#1 fitness/wellness priority for anyone over the age of 40, especially heading towards 60? Strength? Nope. Cardio? Nope. Not even diet. It's _mobility_ . Without it, you're fuckled. So thanks for being the tip of the spear here, Josh.
@@skeith9144 I remember having a conversation with my father. He had health issues, one we were addressing on an ongoing basis, but I said to him "My prime concern isn't your cancer. Or your peripheral arterial disease, or your aortic aneurysms. It's your _mobility_." And I was right. Granted, we're talking about someone on the latter portions of their life, but this applies to _everyone_. Especially in our seated culture. (Let's not get into 'head-forward syndrome'.) I work on my mobility daily, because I'm a writer. Do I do enough? Nope. Do I wish I'd starter earlier in my life? As in my 20s and 30s? Yup. What's utterly invaluable in what Josh teaches us...and others, such as Ido Portal, or the channel FitnessFaqs...is that in doing things from a bodyweight, calisthenics approach, you intrinsically address mobility. As opposed to, for example, people who work out with weights, 'bodybuilders' from one end of the continuum to the other. When you have great mobility, everything else is possible. Without it? In the words of that modern-age philosopher, 'Good luck with that.'
I remember when I first started doing movements like these... it was weird, it felt strange, where was the barbell and dumbbells? But it also felt oh so natural, and oh so good. The movement that you did at the beginning of the video to warm up?!?. Your body mind connection is just amazing to watch. Kudos
This is - hands down - the most primal man bun I've seen in my whole life!
A primal man would be busy doing things like gathering wood, food or bringing water to live. Not making TH-cam videos.
We got these dudes and ladies all over LA and they are homeless.
Haters
Absolutely LOVE the content, keep doing what you do brother.
Brilliant ! This is the future of fitness
You are so rite
haha i agree, the future is doing old stuff, kind of cRAZY
Merci beaucoup.
Je suis une femme de 65 ans et vous proposez exactement ce dont j'ai besoin à ce moment de ma vie.
Mobilité, force et amusement !
Et la possbilité de pratiquer tranquillement chez soi.
My favourite move was the little kid skipping through the woods in the background at 2:20. True freedom of expression through movement from a 3 year old!
ah yes back when all the primal cavemen mastered the art of Dark Souls rolling in order to evade predators
Nailed it! well let's say pegged it!! primal men hadn't discovered forging iron...
Your videos are very inspiring brother, I am a little obssessed with strength and endurance, and always neglected mobility and movement a little bit. Since I've started following your channel I'm more and more compelled to experiment and explore my movement... It feels so awesome, kinda like an artform. Thanks for the content
I can do these but i dont have rippling, glistening, bronze musculature... :(
@jimmy Adams what is wrong with you
@@youssefbenyahia9448 He's not wrong yknow
Get to work bud 💪🏾🔥
@jimmy Adams so, decrease my daily activity???😂
you lucky bastard
Yes, it’s great to be young. 😮
Love that person in the background at 2:15 who had come to the woods to frollick. Frollicking is not only for meadows, you know.
I like the half cartwheel 🤸♂️ I can feel it opening and strengthing my shoulders simultaneously. I also I feel it in my hips, knees & forearms. It seems very practical for the average joe. The full cartwheel currently in unattainable to me but I look forward to getting there with more core and arm strength as well as a straighter and healthier spine. Great video! Thank for sharing!!
I keep my Bed on the Floor it helps my back and my legs. I don't have back problems anymore.
Good idea. What is your age and how long have you been keeping your bed on the floor. I'm 79 do you think this can help me. ?
@@rogerambrose5564 Sleeping on a hard surface is scientifically proven to help with back pain and stiffness, as well as body posture
Roger Ambrose I used to have muscle spasm because bed with frames. When I start sleeping on the floor with my bed I have no more muscle spasm in my back.
Like only the matress on the floor or the slatted frame too ?
@@DizzyOP396 As thin of a mattress as possible straight onto the floor, no frame required. Just search "benefits of sleeping on the floor" or something on TH-cam
I love these moves and wish I had a personal trainer with your skills in Florida. I started practicing these moves every morning, today was day one! You have something magical about your teaching style, so chillax 😉
Okay, it's been 4 months, how you doing? Are you still doing it? Did it worked?
Me too to relax me 💯
The one among the very few channel that got me subscribed after watching a single video. Thanks for the quality of information, time and effort that you share...
Inspirational stuiff brother. I'm 30 years old and Iv'e just begun my movement journey and appreciating every moment of it.
That's how every UFC fighter trains. Underwear Forest Capoeira.
Touch-butt in the park.
Why a dark soul why an enlightened soul?
love the opening🔱🔱KING OF THE WORLD👑👑
primal seems simple,, SIMPLY PHENOMENAL 🤟🤟🤟 could not have a better setting
So true man. Simplicity!
Dude, I like this new video format a ton.
me too. Props to the videographer
Thanks,it opened my eyes.Made a lot of fitness " workout". Mobility and strength in it's right form is what you are demonstrating
Love that you put the foward roll in.. i juat spontaneously started doing that after my stretching session and then i remembered seeing the thumbnail of your 5 primal moves..and here we are. Excited to learn all of them :)
Really loved it, expecially with that music and location in front of the sea/ocean! ♥️
I love the vib in this vid.
Hi. This is capoeira, man. Come here to Brazil to learn more about “descolonização do corpo”. This is the work I do with my people in the street. Hugs!
Don't know Portuguese but I'm guessing that says "decolonise the body"?
@@Threezi04 yes! But, don't think that this concept is "the thing", ok? Decolonization os more then you can read qnd speack. You must feel. Sorry about my English. If you want tô know "my" work... www.gingas.org.br ... hugs!
Capoeira is Exú, Exú is moviment.
The degree of peacefulness I'm feeling while watching this is wow
Your exercises are excellent; simple, manageable (even for a stiff 55 year old who has spent far too much time being sedentary) and yet extremely powerful and far reaching in the range of muscles they target. Best feeling movements I have felt outside of the Ashtanga yoga that I used to be devoted to (yes I fell off the path and became lazy).
I love the happy accident of the child skipping through the frame @2.30+ -! Kid knows where it's at!
I don’t know who this man is but damn he is finnneeee
Could you please post your regular workout program?
People are all bundled up in the back ground and heres this guy in shorts
Hes gotta show off those muscles he worked so hard for.
@@yurjhr1662 no he's fucking primal
Anfreedom could you tell us more about it? Thanks!
This video was my starting point in movment/primal movment.
Great 5 movments to open up to this great world of strength/agility/mobility in an natural way that suits our physiology.
YOU ARE AN AWESOME BEING OF LIGHT
Brilliant I am starting to practice this. Very graceful. Regards cliff australia
Connecting with your inner child begins with being able to move like that child.Have an awesome ascension journey. 🙏🏻😊

Love the music! Mind sharing what’s it is ??
Song of Mirrors - Unicorn Heads.
Omg! great music one of your best videos ever I had youtube just playin I had to see the videoing, the scenery, you, music perfect thanks!!
I think i found my turning point ..thank you for simple and on point .. trying it tomorrow
You’re liquid mate. Some excellent workout possibilities with these moves. Mixing weighted, body weight and a slow moving exercise ie Qui Gong, tai chi etc or even capoeira gymnasts makes great sense. Nice video and awesome presentation. Look forward to more goodness. Thanks
Think I'll try the 'Crawl Switch Under' and the 'Bear Walk'; you make them look easy, as a beginner with some fitness and strength these look like the two I could try and work on mastering.
Whilst I'm here, more beginner/ intermediate follow along workouts would be great. 20-30 minutes perhaps?
I'm enjoying your recent beginner video and improving, but variations and a longer follow along video would be much appreciated.
Blessings and thanks.
Josh definitely makes it look easy but these moves do take time and attention. I have a lot of follow along primal movement workouts on my channel, you might find them helpful as you build your practice. Best wishes!
Yes check out Movement Parallels Life you won't be disappointed!
Must be the real deal: beard, manbun, and tattoo.
Haha, things to make up for the little real deal down south
Just missing the energy crystals
Thats what a man is these days apparently. Tatoos and a beard means you are an instant badass
"Then mouth, and ay-NUSS, perfectly in line, yes yes that's it, now back into my pelvis!"
@@DMD81773 what does that have to do with anything ? He's in an incredible shape, he's got a successful business, he's good looking and a good guy overall. That's what a man is for me.
Thank you!
I always thought i had to do boring gym stuff to achieve a certain look or health and it didn`t feel good... but through your vidoes i remembered that it brings joy to move and that it`s fun to be able to do stuff with your body like rolls, etc.. and just playing around
Thank you for sharing♡ i am motivated, feeling good and excited to grow
I'm motivated just for the backdrop. Crawl switch under. Thanks for sharing.
Did the camera man totally miss the sasquatch figure walking through the forest during the tucked cartwheel?
That was a primal walk.
@@DiscoFang i came back to like this comments hahahah
I was searching for this comment to make sure I wasn’t the only one who saw that hahaha
You serious ?
#1 fitness/wellness priority for anyone over the age of 40, especially heading towards 60? Strength? Nope. Cardio? Nope. Not even diet. It's _mobility_ . Without it, you're fuckled. So thanks for being the tip of the spear here, Josh.
100% Correct......I learned the hard way...you cannot maximize the other components of fitness w/o mobility first
@@skeith9144 I remember having a conversation with my father.
Directions unclear; I'm now a pretzel.
The most wholesome part of this video is the kid in the background just being carefree skipping and running in the background
Exceptionnel, beaucoup d'harmonie et ... La musique aussi qui va parfaitement avec la superbe démonstration ... Thank you Strength Side !!
