1, new channel. 2, Its Multiversus. 3, It Steven Multiversus. Are channels just supposed to get 100k subs within a month cause I see these comments tons.
Two words why i play Steven: Air Mobility. Steven's float ability, projectile platform, shield, and Up Special makes him the floatiest character in the game who specializes in top of the screen ring outs. You can pretty much get back on stage from anywhere on screen.
The show isnt even bad. If I had a complaint it would be the fact the ending was rushed. The gem world should of been a build up arc and the arc after should of been the confrontation of the diamonds. Yeah you can tell I watch too much one piece...
@@itzYonko Thats what they wanted to do. BUt the execs wanted to cancel the show after the Garnet wedding. SO they had to just rush the final arc to make sure the story finished properly
I love Steven Universe, my wife and I even played an episode at our wedding… so I was bummed he felt so weak… when I play him the things that feel like you can actually knock people out with are just too stationary, and too slow usually leaving you open to getting interrupted… wish he was either a touch faster or could eat some hits to not get interrupted so easily… the watermelon guy would be cooler if he shadowed you doubling all your strikes and mirroring your attacks but a second delayed
I mained Steven in the beta even though I was kinda garbage with him. His shield mechanics are just so fun and creative and it’s hilarious seeing people bounce all over the place. It seems he definitely got buffed in the full release because I now consistently destroy people. Sad they got rid of the bubble collider but oh well
I wish I knew bro. It always blew my mind that Steven, the healing, defensive support, known in his show for specifically being the only person who can heal, has the worst heals out of anyone in the game with a heal.
I was one of the highest steven mains out there ( my highest was top 1000! ), so i can really atest to alot of this. One of steven's strongest moves imo is his Shield bash Upward. insanely fun kill option and surprisingly one of the easiest to land. Very versatile when paired with Shield shot Horizontal! While it's used mostly to come back up from a fall, you can actually hold the button down of the shield bash (upward) and you will float down waaaaay better than the built in glide that he has, due to the amount of air control he gets. Its odd but it's really good use if an opponent knocks you hella far. Hell, It can literally save you from surefire Ring outs. One of the safest options Steven has is his Surf Shield ability, due to the hit box on that thing being so damn tall and it can linger for soooo long. Not to mention when landing that very move on someone's head, it makes steven fly back up in the air and do a new crazy spike move! (think sonic's spike move from any smash game.) It's a very good poking tool for most characters. (i cant remember if its immune to grabs though......... superman players were a bane of my existence.) I play my steven probably different from alot of people, i play him very rushdown-like, i often don't give my opponets too much room unless im quite forced to; Shaggy and his projectiles and Armor, Superman's grabs, etc, etc. Watermelon steven comes into clutch 50% of the time in 1v1's, but using him in 2v2's feels so pointless. Believe it or not, i struggled quite abit with steven's shield! i thought 3 charges was a little too hard to get around. i often more times than not ended up using shield when i could've simply used any one of my other offensive shield options. ALSO, His Forward Arial is VERY good. If you know how to drag some moves, you can drag steven's forward arial down, and it creates a pretty good protected lingering hitbox as well, 8/10 they would need to be above or behind me to not get hit by it. I have more steven tid bits, but that covers most of what i would say his strong suits also lies in. But very nice video to see of him!
Glad to see more in depth discussion on his moves in the comments! I didn't want to lose the focus of the video in my script so I tried to keep my points concise so I couldn't cover his full moveset as much as I liked so it's nice to see that people can get more information if they're curious from the comments.
I remember it was an in-joke in a community i was in that Steven was listed as a horizontal-killing character, but almost every kill he got was with upward Shield Bash.
Halfway into this video and honestly I find it REALLY interesting how Steven seems like an excellent support character for 2v2 but struggles in singles. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fighting game character work like that
There's a few characters like that in brawlhalla, the game's kinda going through a 2v2 vs 1v1 debate right now because a lot of characters that are weak in ones, had to be nerfed because in 2s their weaknesses are non-existent, but that in turn, makes em even weaker in ones
As a fan of the show I tried playing Steven and Garnet without really liking either one lol. This video has definitely shed a light on why, at least for Steven's part. I'd be intrigued to see your take on Batman as he was my main. It's been a while (I stopped playing after Gizmo came out and even before then I played casually) but I vividly remember Batman's core direction as a character seemingly changed every patch. Sometimes his kit would revolve around Batarang, then it'd be Grappling Hook, then it'd be Up Special... Maybe the video could be about the most patched characters, or the most inconsistent character identities? Something like that.
You know, I really like this idea actually! There's quite a few characters who's identity would change a lot from patch to patch. I actually started out as a Shaggy main but then swapped to Batman because I felt like they were buffing his risky options and taking away his ability to deal with other options so the jack-of-all-trades slowly became a dedicated pub stomper. I'll definitely put this one on the list!!

I really enjoyed this video! I hope you keep making vids like this on MVS because we really need this type of content for MVS. I was maining Steven for a while but always felt he was both too good and too bad in the beta, some of his moves (like the down special) just being... bad or his good moves being like janky. I'm hoping they polished him up and feel excited to try him in the release!
The worst thing for me was them getting rid of his infinite and in turn breaking his nair to where it just didn’t work which they didn’t fix for multiple games while letting bugs and Harley keep their infinites

Hello, Steven main who spent way too much time in the lab here (helped light whisp lab a 1 frame forward air cancel that led to dash jump down special spike from mid stage). Bubbling your opponent actually led to a guaranteed kill, you just had to look at the in game clock, and then set up another Steven bomb at the right second, and then jump up to the person in the bubble as it had a set timer where it would expire, and then ups special to bring them high enough to die. So bubble was much better than most thought.
I remember hearing about this! I remembered that you could time options to hit exactly when the shine of the bubble got to a specific point. It definitely had a lot of unexplored potential.
Nice video! back when the game was out I was number 2 steven on the 1v1 leaderboard. a few things coming from my perspective, down tilt although is slow like you said it has a lot more range than youd expect, and since you can combo out of it, it is something to deal with armor if spaced correctly and can lead into a devastating steven blender. and down special should be better yes but but watermelon is so underrated, green thumb perk is my go to (bounce bubble perk lesses the stun from bouncing off his shields) and watermelon steven can become a bit of a menace. his attack is active and does 14 and kills when he is fully grown and he increases in weight. if you are able to play with the melon well in can be a bit of a surprise for the opponent, more so in 1s although. if you have any questions i am open to answering them :)
hey i main as steven too when the game releases would you be down to play some rounds together it can be 2v2 or 1v1 im trying to get better with him during the beta i got to level 30 with him
@santanavigil1805 well, there is a parsec server people still play this game on. If you'd like I'll send you a link to the server if you send me a private message. Through there I'll be willing to do some games with ya.
This was a wonderful video! You honestly brought up weaknesses I forgot/didn’t think of because the community was so afraid of Steven being good they convinced themselves he was this god amongst men. Very clear and concise and I hope to see you around when the game comes out!
My guy your both of your videos and your shorts are so well done! One of the best content creators I have seen for this game, very excited to see what more you do when the full game launches, you have crazy potential
As someone who got ranked top 100 with Steven in 1’s when the game came out (or when it first was open for public testing i guess), shield surf was literally 90% of what I did with Steven because it just felt so damn satisfying to bounce off people into combos
This is a great video! I don’t even main Steven but I kept watching. Keep going :) Would love to see this series tackle other characters in the roster! Black Adam? 👀
I think Black Adam is SUPER fun! I got a good list of characters I'd love to do a deep dive into. A lot of the Multiversus cast is really unique with a lot to talk about imo
They should give him the ability to throw his shield and watch it bounce around where it can hit anyone even your own teammates but after it get reflected/ blocked 3 times it disappears
I like playing steven to set up walls and floors to build my own little fortress so that when people enter it i have practice with this new stage hazard
when playing the beta i felt like steven was the most broken character in the game due to all of his abilities for 2s. In 1v1 he struggles with no fast buttons to mash / ways to break armor. i would love a rework of his down special to make him able to camp a bit more because, shielding is it's thing but you dont win a game by shielding. In 2s i think he is broken with super good juggle, combos and kill power, the ability to help allies by the press of a button + heals + shields to camp for cooldowns + the steven bomb being one the best tools to isolate opponents and run them down
Instead of the Steven Universe characters, Gumball or Regular Show characters could be included. Although Dexter and the Powerpuff Girls are fortunately already confirmed by the two new confirmed stages.
What are your thoughts on the quality of the gameplay in 1v1 and does it have the same quality as 2v2? I would like to hear other people's opinions on the matter
I'll probably make a full video on it when the full game is out since, I think that the current gameplay will be much different buuuut With the build we have right now, I personally think 2's works much better as a format as players are rewarded more for things like positional and general game plans more than mind games and reads. It's just really difficult to actually lock down and hit people with how fast they move and how little whiff lag they have, even if you have a read on them. I do acknowledge that 1's is always going to be more accessible though since anyone can just boot up and play without needing to find a 2'd partner that's available. I wanna reiterate though that from the gameplay changes we've seen, I think the game will be MUCH better for both 1's and 2's and I likely will make a full video on that after the game drops
when i think about steven in a fighting game i think about how he's a passivist who hates fighting and suffers ptsd in his sequel from all the time he was forced to fight for his life i think a better and honestly funny buff for Steven is to make a new character as his adult pink form when he try's taking care of his ptsd in a very unhealthy way of training and fighting till he accidently killed someone
Your thumbnail is crossing a dangerous place, the Steven Universe fanbase is full of videos shitting on the show for no reason and I think everyone is tired of it. I would suggest making it more clear that it is as a character in Multiversus because you're probably losing a few people. Aside from that great video, I didn't get the chance to play Multiversus as a beta because of hardware limitations but I'm super hyped to finally play it and the small TH-cam community that makes these non gameplay focused videos is really fun
It would make more sense to have Steven be stronger or faster while the Water Melon guy is out; this way you're forced to get rid of the Melon Boy or let Steven be knocking heads around.
a change i would love if they change his ult to become, pink steven they can make him faster while also giving him higher knock back and priority and increased ability regen for team the trade off can be he takes more damage
I like steven because of the little minion he summons. I root for that little guy every time I summon him. Though I'm not really a steven main I don't think.
You know, while I don't think he's F Tier, I do think he's overrated and not great on 2's. Who knows? I may even have something in the works talking about overated characters and another about characters who are good in 1's but not good in 2's...
as a finn player, i do think Finn is better in 1v1 but i still think Finn was a strong 2s pick, not as strong as velma or Superman in their prime but finns Gem being able to just cover so much space without u being their and his grounded side b breaking projectiles and being able to be canceled made him really strong
Really great video i would love to see a video about arya in this type everyone was really mad at arya at some point and alot of my friends even quit the game or start to play arya to ... I would like to see the reason for that
Can you do a full video on the gremlins, they were so fun to play, i also feel like everyone forgets the evolved gremlin was in the game cause how bad the game fell off😭
I will probably talk about Stripe at some point for sure. Like you said, he was a menace but he dropped around the time popularity for the game was waning so there wasn't nearly enough discussion on just how crazy he was.
So I just kinda threw this list together really quickly to use it as a prop for this video, but my last video before the game officially drops will most likely be something like "The Final Multiversus Beta Tier List" so be sure to stay tuned and subscribe if you haven't already! I think it'll be fun to use as a base of discussion and look back at and compare the differences once the game officially launches.
It was removed from a stores and the servers went down, but if you already had the game in your library, you could re-dowload it and play it locally still so that's how I'm getting the footage at least. The game does drop with it's full release on May 28th though with improved online, improved graphics and new gameplay mechanics!
LightWhisp was my college roommate during the beta, this guy would practice for like 6 hours a day in our colleges floor lounge and I always asked him why they wouldn’t just nerf Steven because he’s so busted. His response was always along the lines of ‘find a tournament winning steven player that’s not me and I’ll write the letter myself’ 💀 I apologize lightwhisp I was unfamiliar with your game
Garnet is a really interesting character from much of the beta and has an interesting patch history as well! However, after looking over some of the system changes from the gameplay we've seen, I really wanna eventually make a video about the biggest winners and losers with the system changes and I think a BIG part of the winners is going to be about Garnet so we shall see once the game releases! If not, I probably will still make a video on Garnet regardless! Very cool character.

They should give him the ability to throw his shield and watch it bounce around where it can hit anyone even your own teammates but after it get reflected/ blocked 3 times it disappears
I like playing steven to set up walls and floors to build my own little fortress so that when people enter it i have practice with this new stage hazard
Sup’s is CRAZY lmaooo I love his moveset 😂
I went from a top 50,000 steven main to a top 1,000 shaggy main in the beta, I was literally number 2 steven main at one point in solos
holy shit I suck I'm a wonder Woman main and had no idea I can hold the shield out and move around until I saw that clip.
when playing the beta i felt like steven was the most broken character in the game due to all of his abilities for 2s.
I would love buffs to the watermelon clones because they dont do much but are super fun to sue
What are your thoughts on the quality of the gameplay in 1v1 and does it have the same quality as 2v2? I would like to hear other people's opinions on the matter
I'll probably make a full video on it when the full game is out since, I think that the current gameplay will be much different buuuut
With the build we have right now, I personally think 2's works much better as a format as players are rewarded more for things like positional and general game plans more than mind games and reads.
As one of the 5 Steven mains I just love his down air… 😈
little did u know when the game came out again hed become a S tier slaying demon. Hes the new jake
when i think about steven in a fighting game i think about how he's a passivist who hates fighting and suffers ptsd in his sequel from all the time he was forced to fight for his life i think a better and honestly funny buff for Steven is to make a new character as his adult pink form when he try's taking care of his ptsd in a very unhealthy way of training and fighting till he accidently killed someone
A skilled Steven can beat any Superman
When Roy gets out in this game, we're cooked.
Your thumbnail is crossing a dangerous place, the Steven Universe fanbase is full of videos shitting on the show for no reason and I think everyone is tired of it. I would suggest making it more clear that it is as a character in Multiversus because you're probably losing a few people.
Aside from that great video, I didn't get the chance to play Multiversus as a beta because of hardware limitations but I'm super hyped to finally play it and the small TH-cam community that makes these non gameplay focused videos is really fun
actually a funny and interesting video. keep it up!
10:00 As someone who co-mains Steven and WW, can confirm all of this lol.
Fr though, he's fun as hell, his combo game is silly.
I didn't even know Multiversus characters HAD ults
@@dragonic22 I'm talking about the passive my b
I was a Steven Main for 1v1 it was so much fun
I like steven because of the little minion he summons. I root for that little guy every time I summon him. Though I'm not really a steven main I don't think.
great video! now make a video on why finn is f tier
I would like to see the reason for that
I will never escape that meme
Steven is bad? shittt no one told me i was clappin cheeks with him most of the beta 😂😂
I can just imagine what you'd do if he ever gets buffed
Can you do a full video on the gremlins, they were so fun to play, i also feel like everyone forgets the evolved gremlin was in the game cause how bad the game fell off😭
I will probably talk about Stripe at some point for sure.
Like you said, he was a menace but he dropped around the time popularity for the game was waning so there wasn't nearly enough discussion on just how crazy he was.
8:39 I'm kinda curious, where is marvin on this tier list
So I just kinda threw this list together really quickly to use it as a prop for this video, but my last video before the game officially drops will most likely be something like "The Final Multiversus Beta Tier List" so be sure to stay tuned and subscribe if you haven't already!
I think it'll be fun to use as a base of discussion and look back at and compare the differences once the game officially launches.
W video
They shouldve left iron giant broken specifically for little ol' me
Friendly reminder that the 2v2 mode is the main one.
steven main here 🤙🏾
Yooo 1 of 5 Steven Mains!
Imma need a video on lebron in this game. He was so fun.
Hi I'm one of those 5 steven Mains and I can confirm
I actually really like Steven he’s the only one that really feels like a Smash character. And he has a goddamn shield!!!!
they made him shit again, us steven mains stay suffering
This is such a great video I just wanna say tho the transitions between each segment are kinda underwhelming and clunky
Always appreciate the feedback! I'll be sure to try to make a smoother adjustment in the next video
How are you already playing Multiversus? I thought it was removed!
It was removed from a stores and the servers went down, but if you already had the game in your library, you could re-dowload it and play it locally still so that's how I'm getting the footage at least.
The game does drop with it's full release on May 28th though with improved online, improved graphics and new gameplay mechanics!
Bro I am one of the 5 Steven mains and he’s really not THAT bad. People just don’t know what they’re doing.
Great vid! 🤟
please make a video on velma pls thanks
1:27 This is comedy
I really thought this was a series retrospective.
He was my main he's extremely good
Missed the perfect opportunity for clickbait
I am praying Pearl gets added to this game
0:30 mahoraga ahh positivity
I used to main steven and batley lost against anyone except the superman and shaggy spanmers
It's in Beta? Wasn't the game out already?
Nah, the game was just in open beta before. It's full release comes out later this month on May 28th!
@@RPS_FGC got it, thanks!
how do you do the combo at 5:06? I can't make it connect
I wish I could tell ya bro. I had to get my 2's partner the Steven main to step in for this one.
will we get one for garnet too :o ?
Garnet is a really interesting character from much of the beta and has an interesting patch history as well!
However, after looking over some of the system changes from the gameplay we've seen, I really wanna eventually make a video about the biggest winners and losers with the system changes and I think a BIG part of the winners is going to be about Garnet so we shall see once the game releases!
If not, I probably will still make a video on Garnet regardless! Very cool character.
I was one of the five Steven mains lmao
wow, great video!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I MAINED THIS DUDE HE WAS SO BUSTED
finally, a mutual superman D1 hater
I thought this games servers got shut down
They did, but they're coming back on May 28th with it's full release!
I was a top 400 1v1 Steven and god did I hate Superman it was so much pain
im a steven main and in all honesty i think he's fine as is the only thing that needs to be looked at is the water melon cause it's really useless
Watermelon imo is definitely the biggest offender in this video, big agree.
for the beta i main Steven the dog
Bro I used to main Steven universe
