      @Bamboo Training I’m not sold on what he’s doing really, but what I got from it is that the more you know, the more limitations you have. I could elaborate on what I’m saying, but I don’t truly know what he was getting at lol. Idk bro

      @Bamboo Training You don’t understand it at all then,and that’s okay.This is just a small snippet some random guy took from a few videos lmao.His point isn’t to be good at boxing at all,it’s simply head movement training /reaction training.He does EVERY movement he can.His job is to not specialize.Specialization has a price,as you see athletes who play one sports stay healthy but their body’s are always fucked up past 40.ALL OF THEM.Powerlifters,aesthetics people,basketball players,football(soccer),American football players,rugby,baseball,softball,all of them.Your body takes constant forces at the same place and at one point it breaks.Also Connor mc Gregor dosent reply to IG comments that much,does that make him a douchebag?Ido use to have a blog where he would reply to people.People who are successful and dedicated like him don’t have time to respond cause they’re focusing on their craft,they don’t waste time online like us,only to learn.

    He's got a point about the pursuit of aesthetics being a backwards pursuit that leads to a lot of mobility problems. After almost 10 years of powerlifting and bodybuilding I'm attempting to repair a lot of mobility issues and injuries from the ground up.

    Very impressive guy, and I like his attitude and approach. However, what he said about "superior movement" being the reason humans are on top of the food chain, is total nonsense. We are by no means the "best movers on the planet", we aren't even close. Compared to a very large number of animals, even the movement capability of people like Ido is a joke; just look at our primate cousins the Chimps. Compare Spider Monkeys and the natural balance of Felines and Goats. Sure, we're smart enough to train specific motions, but we have limits and power-to-weight that other creatures far exceed.
    The main reason humans are on the top of the food chain is intelligence coupled with an opposable thumb, as we can make tools and traps, and of the very few animals intelligent enough able to make and use tools (e.g. Crows), none have body parts as effective as primate's hands.

      "So yes the brain seems to have evolved, or I believe and many people will agree, as the instrument for motricity, the instrument to move. Now because it is so closely related to prediction and so closely related to intentionality when we make an impossible statement and say you know what, thinking may be nothing else but internalized movement. Why? Because it is through movement that we solve many things. And what is it that the brain basically does ultimately in all of us? What it does is generate premotor acts, inside it generates premotor events, all that we can do as human beings with our brain is activation of motor neurons, that is the only output. I tell my students you only activate muscles or you activate glands. To put it differently, you either move or drool, that's all you can do in life. Its true. Ok so you have this apparatus that defines movement beautifully, that predicts that has all sorts of hypotheses on which to act. So thinking is a premotor act. And therefore we are fundamentally moving animals that move intelligently. The more intelligent our movement, the more intelligent we are as animals."
      ~ Rodolfo Llinás, neuroscientist
      I would say that's "superior" movement.

      Yes you are right in certain aspects however humans are the only animals that can not only run but we can; crawl, invert, flip, climb, squat, hang, throw, grab, breath under water, swim, etc. In this way we are the best movers because we can move from land to water to the trees to mountains, just about anywhere. No other animal on earth can do the things that we can all together, they can do the individual movements better (such as run faster) but they are specialists not generalists, that is what makes us the best movers on earth.

    • @White1nsane
      @White1nsane 10 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      You did not listen Ido much as I can see.
      The reason WHY we are the best movers and on the top of the food chain is because we are able to adapt quickly and learn, mimic everything and anything (not to perfection), use tools for our movement research (gymnastic rings, balls, bikes, skateboard - all of it for the sake of movement).

    • @prithviraj6824
      @prithviraj6824 10 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      You took him wrongly!!! There is many interviews of Ido!!! In one of them he says we are best generalist movers and that's why we are on the top of the food chain!!! For ex : We can climb trees but not like chimps, we can swim but not like fish, we can run but not like cheetah!!! Chimps can't swim and run as fast as we do for a longer distance, cheetahs can't swim and climb a vertical tree like a palm tree!!! So we have the power to mimic almost every animal's pattern but not in a superior way!!! The reason he says humans are Superior is not because we can beat chimps in climbing and cheetahs in running but "We can do them all"
      Hope this clarified!!!

No. Your lack of understanding of the professionals within the MMA community doesn't define those people's worth. I'm sure you have heard of the Beatles, right? Can you name each of the producers / audio engineers that worked on their records? No, yet those people are highly valued and indispensable assets. Apparently you think getting a video on TH-cam is the ultimate achievement in talent and respect.

      James Murray Because TH-cam views define his success? When or if you ever become a professional, you will learn that the respect and admiration of your peers is much more valuable and useful towards your career goals than the attention of the random public or people on TH-cam. MMA fighters didn't just randomly pick up some bum off the street. He obviously had a reputation big enough to have professional fighters seek him out, which is far more important to his career than kids wearing Tapout gear fingering their keyboard.

  • @davpadlic
    @davpadlic 10 ปีที่แล้ว +72

    YES we are the best movers in the planet!!! I cannot imagine a chimp doing rings, or a tiger doing muscle ups, or an elephant performing a back flip, or a dog doing capoeira or yoga. We are capable of imitating any animal in the planet, maybe just a little bit, but there's no animal able to imitate our movements, we can dance, we can run, we can swim, we can jump, we can roll, we can plank, we can fight, we can build things, we can cook, we can manipulate technology, we can paint, we can film, we can have sex in amazing ways, and either you like it or not, all of this is movement! For does who say that we are not the best movers, you are saying that because you don't know how to move and you probably spend your day in a chair or just walking around! Open your mind and get out of that dogma!

    • @iamjustamazin
      @iamjustamazin 10 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I am sure you also need to open up your mind and get out of that dogma. Why? Because this is just a pointless argument. Sure it is inspirational, but really silly. Everything depends on the context and assumptions. We can't be the best movers on the planet, because we are inferior in water and we are absolutely nothing in air. Many animals can beat us at our own movements. In my opinion, being the best mover is not so much about our unique capability, but whether we can compete with other animals. Ability to dance, have sex in amazing ways and paint, does not exactly help us to escape from a hungry lion. Moreover, most animals are proficient at the things that they do, whereas humans aren't. An average person cannot do rings or planks or do a back flip, so how do they show that we are best movers? I do not know! And yes, I spend my day in a chair when I study or read, I walk around when I go somewhere. I also workout 3-4 times a week :D

    • @davpadlic
      @davpadlic 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Swordkiller show me a chimp driving a car or making crazy position while doingn sex or building a house or cooking gourmet or doing capoeira or back flips or doing an open hart surgery... because all that is movement to... don't be dogmatic dude.

    • @davpadlic
      @davpadlic 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Swordkiller Ido wasn't talking about surviving or beating up another ass or about earth pollution... he was talking about movement... and yes, I could tottaly have sex hanging from a tree with one hand and in an inverted position. And yes we can swing from trees like chimps if that was our gol. And what would be with our intelligence if we weren't able to move.... manipulating objets is movment either you like it or not... keep on arguing non-mover, im having fun with this

    • @wanashthegash
      @wanashthegash 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      David PL Please make a video of you, haning with your own weight, and the weight of girls from tree, thrusting a girl, i would like to see that :)
      Evolution has no goal, so you can impossible now what our "goal" is, since there is none, we have evolved into creatures of endurance, all creatures of the earth move, tell me 10 that dosn't move, at all, and is alive, even fucking trees move.
      Your arguments are vague, if there are any, none of what you say make sence, and you know nothing about my physical abilites.
      and it dosn't matter what he spoke about, what he said was incorrect, we are NOT the best "movers" on this planet.
      And iam sorry to say this, but EVERYTHING is about surviving, surviving of the fittest, natural selection.

    • @davpadlic
      @davpadlic 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Swordkiller to do that video i will need a girl with hanging abilities and a porn channel to upload it.
      When I mentioned goal, I didn't refer to evolution goal... I was taling about an specific goal. I don know why you want a list of 10 creatures thar doesn't move and I dont understand why you mentioned trees movements...
      My arguments are valid for profesional movers....
      Ido spoke for movers....
      And surviving depends on movmente but also can't understand why you mantioned surviving matter...
      Any way... this is like talkin about God's existence or politics... when opposite minds are confronted is very difficult to get to the point.
      Im sorry to say this but we evolved to what we are because of movement... thats why we stop walkin with 4 extremities and thats why our spine managed to be in a vertical position.
      Do you even squat PROPERLY?
      Greetings!

Guys in capoeira, gymnastics, break dancing, calisthenics, parkour, martial art tricks etc do these movements and much, much, more. Ido had not performed at high levels in any of those disciplines, but is marketing himself as some kind of expert and making a ton of money off of seminars... Smells like a scam.

To touch ones butt the best piece of equipment is the gymnastics rings, its not the bar, its not the dumbells, its not the cable, its not the machines, its not the dipping and pullup stations, its the gymnastics rings.

      The aim of Movement is more generalist. A major idea within movement is to be good on a set of movements that are very transferable between disciplines. So instead of getting high level in one or two disciplines, you get to be just good but at many more disciplines, and have an easier time learning new movement tasks regardless of discipline.
      He puts the exercises together differently and filters the bad info. I would say Ido is more of a Movement Curator than Movement Inventor. He has also created a community around movement.
      Hope to have clarified :)
