Erik, it’s criminal that this is under 20 minutes long. Make it 2 hours, hell, make it 10. These are the unique stories that set you apart from the TH-cam golf community
Although I agree I would watch a feature film on this course and the people. The allure of a place like this is that we don’t all know everything about it and it’s still somewhat unknown.
Of all of the videos, this one might encompass RGC the best. People from very different walks of life, half a world a way, stumbling upon each other in one of the most remote areas on Earth. All for the sole reason to play a silly little game. I love it.
Another absolut gem from Random golf club and Erik. I could watch this film every day for the rest of my life. Your storytelling, Erik, is second to none. Like so many commentators are saying, I think you should do a 3 or 4 hour video for TH-cam. People would watch every second of it. At least I know I would. I'm weird, yes, but so are Random golf club and its fans. Bucket loads of love from Sweden.
This has an Adventures in Golf feel to it. I love that series and rewatch them a lot. They show that golf isn’t a game, it is an experience, and every experience has different layers. Thanks for showing us another story behind the course.
This is genuinely the best golf content I've seen in as long as I can remember, Eric is a really respectful and charming guy - subscribed and really looking forward to the next one.
TH-cam needs its own award show for “shorts”! This is great cinematography and writing that brings you to places you couldn’t imagine and then the experience surpasses your expectations to the point that you feel spurred to go on a personal journey of your own. Y’all have inspired me to travel this year to Scotland and Pinehurst to meet up with Random Golfers and I am “richer”for having done so! Thanks! HSFS!
The entire RGC crew has an amazing talent to display the heart of how and why golf, the people associated with the game, and our journey through it all, are so addictive. Thank you for another great glimpse into the world of golf. And can we just talk about the light you had to shoot that outro? Gorgeous!
Well, another great video Erik. You really enjoyed it. These heartfelt videos are what got me hooked into RGC. I finally played one of my bucket courses in west palm. Par three ! Happy holidays
Eric, I watch a lot of TH-cam GOLF and I have my favorites but whenever you post a new video, I drop everything to watch it. You are a fantastic storyteller! Thank you
Eric, this is a delight! I lived in Shetland as a kid and it is wonderful to see you go there and find out that there is a Golf culture. I didn’t know. I’ll tell you one thing. I bet you learn to play in the wind up there… I remember there was like one day a year where the wind didn’t blow…
Just when I think it can't possibly get any better, you feature a gem like this. Finding these stories and presenting the stories behind the stories is a gift. I always enjoy your content, thank you so much. This is something I could see you doing Erik. Finding some chunk of land somewhere and thinking geez this would make a great golf course. 10 or 20 years down the road, 9 or 18 holes folks would love to play. Thank you again.
Wonderful segment! Looked a little “dodgy” at first, but by the end, I was hooked. It’s beyond my means, but if something crazy happens, this course is officially on my bucket list. And your summary was perfect about the people, etc., but I agree that a longer video may be suitable when you revisit!! Again, wonderful segment!
It's hard not to get emotional watching a video like this. The beauty of the place, but most particularly, the humanity of the people who bring the game we love to life. What a fantastic story. Thanks RGC! This is why we subscribe.
Perfect subject, perfect length, just absolutely wonderful! As someone who has watch’s the show Shetland since the beginning, it was great to see how these stories are woven together. This might replace St. Andrew’s as my dream golf destination.
Just caught up in all your vlogs! I've always followed Random Golf Club but dove into the vlogs just recently. My new favorite channel! Such an awesome story teller and narrator, Erik. Greetings from the Northern Mariana Islands.
One of your best films yet, I feel drawn to this place and its people. Somehow, through the tiny screen on my phone, I’ve been transported. Well done!!!!
Played Whalsay in September and had the privilege of a long chat with Graham in the clubhouse afterwards. The whole day was one of these "never to be forgotten" experiences.
That's beautiful stuff right there. The real essence of golf in so many ways. Sometimes I struggle with all the razzamatazz of the Ryder Cup, LIV, PGA, 20m pound prize funds etc etc. It's places like this that I play the game for. If you're in Scotland you should take a trip down to North Berwick where these Ben Sayers clubs came from. It's a little more celebrated than this place and youre likely to meet more friends from the States but it's similar in many ways. Like a good single malt at the end of a stiff battle with the elements. Courses like this and North Berwick hit the spot.
This was amazing, Erik. I've been to Scotland, but never that far north. This made me want to go there next time. These people, and that golf course seem unique and one of a kind. Great story!
I love these videos and I love what you do for golf Erik. The story’s you share and the culture you have built have changed the sport for the better. Please don’t ever stop making these videos as it’s the only chance for me to glimpse at the world of golf I would otherwise never know.
Wonderful film. There are a lot of wee courses here which most people haven't played, or even heard of (even Scottish people)..... but this one certainly "takes the biscuit". And meeting the locals just adds to our experience as indeed does your aerial footage. Thanks!!!!!
Erick, thank you so much for making this video and trip. Videos like this have been the reason why I started golf TH-cam channel , Im a super huge fan , and to me and you’re the only ones that should be making these course documentaries. I like how you said golf courses are like living museum to go and visit . Please keep making these kind of videos this is why I got into golf. Blessings for the new year brotha!
Great documentary. I have traveled a bit, all over the world, first while serving with the Royal Dutch Navy, then for pleasure. I always try to find off the beaten path destinations, locations, interesting places to eat, meet and also play a bit of golf.
Damn this was a great video and wish I can go there some day to golf! People seem great as well! I agree with other commentors that this could have been much longer and so much content.
How do you not have over 1 mil subs ? This content is absolutely brilliant. Congratulations on the whole team in making these. Cheers from New Zealand 🍻🍻
Erik! Your story telling ability is awesome. I love golf but I love your stories. If you're ever in Australia, I'd love to play some golf with you (I am awful at golf)
Wish we could have seen more details of the course but I guess leaving the viewers wanting more never hurt anyone. Please never stop making these videos. Merry Christmas
what a great video! I played a couple of golf course in Scotland up in the high country, Narin and Inverness and the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. I loved every moment of it, the people are so nice, they kept asking me why I would take Holladay there lol, I said beautiful people and great golf!
Wow! Stunning good on you Erik Thanks for sharing I love Scotland lived there for 6 years and play some golf courses… I saw Ardfin state from the road it was awesome! but Whalsay is sensational, what a merit from Graeme and the other guys that built it, congrats for reaching this hidden gem
Really enjoyed this one, the people up there seem amazing, worlds apart from what our cities are like across the globe. Looked like a calm sort of day, I can imagine the wind up there would be insane at times!
I'm not even a golf TH-cam consumer and even I found and loved this video great work on a great story definitely could have been longer but I understand wanting to keep content digestible for the youth
Erik first time I've seen any of your videos, I've not played golf in twenty years because of illness it made me want to play again, great video great people.
Good video. Funny i know the man that started arcos, and after watching him play i can certainly say that it has helped him be a better golfer. Multiple time club champion
If you want to play what I think is the most challenging golf course in Scotland, try Craigie Hill in Perth, AKA, Crazy Hill! Especially before it closes its 18 holes for 9 in the coming years! It's soon to be only a wild memory!
Clicking on this video was the perfect example of the "you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention" meme after 30 seconds. I'll be watching this asap on the big screen, wow!
Très inspirant…. cette belle facilité à se connecter avec la communauté et rendre l’expérience golf agréable avec des terrains uniques … très instructif …Bravo …
I wish you guys had dedicated more time to this one. Very cool spot. BEAUTIFUL weather you had. Just seemed like you rushed into town and back out the next day.
Beautiful place, specially when it is not raining.... how did you plan this soooo perfectly 🙂and little wind on the golf course, wow. I passed through the Shetlands many times, we are thinking about making part of a cruise now, great story and a must watch !
Absolutely, I wanted to hear so much more from every single person he talked to.
I agree way too short of a video but I also understand why he made it short
We'd love to see an "extended cut" of the extra clips! 40min-hour of whatever you got would be awesome
Jesus loves you
Of all of the videos, this one might encompass RGC the best. People from very different walks of life, half a world a way, stumbling upon each other in one of the most remote areas on Earth. All for the sole reason to play a silly little game. I love it.

Golf is the best thing to travel for. I love airport hopping and then seeing that first tee. No better feeling
This is an amazing video-a world-class production!
This is outstanding, best content Erik has dropped in YEARS! 👏 Pleeeaase release a 3hr version of this
Yes yes and yes. The Ethos of RGC! The Anthony Bourdain of golf is back!
This just warms our hearts. The best thing about golf is the people you meet and the stories that are told ❤
The entire RGC crew has an amazing talent to display the heart of how and why golf, the people associated with the game, and our journey through it all, are so addictive. Well said, I agree. Erik makes all of his vlogs interesting. Such a cool history to Whalsay.
It's hard not to get emotional watching a video like this. The beauty of the place, but most particularly, the humanity of the people who bring the game we love to life. What a fantastic story. Thanks RGC! This is why we subscribe.

Great video! Very well done. Does remind me of the "Anthony Bourdain of golf courses" love it! Kudos goes out to my brother ! E.F!! Amazing job❤
Great a new video, watching it tonight! Whalsay is on my Bucket List. Most northerly golf course in the UK.
One of your best films yet, I feel drawn to this place and its people. Somehow, through the tiny screen on my phone, I’ve been transported. Well done!!!!

This is one of the best golf videos ever. A very inspiring 18 minutes 25 seconds. Thank you Sir!
It looks so peaceful and calming. i dont think i would care what i shot on that golf course
This was amazing, Erik. I've been to Scotland, but never that far north. This made me want to go there next time. These people, and that golf course seem unique and one of a kind. Great story!

Thanks for watching, we're happy to have you!
Played this in 2019 with my buddy Adrian from San Diego. Take high vis coloured balls. Truly, you’ll thank me.
You should try Orkney Golf Club on the west side of Kirkwall. The hospitality of the locals was something we don’t see in America.
Adding this to our list!
Such a great video, spot, and story. This needs an extended cut for how good this was.
Fun video EAL!!
You're the Anthony Bourdain of golf content, really awesome video. Criminal that it doesn't have 300k+ views!
Wonderful film. There are a lot of wee courses here which most people haven't played, or even heard of (even Scottish people)..... but this one certainly "takes the biscuit". And meeting the locals just adds to our experience as indeed does your aerial footage. Thanks!!!!!
Another great watch!! Not one time have I not had a huge smile on my face after watching your content! Love it brother!!
Coming from britains most southerly course - mullion- i cant believe the calm conditions!
Again, filmed-produced- narrated perfectly. This content is unbeatable and inspiring!!!
Love this!! MOst unique golf content on YT. Keep it up, EAL!
Adventures in Golf on RGC. Love to see it.

Wow, thanks for watching man!
@ ❤️🙌🏼👊🏼
One of best golf videos 2024!!!
Outstanding look at a place and it's people that really embody the essence of golf and how simple life should be. Thanks.
La Raza showing up in Shetland with nice swings! Love it 😂
Great documentary. I have traveled a bit, all over the world, first while serving with the Royal Dutch Navy, then for pleasure. I always try to find off the beaten path destinations, locations, interesting places to eat, meet and also play a bit of golf.
Have been looking forward to this for 5 months and it did not disappoint! Early AIG nostalgia 👌🏻
What a great story .. thanks Eric! For Bringing it to the masses.
Damn this was a great video and wish I can go there some day to golf!
People seem great as well! I agree with other commentors that this could have been much longer and so much content.
What a great video! I love the golf course, but even I love the stories and the people you meet along the way even more!
How do you not have over 1 mil subs ? This content is absolutely brilliant. Congratulations on the whole team in making these.
Cheers from New Zealand 🍻🍻
Felt like you went back to your old roots in film making when you made this one. Loved it. Miss this format.
What a great video, the storytelling and cinematography are just spot on. Deserves its own tv series!
You have the TV series you're wishing for right here for FREE on TH-cam.
Great video. 👍🏻👍🏻 Good to see you on my home course👍🏻⛳⛳
Jeez you're good at creating this kind of content Eric, it's how I first discovered your work. More of it please.
Adventures in Golf is back! Loved it
You are the best storytelling TH-cam golfer out there, it's very cool to see.
Erik! Your story telling ability is awesome. I love golf but I love your stories. If you're ever in Australia, I'd love to play some golf with you (I am awful at golf)
It's another great piece of art. The video and the golf course. Keep it up, my man. I feel your soul in every video you craft
More to come!
@RandomGolfClubFilms love the breaking series also
Wish we could have seen more details of the course but I guess leaving the viewers wanting more never hurt anyone.
Please never stop making these videos. Merry Christmas
Was hoping for a play-by-play! This is now 100% at the top of my Bucket List, thank you! My wife and I are obsessed with that Shetland Show on BBC.
what a great video! I played a couple of golf course in Scotland up in the high country, Narin and Inverness and the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. I loved every moment of it, the people are so nice, they kept asking me why I would take Holladay there lol, I said beautiful people and great golf!

Loved this story. You bring such a sense of joy and simplicity to this stupid game I love so much.
One of the best travel videos you have produced. Excellent 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for watching, Brian!
Thanks Erik. Beautiful story and video.
Got my RGC membership and my trail club today WOOHOO, my Christmas gift to myself.
Good video. Funny i know the man that started arcos, and after watching him play i can certainly say that it has helped him be a better golfer. Multiple time club champion
One of the best and pure golf adventures
Another gem...thank you Eric!
That was a fantastic watch … thanks for doing this one.
Those are a true testament to old school golfing!
Excellent story & adventure! Keep them coming!
More coming soon
Don't know why this showed up as a suggestion but glad I watched. Nicely done.
If you want to play what I think is the most challenging golf course in Scotland, try Craigie Hill in Perth, AKA, Crazy Hill! Especially before it closes its 18 holes for 9 in the coming years! It's soon to be only a wild memory!
Love it. And love seeing others just as addicted as I am
Clicking on this video was the perfect example of the "you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention" meme after 30 seconds. I'll be watching this asap on the big screen, wow!
Thank you for what you do. Every video makes me want to go play new places. Keep it up!

Great piece, great stories. Thank you for sharing.
Two videos about Whalsay on TH-cam in one week brilliant inspiring me to go. Subtitles for the Scottish accent 😂

Beautiful people, course, all of it. Great video
I live in Michigan and have a place in Traverse City, I think it’s awesome that you know Tom Doak an amazing guy and his designs are genius!
