesn’t work for me no matter how innovative this thing is. Thanks for video guys.
Only Alex and Kase would find this mini urban thrasher. Pretty cool ideas as far as a rolling billboard! I road and worked on the original Honda idea behind this bike. Better than walking. See ya!
As someone looking to live out of my truck fairly soon, and then hopefully a camper/RV soon after with a lot of solar capability, this would fit some great scenarios for when I don't want to take my living setup with me. With this, I can make small trips while on lunch at work, and around sites that I plan on living around. Basically, I can park the bigger beast I drive, and then putter around on this lil guy.
Besides that niche scenario, I think this'll do best for students in dorms close to school, or city commuting with rolling this on a bus/train. It's perfect for it's already intended market, Japanese consumers. While I don't think it'll catch on very well in the US, Europe and the Asia's will enjoy it.
Back when I was a long haul trucker this would have been perfect to keep in the sleeper so I could explore cities while my truck was parked. A bicycle was a bit too big
I'm getting my CDL right now, and this exact thing is something I'm super excited for. Not in the cards just yet, but down the line I'd live to have once of these in the sleeper and just use it to roam around a city
@@Twinspinner being able to separate from the truck and hit the city streets like you’re a local is what will help keep you on the road and enjoying traveling.
Electric scooter though
@@shawnmuench what about it?
@@slimetank394 mm for easy storage in a truck and getting around
They're not very safe though (the ones that go 30+). If you don't know the roads you're going on I guess it's not a good recommendation.
5:29 that Adventure model looks AWESOME!! I definitely want THAT one!!
The panelling is to make the bike fit in with the surroundings when stored. "Sofa" style allows it to fit in with the lounge room.
The rollerskate wheels on the back are a good idea. But there needs to be a another set or another non-road wheel that pops out. If you take the folded up bike indoors, you don't want that front roadwheel rolling over carpeted floors or any other type of indoor flooring. After a few days, there's going to be a dirty path leading all the way up to your desk. Being able to take this bike inside with you is nice. But those roadwheels have to be kept off indoor flooring.
$4,000 for this? That's robbery considering the other options available out there.
Damn looking at this and comparing it to the $1000 new motocampo. Kinda a hard sell. Similar range and a quarter of the price and more portability on the new campo
Do a review on a Soversky. That would be a "cool" bike. This thing, is very interesting. Seems relatively practical. Very versatile. Somewhat functional. But "cool" is a subjective word anymore. I do like it a lot for what it is. I just wish it had been available 30 years ago. lol Always wanted something similar to this to throw in the used trucks or cars that may or may not make it to the next destination. Pop it out and ride to a nearby phone. These days, such concerns are gone with the invention of a cell phone. Still, it is intriguing. Big cities, lightweight people, quick jaunts from the parking garage to the office would be great. 4K for a roll around battery pack tho, not the most affordable option for those looking for emergency power. lol
If it could transform by itself, that would be super awesome 😮
That's a movie
And it would cost a fortune!@@wileecoyote5749
I grew up on a MotoCompo, was the first 2 wheels I ever rode.
Super cool! 🙌💯🔥
5:27, black screen
Editing team either did not review this or they did not care and just needed content.
I’m finding that e bike companies lie about the range to sell product. It’s probably more realistic to say the range is 10 miles.
For 4 grand there are a ton of better electric choices out there, this is cool I like it but wow 4 grand that's about 2 grand to much in my opinion
I want to see you're opinions after testing...and answer all your own questions, like tires 🧐
I rather have a gas engine.
Electric 19milage claimed means 9 miles real world use going over 10mph. Hills, over 150lbs, half distance again...each. so you're lucky getting 4 miles per charge... Real world.
Depends on the company since there’s no universal testing standard for these vehicles.
Cool design
This would be awesome to have chilling in the back of a landcruiser 250.
A/F A for design F for range, overall FAIL as the range is so painful. I think I'll stick with Big Red and get a Ruckus with 100 miles range for $1,000 less and use that gas to go 26,178 stress free miles.
an electric mountain bike would be more versatile
Yes, or any number of small, folding e-bikes (which have functional pedals for backup).
Send one to me, I have always said that there needs to be a modern Motocompo, and it will be a hit among Vanlifers that has to park their vans outside city centers, other groups are boat people and private plane pilotes.
I would love to park outside the city on the free parkings and scoot around on this and it would fit in any small car I get
Maybe this motorcycle costs more than your car
@@2015A That is probably the problem with this "motorcycle" (it is basicly a electric kickbike with a seat)
I want one with burgundy plush silk velvet and a rabbit logo 🤑
Its all about the specs. You can get a lectric ebike, and just buy a spare battery for almost a quarter the price. Cool concept.
I don't really see the practical advantage of something like this over a foldable electric scooter like the Glion Dolly. It's 10x the price and 4x the weight for a seat and a few more mph top speed- just enough that you'll have to register it. If it could at least match the Grom's top speed then they would be something, but
Yup, small motorcycles are no longer practical
@@2015A small motorcycles are plenty practical; the Grom and Cub are testament to that, but this thing doesn't have enough power to let it drive on any but local streets. It's like a pedal-less electric bicycle, but slower, heavier, pricier, and probably can't utilize the bike lane. I like the concept but I just don't get what niche it fills that isn't better served by existing alternatives.
ufff wow $4k? Honda has their e motocampo coming out later this year for supposedly $1k. Though I already have a mini folding ebike that pretty much does everything this does for like $400.
And now Honda is launching their own version
The side panels should be solar panels
I mean at this point you could just use an electric scouter.
Does the side panel that looks like a.table can turn into one lol .
Is it just me or is that deck over the rear wheels for someone to stand on to hitch a ride
Solar Panels On Both Sides& Rechargeable For The Sides Angled Upwardly Flat For Maximum Charging Of The Bike !!!
The original 1981 Motocomp cost $1200 in today's money, got 162 mpg and you'd "charge" to full in 30 seconds. What problem are we solving exactly by making this thing electric at 3 1/2 times the price?
That battery and range are tiny. I guess it's cool that it folds but a Juiced ebike RipRacer is better in pretty much every way and is only $1300-$1500 bucks.
Thats some big wheels on that TV tray.
4k for an electric bike that goes 25mph??? Eh….You can get a Rad folding bike that goes the same speed and does everything this does but is way more versatile for $1500
very cool. if you had $4k and want a faster moto i would get the Onyx RCR
I want one. But I'm not convinced I can really make much use of one. In addition to a regular full sized naked bike I want to get something small & electric and this ticks a lot of boxes. Especially the size of it which is way better than I thought.
If they made one very slightly larger and has a tad more power, speed and range then I think alot of people will consider them for City riding instead of a 50cc scooter or equivalent Electric like I will be in the future.
60 kph is kind of required to get around outside of my direct area much like alot of people so it will always be something that these companies need to consider for people to pull the trigger like I am wanting.
I'm pretty sure you can get this as a tax write-off with the visual display on the side it's objectively like a mobile billboard for your business
do they know Segway? The channel named bike, but for these kind of bike is outdated. oil, gas, maintenance, license, insurance which is big impact for small CC bike. I believe the small cc will be replaced by electic scooter. I hope the channel will introduce more scooters which no oil, no gas, no maintenance, no license plat, no insurance.
I have the 1000w non-folding version lol monster moto electric mini bike
Hi,
Is this being made in Japan or China?
the brand is japan but idk if the manufacture is in china or not
Leather on motorcycle?
There's better scooters cheaper I believe. They would also fold to a smaller package.
They throw a golf bag holder on these, they could blow up
Very cool but comparing it with a Motocompo is like comparing an EV with a classic vintage car.
Rather buy an electric ebike, many have a usb port built in to charge stuff, plenty around that fold also, and cheaper, looks a cool concept but i doubt many would buy it.
4K for an electric scooter!? No wonder you left the price announcement till the end of the video. The Honda is under 1k. I’ll get the mini moto instead
It's like a standing escooter but worse, and more expensive
Cool, but not $4k cool.
this is cool and all but just get like any EUC
$2000. Sold
$4000 is way out of line for the import market bike. Forget about getting any kind of service. The Honda is a much better deal.
honda have made a new one and its less then a grand so i wil get the honda one
This makes no sense today as we have foldable e-bikes e scotters
I’d rather get the Honda monkey 🙉
The only way this would be useful at all is if it had interchangeable batteries like a power drill, oh, and if it were no more than 200$.....and maybe like 50 bucks for the batteries.
Um sorry but love the concept, BUT Hate the poor performance both in terms of speed and range. I'll look to buying a high powered faster and greater range electic scooter.
There are a lot of e-bikes that seem like a better choice than this. They may not fold, but have a lot better functionality than these.
lol Honda now came out with their reboot for $1,000
I have 1 and it's amazing!
@@hamburglar710 I wanna get one so bad but it’s winter here for me so I’m going to wait till the spring
Honda just announced they are releasing a $995 fold up scooter. Very basic model .
Ya had me until 'electric'.
Im sorry man but without the gas engine
Most of the mortorcycling joy is already lost.
Show me some cool
Little gas scoots. Please.
Rich ppl toy. And good luck getting noticed by Optimus Prime-sized SUVs these days being that low to the ground. They barely see me on a standing scooter.
Great if you're not taller than 5F1
its as valuable as a bic lighter
I'd much rather buy a his and her's Navi for less money!
This is way less capable than a thousand dollar ebike like the lectric XP. You’re buying this for the style, and that’s about it
coma*
5000+ Australian, Umm might as well buy a 250cc or a real 125cc
What is this dragon ball bullshit I love it
Bruh thats electric toaster.... Motocompo is on petrol.
Would not be street legal no pedals plus it weighs 110 pounds
There is no point for this... there are smaller escooters with better range and top speed
>electric
dropped
If you drive this on american streets someone will splatter you and not even know that it happened. You need like a flag pole so the lifted trucks and suv cam see you
小さいけど、そのkoma 、モトコンポより重いよ。
...Four Grand? ....ahhhh....... NOPE! THE C.E.O. HAS LOST HIS MIND!
4k ??? And slow as hell???
At 4k you might awell buy an actual motocompo thats gas and can be filled up..
Looks like a chopping board.
$4,000?! What a waste of time watching this video. That’s a ridiculous ripoff. F that
THAT'S NOT A MOTORCYCLE.........
Hell no $4000 for a toy🤦♂️
*$4,000.00 really isn't that bad ? Yes it is ! Terrible price ! Elitist product. Richman's toy. Anything North of $3,500.00 is not realistic.*
floP!
$4000 for attention. Pass.
USELESS
Looks Ratchet..
expensive toy,not a motorcycle.
I'm gonna be honest. It looks awful compared to the motocomp
Sadly its an electric, not a 2 stroke \ 4 stroke engine
Too bad it's electric
Electric is so bad. You can find gas way more easier than you can find a place to charge. faiL
electric=gay
