I love how hilariously Honda this is, even if it didn't have motocompo's heritage. I personally couldn't use one since I need to make long commutes without public transit, but I really wish I could! Would love to see it be advertised with a City or a Jazz like the motocompo was. Great little machine.
Will own one of these very soon 🔰 + Big shout out to the owner of that extra clean Crx. Owned 2 red ones. One was 89' Si, 2nd was a 91' HF with a Si head I had replaced. Both very clean both manual with close to 300k. Other than a starter relay randomly getting wet on one. Those cars never skipped a beat. 👌🏽
Honda should have designed the firmware so that at 1/2 of the max RPMs, a power surge would kick in to simulate VTEC. hahaha If these where awd [double wheel motors] I'd already have 1 in my Element. They definitely look fun.
This bike would be super useful to me. I live in philly without a car, and right now I work from home, but that's gonna change next year. The office is in one of the suburbs and there is a train that goes there, however they just kinda dump you into a parking lot and you have to wait for a bus to take you anywhere. Walking to the office from there would take like 25 mins too. (Not to mention taking the bus or subway to the train station in the city...) With this I can just ride to the station, pack it up and bring it on the train, and then unpack it to ride from the station to the office. Neat!

Got to give Honda some solid credits here. Think of vision, precision and engineering packed in a sub-1K electric scooter. This is a really great product considering the requirements the project would have started with!
tiny, solid tires + no suspension would be a nightmare on the roads in my city. I had a Ninebot G30 with bigger, air filled tires, and any time I rode it even 4-5 miles, my arms would already be semi numb from all the potholes and just poorly paved bumpy roads. I suppose sitting down would help a little there, but then it would leave your butt to absorb the jarring and make that numb. Suspensionless scooters are terrible to ride if your streets are crappy, you feel every single bump. That said, I might get one of these once the Reddit'ers figure out how to mod it to go 25 lol.
I want one of these but the range and speed seem too limited. I guess the lack of suspension too is a negative point. I am eyeing the Acer ebii e bike too.
For $1000 and today’s tech. it should definitely be more powerful. 15mph top speed doesn’t cut it when you can buy a scooter for 1/3 that price that easily does at least 22mph. I need to outrun most big dogs 🐕.
@@jamielannoo4250It's battery life is also bad for the price, it doesn't fold as compact as cheaper electric scooters, and it's weight capacity is low for the price too. You're basically paying twice as much as better models for a unique look. Honda botched this, no way around it.

I wonder what you can do if you started 3D printing new side panels and whatnot. From some of the marketing materials with x-ray views it seems like you have a chance at making it less of a billboard and putting a bigger battery and whatnot in it if you don't need the storage space.
This has the same specs as a Mi Essential (a pretty limited scooter to begin with) but four times the price. Consider carefully whether the suitcase form factor is worth the extra money - even just $400 will give you way more versatility from a traditional scooter than the motocompacto.
This sucker would smoke that in a race, it's like 33% faster if my math is correct for once. While I'm making fun, 16mph compared to 12 would be actually noticeable on a scooter. And just my opinion but this one looks cooler and has all that empty space to add stickers and badges and stuff.
Looks damn fun. I have a Gyroor 450watt and it goes 25mph on 14 inch wheels. On roads with cars I use my Fly-10 e-moped (people think tiny size when I say scooter lol) that does 45mph. I can attest that the Gyroor is way more fun when you put it on a sidewalk, that 25mph feels wayyy too fast. Honda did perfect with a solid 15mph, it'll feel like 40 on trails and sidewalks, just look out for other people! lol
All that plastic casing. They could have done without it and put in a folding basket so you can actually carry stuff. Also, it looks like it would blow over parked in the slightest wind.
I will take my E scooter over that any day. Lighter, folds to long slender package, costs less, less wonky stuff to break. I have ridden a lot of bikes it looks like 15 miles on that would be torture for males.
i dunno. i find it massively disappointing. it's a fun little toy i could give my 10 year old nephew but unlike the motocompo it's not a vehicle that will actually take you anywhere.
Just test rode this thing. Not good at all. Pretty cool looking and convenient because of its size but horrible to ride. If you’re taller than 6 ft, you’re excluded from this bike. Trust me. I’m 5’9” and it was a shitty ride. Wheels are solid so you feel every bump.
Sub-par to a kid's RAZOR escooter. Look at it struggle on flat and barely makes it pass 15 mph. Besides, how will you get traction with those plastic tires. Buy a budget ebike for more than half it's cost and get more fun. My son's GoTrax G3+ was $349, rubber tires with range up to 28 miles, and the 300w motor will produce 38Nm of torque that easily push to 25 mph faster than you could unfold this shitbox!
The GoTrax only goes a few mph faster than this and doesn't look anywhere near as cool IMHO. Yeah it's a ton cheaper but it's still slow at 18.1mph and people who own one say it starts to have "speed wobbles" at the the whopping max speed lol. I'd be scared to ride a scooter at any speed that starts to wobble at 18. Sorry, 18.1mph Also, the tested range of that is 9.8 miles, so I think you're talking about a different scooter. Even Go Trax's inflated specs are nowhere close to what you're claiming.

Have they tested it with uphill roads yet?
