What a lovely way to spend a day with the lads and sun ok hot but still you would take it every time. Shame about not seeing the bike in motion maybe next time.
It really was a great day out, Ian and I can’t wait to do it again next year. I’ve got a review of the bike coming up soon too, so I promise there’ll be plenty of shots of it in that. 👌🏻
You’re very welcome, Richard. Glad you enjoyed it and yes, the bike is incredible. Very happy with it. 👌🏻 Thanks, as ever, for watching and commenting. 💪🏻🌟
I grew up in the new forest and cycled and raced round there for a few years and it great but you just need to respect the local residents including the animals. Glad you enjoyed the location
Absolutely Reece. As a wildlife lover, I’m always conscious of giving animals a wide berth. It really is a beautiful area to cycle though and I’m keen to return and take on some of the off road trails. 💪🏻
@@AdyWalter great to meet you too, mate. Hopefully next time we’ll both start queuing earlier and get closer to the front, instead of standing roasting before we set off! 😂 Looking forward to seeing you next year though, as we’ll definitely be back too. 💪🏻
Always great to see the appreciation of the Forest, I live near Lyndhurst and out in it rain or shine….I never take it for granted. Only down side is the holiday traffic in the summer can be a little hairy sometimes so just treated myself to a gravel bike. If you think the area is great on a road bike then you will absolutely love the miles of gravel paths that intersect the Forest. Great video Pete thank you.
Cheers Clayton, so glad you enjoyed it. It really is a stunning area and I can't wait to get back down there to do some more exploring and would love to see some of the off road trails too!
I would recommend you don’t watch my Dunwich Dynamo video, where I ride 112 miles overnight on a brand new, Chinese electronic groupset I’d not tested! 😂 It’s all part of the adventure! 😉
Such a great ride, isn’t it. It was our first time this year too, but we’ll definitely be back next year and beyond. Such a beautiful area to ride. Didn’t realise they had red squirrels on the IoW though. Jimmy and would have looked out for them while we were on holiday down there last year!
Yeh, it’s a lovely SLR 8.9. Along with the new wheels, he’s just bought a new aero handlebar for me to fit too. Hopefully not with just twenty minutes to go and in boiling heat thus time. 😂
@petertreadway mines a Pro CSLR from 2014, full Ultegra and a fabulous ride. Just squeezed Continental gp5000s 28s onto it. Wish Jimmy the best of luck with his lovely bike
Great video, before I moved to France I lived in Ringwood, no red squirrels , you have to go to Brownsea island in Poole. Oh and they are not horses, they are New Forest Poneys .
I do like Brownsea island, so I’ll have to take Jimmy over there next time we’re down on the south coast! 😂 New Forest Ponies too… knowledge base updated. 😉
Had a week with my Mrs down there in June and managed to get four @30 mile rides in. We stayed at a barn conversion in Burley, those horses are regulars! Amazing place but quite hilly in the north, I hit a 25% hill😮!! Nearly killed me 🤣. But plenty of wild Donkeys up there!
Very jealous of your week down there, Brian. Would have loved to spend a bit more time exploring. Will definitely get back down there at some point. I need to find this 25% hill! 🤣.
Blissford Hill I think it's called, always better to stumble over these things by accident, it avoids the dread 😁 It's not very long though so only a short tester!
@@brianridley1102 Yep, I see it now! It seems our route diverted off through Stuckton and up through Fordingbridge to avoid that one... probably for good reason! 🤣
Looked like an amazing ride, just a shame im at the other end of the country so too far for me to take part 😢. That said, what's the chances of becoming a remote member of the GACC? Id be proud to wear that jersey and support the cause behind it.
It really was a great ride. Great atmosphere the whole way round and loved the event village too. You’ll have to make a special trip down for it next time, mate. 👌🏻 As for the jerseys, I’d be honoured for you to wear a GACC jersey, but they have to be bulk ordered from Decathlon. That said, we might look at another supplier next time and GACC ‘merch’ might be something I could look at in the future…. I’ll keep you posted. 👌🏻
I love the trails just as much as the roads, to be honest, but Garmin set the route and I had slick road tyres on…. What can I say? 😂 Such a stunning part of the UK though. I definitely want to get back down there to sample the off road routes at some point. 👌🏻
Another beautifully shot video, Peter. Looks like a great event.
Cheers Lewis and yeh, it’s a great ride. Would defo recommend for next year if you’re not doing TdB again 👌🏻

Well done on the ride Peter, and the bike build!

I like the way Peter manages a work-grade job on a bike at an event #muchrespect 😁
Nothing like a bit of added pressure before a big ride... especially in 30˚ heat! 🥵🤣
Good to hear your happy with the new build. Thank you for the video.

Looked like a fantastic day, you can definitely see the wind in the trees. Makes for challenging riding but that's why we're riding!
Yeh, it was a mega headwind! Great ride though. 💪🏻
Phew, that was a hot day for a bike ride. Just back from Türkiye where it was 35 and cycling was the furthest thing from my mind.
Yeh, 35° is pool and Efes weather! 😂
That said, I’m off to Abu Dhabi in a couple of months and hoping to get some cycling in! ☀️

You were a trend setter on your Dogma, mate. 💪🏻😂
Made my debut this year, was a fantastic event. No red squirrels in the New Forest only greys. Isle of Wight have red ones
