I need help. The whole method worked until at login when I was in the middle of opening command prompt. For a few minutes I was double checking the video and command prompt closed on its own without me pressing anything. I pressed the shift key 5 times again and it didn't open. I even did the whole method in this video all over again, but now command prompt isn't opening. What do I do?
@@GMODISM Yes, but nothing has changed. Plus, I renamed Command prompt (cmd) to sethc, and now for whatever reason another program labeled as sethc is showing up and no command prompt. Plus, now whenever I hit shift 5 times, it just asks me if I want to turn on sticky keys, and pressing yes or no does nothing. And now I don't know what to do.

I'm plenty tech savvy & I'm the guy everyone to 4 stuff in XP/Vista/10, but Thanx a lot for this! I had already tried about 10 other ways to do this which all failed, used a Win Vista method I'd used for getting a local radio host back into their work PC, tried changing CMD via removing the drive & accessing on another PC, but all the drives, even root were write-locked for anyone other than the drives original Admin. Plus it had some extra security I wasn't counting on. You made what was already a long process so much quicker. Now my friends mom can have hers back & I can get back my gaming laptop I loaned her!

Your tutorial is good, but the only other thing that should be mentioned is that you should add quotes if your user name is split eg. "Joe Smith" otherwise the rest was good and worked fine.

Amazing thank you. I do have a question. I tried to change things back to the sethc55 back to its original file name, but it said I needed permission. So I figured I had to follow the steps again to change it. When I tried it, it corrected itself. So now I have a sethc and a sethc55. Is that ok?

As soon as I'm about to click the online privacy statement link an HP Recovery Manager window pops up - which I can't get out of. When I exit that it reboots the computer and it's back to square one.
