@@Taophysique I'm so glad I found your channel cause just like what happened to you I've been weightlifting for a while and it was getting boring and while watching Austin Dunham (I was just barely getting into calisthenics) I saw a video of yours on rings and I watched it and it looked so cool and fun. So thank you for inspiring me to learn more and get gains while having a blast doing it. (Also all my friends who used to hate working out have actually started trying out calisthenics so more bros to workout because of calisthenics!)

There are 2 types of people: Ones that like to go slow and steady, and ones that like being spontaneous and exciting.
Lifting weights is generally for the slow and steady folks, since it's easy for them to plan it out and see their progress. Calisthenics is for us spontaneous peeps since we need some element of excitement in our activities.

Just got my wood rings few weeks ago from Rep Fitness, and man they're the BEST equipment that I ever bought for bodyweight training in the next level! My most favorites would be using them for push ups and especially dips. The instability when doing them is amazing as it really does force you to work much harder in balancing yourself to be still when doing proper reps. I feel way more contraction work on my chest for push ups and dips and I love how I am able to move my wrist freely to contract them hard. 10/10 anyone who's into bodyweight training or wanting to do something new to level up their calisthenics skills, gymnastic rings (mainly good quality wood material) are worth to get!

Amen, I lifted in a gym for 9 years before discovering the rings (I mean actually buying a pair and using em, thank you corona virus) and they changed my life. The workout is definetly more engaging and the strength building is guaranteed, it's impossible to half ass a ring workout the way you can half ass it in the gym if you're feeling "tired"! Also I love training outdoors on a nice sunny day, especially in the woods or on the beach! You can't do that shit in the stinky gyms full of ego lifters screaming their asses off during each rep lol, and also im Bulgarian, it's like my nature called me to do rings! Great video my guy!

I just started recently, and found its pretty much harder than working with bars. My whole body is shaking crazy and i managed to stabilize myself after some couple of static holds. Pull ups are not a problem but dips are hard.
Even though it cannot completely replace free weights , its fun and i'm lovin it. Combining it with weight training is much reliable.

I ordered my rings about a month ago after finding your channel and they're the best investment I've made since getting a gym membership 🔥
On the topic on rings being bad for leg training, one use I found for them is bulgarian split squats, they feel much much better than using a bench and they're really good to help you balance on one leg. If you want to target the glutes you can lean forward into a sprinter position.

@@victorhernandez1857 ooh good to see you utilizing the rings to fit your training.
But just from one workout lover to another, I'd really recommend you find other quad exercises cause sissy squats put your knees in a really dangerous spot. th-cam.com/video/gTNXexJ8WLU/w-d-xo.html
Obviously, don't listen to me if you think otherwise, but I'm hoping that this would caution you if you feel any pain at all.

But once I tried them, I never quit

    You the man!!!!
I thought i wasn’t advanced enough for rings and was going to wait until I got the handstand down to build up some solid upper body strength but I might just pull the trigger and buy some

I also use the rings for legs: Bulgarian squat with a ring on the back foot, matrix extensions with the tape behind the knees, hamstring curls with hands on rings or the other way around, with feet inside them .... there are many exercises. Greetings from Spain!

Became a fan during lockdown, and transitioned to rings which I'm loving... One question I wondered if you could help with... I do one hour sessions of six exercises (5x10) with two minute breaks, progressing through difficulty. Push/pull days with a day off in-between. Does that sound like a good approach?
