Im so happy you took the time to really give background and history on Bulgaria. Even though Bulgaria is a nation with more people leaving % wise than anywhere else - I am immensly proud to be Bulgarian for all the good reasons you have shared here! Thanks EAL.
I'm very lucky, I have an apartment on this resort. I have played the course over a hundred times, and I'm still taking photos. The other two courses nearby give great variety for golf tours, and there's also two wonderful beaches on this resort for families. I spoke to many of the professionals during the 2013 Volvo Matchplay and they were all blown away by it. And Gary Player says it's the most beautiful golf course he's designed or seen. So, okay, we're both biased but I'm so glad you've shown the independent view and share our love of this course. It was also great that you took the time to also refelct on Bulgaria and it's culture. Having visited many times I can tell you that they share all our aspirations to improve their economy and family lives and I'm glad to call many my friends.
One of the best episodes thus far in all AIG seasons. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project. Can't wait to fly out there and see it for myself.
As a recent golf addict and also a long time Bulgarian, I have been so excited to see this ever since you guys announced on the podcast you were visiting Bulgaria. I’m hoping this inspires a few more of my fellow countrymen to take the game on. And if there are any Bulgarians in the RGC community in the UK, please hit me up, would love to meet some of you guys. Much love ❤
Over the years I've been fortunate to play golf in many places around the world 🌍 Thracian Cliffs is by far my favourite course to play. I've been to Bulgaria on three operate occasions for golf and the experience is fantastic each and every time ⛳ If you're considering an overseas golf trip then Bulgaria has to be on your list.
I’ve been visiting Bulgaria since 1989 and played golf at Thracian Cliffs a couple times. For any golfer… I highly recommend!! What an awesome overview. Наздраве!!!
This course reminds me of the Cabot Cliffs in Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 Bulgaria 🇧🇬 is now on my bucket list and this episode is also my favourite now. Not just because of the amazing course but because of how much it clearly means to those people. Thanks Skratch and EAL
This video makes me so happy that I actually looked up ticket prices going to Bulgaria. This will definitely be a great addition to my list of must-play courses before I die. Thank you Erik for sharing this to all of us. I hope to play the most beautiful course in the world, hopefully soon.
Great Video I met Galen around 5 years ago and can still call him a friend , I've played here around 10 times and it gets better every time , Compliments to the all the team
You can always count on EAL and AIG/Skratch to deliver the best golf travel content. So slick, creative, visually breathtaking. Thanks AIG for all the hard work you do.
This brought a deeper respect for golf and the human spirit. The intricacies of an economically fledgling nation being intertwined with an age old game, and epic course are going to be a recipe for amazing stories to come! Thanks Erik. 🙏🏌⛳
The only thing I know about Bulgaria is the exchange student that lived with us for a few months when I was like 7. She put ketchup on everything. everything. Other than that, I knew absolutely nothing about Bulgaria, and I have a bachelors degree. This video taught me more about Bulgaria than college and high school combined. lol.
Thank you, Eric. In 2014 my wife had the great pleasure to play this scenic and hard, long course. The iconic 6th hole is a challenge for every golfer. We stayed at the Lighthouse and played there as well and met an excellent pro, who was of great help for us to master the 6th.
Riveting, fascinating, educational ( I did not know) and too short! I could have been watching for ages. I love these, thank you ……….an escape into imagination, for just a few minutes, wonderfully narrated.
What a beautiful place. It’s wonderful as well to see the optimism expressed, and the encouragement extended. Certainly makes me feel happy. Thanks for sharing!
Played the Course with 15 of my friends in 2016! Breathtaking and in perfect condition! I never lost so many balls in one Golfround, never found so many either..🙈😂We stayed in the Thracian Cliffs Villas on the course! Really nice are also Black Sea Rama and Lighthouse Golfclub. Amazing that EAL did find a way to give a history lession while featuring the course. Some of the most spectacular Holes didn’t make the cut unfortunately. If you have the opportunity, please visit this bucket list course! You’ll be wishing to play it more often!
I think AIG is one of the only youtube series here I find myself anxiously waiting for the next episode, knowing it will be amazing and then being blown away by the artistry, story telling, and beauty of each episode! Thank you Skratch golf and EAL for continually giving me a new #1 golf course for me to visit every time you release a new video. I do think this will be top for a very long time though.
Great report. If you do get back to Bulgaria please do a video on the mountain courses -- Pirin, Pravets, St Sofia, and I believe there's a Nicklaus course but don't know if it's open to the public.
Very nice episode. I live part-time in Varna, which is 50 km from the golf courses at the Black Sea. I am a member at Lighthouse Golf, and I organize golf trips to Bulgaria. Not all the information in the video is 100% accurate. At the moment, there are 6 courses in Bulgaria, and the 7th is currently under construction. Additionally, the Euro will not be introduced in January 2024; although there were plans, they have been postponed. These are small details that don't take away from the excellent production quality of your video. Congratulations! I will definitely embed this video on my Golf in Bulgaria website about our golf trips. Thank you.
Awesome, but your Nepal videos are still the most mystical and I loved golfing Pokhara after dreaming about it for so long, thanks for opening our eyes to the world of possibilities in golf
Eric my oldest son married a wonderful girl who migrated to the US from communist Bulgaria with her grandparents . Her grandfather was a MD in Bulgaria and told me horror stories from his life under communist rule . I am proud to say my daughter-in- law has now graduated from USC medical school and has followed her grandfather's profession . The stories I heard would make us all appreciate our freedoms so much more . Great video .
@@scubasteve4152 I think Thracian Cliffs was about €200 for two people and a golf cart, the two courses nearby were probably a bit cheaper but those greenfees were included in our stay at the Lighthouse resort. All three courses are well worth playing and you really should play all three if you ever visit. I think playing TC 2 times in a week is more than enough as it's quite demanding and does eat a lot of balls. Black Sea Rama and Lighthouse are better golf courses, just not quite as breath takingly beautiful.
Better than pretty much every other golf influencer doing 23 man hopscotch, mini-knockout, youtube "open" whatever-the-f*ck content. Well done sir. Please don't stop. I just keep adding the destinations you spotlight to my bucket list (both course & country).
Let me tell you about the place and the surroundings a little bit more. This terrace where is the golf course is the first level of cliffs, above it there is a second lavel with higher cliffs and on the top of it, there are stunning restaurants, bars, swimming pools with an amazing view over the gold course. Its a part of a complex with houses and hotels called Kaliakria. It's like a resort. There is also a small peninsula little bit south of the golf course with a resort called White Laguna. Also there is miles of similar cliff going south to the next city called Balchik. It's a small resort city with very beautiful beach alley with French Riviera atmosphere. So the whole area is worth visiting 100%.
I have played this course and it incredible, almost beyond description, worth a trip to Bulgaria alone, but be warned, the high handicappers in our party struggled massively. The adjacent course is good, the Lighthouse course a mile away or so is far more forgiving...
Why have I just seen this gem of a video? New subscriber here and this is golden! I love your perspective of golf and its relation to people and culture.
While I enjoyed the Bulgarian background, I was disappointed that there was not more golf in this video. I traveled to Bulgaria for work from 2009 to 2015. I got to play this course in 2015 and it is hard to decide the “Signature Hole” because all of them were worthy of being a signature hole at any other course.
Whenever i think i'm getting better at golf, i play this course (2-3 times a year), lose a buttload of balls, and get put back in my place. Still, one of the most stunning courses i've seen
Mangilao Golf Club in Guam would make for a good episode. Similar golf course to this and then the military has a big presence there. Also a tourist spot for Asian people in particular.
Just Google'd prices for a round; €79 for a hotel guest (walking) and €109 outside guest (walking). If I ever go to Bulgaria, it will be because of this place
Im so happy you took the time to really give background and history on Bulgaria. Even though Bulgaria is a nation with more people leaving % wise than anywhere else - I am immensly proud to be Bulgarian for all the good reasons you have shared here! Thanks EAL.
This is simply untrue. Even when net emmigration was highest Bulgaria was in the middle of the rankings.

What an absolutely beautiful Golf Course set on those beautiful cliffs , very well done to all involved. RDK au
Agree with you whole heartedly Daniel. This has inspired me to travel to a destination I would never have thought of before. It looks mint !

It will be nice if we can arrange a game!
Man… Im blown away. If it’s as stunning on my tv, the feeling there must be tenfold. I will be going there. ❤️
Thank you.
"that's a totally birdie" - loved that course pro lol

WOW! What a course! I had no idea there was something of this magnitude in Bulgaria. Booking my trip!!! Thanks for the great video, Erik!
I was playing Tracian Cliffs more that 3 times in past 10 years. The whole course gets better and better

Thanks for visiting.
Thracian Cliffs is a dream. More people need to know about this place🎉
A truly outstanding production. The blend of golf and history with your story telling is sublime. My favourite episode of AIG so far

What a great course pro. Friendly, encouraging and professional.
Fantastic golf course and stunning representation of the country
These are my favorite videos on TH-cam. Hands down.
Golf at beautiful and crazy places, you get history and meet the people and it’s perfect

What an amazing video. EAL describes these golf adventures like Bourdain did with Parts Unknown.
i am still in love with the course with all the redwood trees looked stunning. absolute dream world. nice work mate
All i can say is wow. Thanks for all the work covering such great places... im new to golf but it bring me joy
Nice infomerchal for Bulgaria. I'm going! I live in Italy and can fly there for practically nothing. I'm going to that course/resort.
Eric is the Anthony Bourdain of Golf with these adventures in golf. So refreshing
The best course i've ever played!
After seeing that I'm speechless just amazing
Epic! Seems like a course that no matter how bad you shoot you'll be smiling the entire time because every view looks majestic.

Incredible views. Would love to hit 100+ strokes on this course!

That course looks amazing…..❤

stunning golf course
great vid, well done
Your storytelling ability, or your ability to let a story be told, is absolutely brilliant. I love your material. Hit ‘em straight.
Wow!! What a beautiful place. Those two holes rival anything in the world
absolutely superb
And I thought playing my local course was a release, this was truly amazing.
I did look up flights to Bulgaria. So nice job
I have my wedding booked at this resort. I cannot wait to play a round with all my best friends in the days before the wedding! Great video!

Very cool!! Def a bucket list course to play. Wish you had played a full round so we could see it all
Truly, remarkably beautiful.
What an amazing place. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Unreal, thanks for sharing this.
Visited a few years ago, really cool place and amazing service. Not the best course I've ever played but it's for sure one of the most beautiful!
Whats the price to play at this course or another less exclusive course in bulgaria?

Gary Player design.Fantastic course.
I will now go to Bulgaria
Please go visit Korea and Canada again or maybe I should go look to see if you went already
Reminds me of The Teeth of the Dog but maybe even more beautiful along the coast!!
Oh well Erik, another one for my bucket list!!
Beautiful episode, Erik. Congratulations to you and the team.
Destination: Thracian Cliffs! Wow!
What an incredible course😮
Oh great, an episode in Adventures in Golf! My favourite series. Now I will watch it and comment😉
The course reminds me of one of the random artificial courses you would find on Tiger Woods PGA Tour games from the early 2000's.
Even golf is new for Bulgaria they can manage big tournament. Salute to the manger
Amazing video. My wife and I just watched it and are planning our trip.

They say it's an impossible course to walk, though. Too many elevation changes, I guess.
Amazing.
Breath taking,
I hope the multitude of golf youtubers watch this channel and try to elervate their channels to better standard.
Holy eye candy
