    this little shake at 0:42 is a perfect example of "cardinal snapping" (dead zone in the axis makes more sense). at 0:42 you move up and down but the controller does not register . great job !!

    Glad to see the Rocket League mention. (Square stick/deadzone does wonders for the harder mechanics in game)

      @yercules 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes but it's less accurate. You can use circular deadzone and compensate by adjusting the ingame sensitivity. That's what the pros do. I'm sure you know this though.

      @@yerculesCircular deadzone limits the flip cancel range. Stuff like Jakze and Maktuf resets are way too scuffed with circular deadzone . It's also not really an issue when you get used to it. (Reverse and normal tornado spins go a bit deeper too. Great for those crisp/glue'y first touches)

      @@yercules True in theory, but irrelevant in reality. The normal resolution of a controller stick (today) is 14 bit. That means that the entire range of the stick is divided into 32,768 positions. If you use a square deadzone, you have 21,170 positions (multiply by sine of 45 degrees). And that's if it's a bad sensor implementation that doesn't scale the range in the analog domain, if it were a good implementation (VERY rare) you'd lose NOTHING. Even in the bad case, for you to be able to even create a difference, you have to be moving with precision at least twice that resolution. That means you have to be able to hit the exact same area of about 20,000ths of a centimetre in size, every time. Your thumb is not that accurate, and neither is a pro player's thumb.
      You DO have to learn to be more precise, because the physical throw extents have been reduced, but that's a skill issue, not a controller configuration concern. It's the same as sensitivity in mice. You can turn faster, IF you increase sens, but, that makes it harder to aim. This is increasing sens, and has the same effect.
      So, don't worry about it, apply the optimal settings, gitgud, enjoy the extra W's. Or like, don't, and sweat less. It's all good! :)

    Knew most of this already based on the content you've produced, but the last magnet axial snapping one is new. I have a Logitech F310 which basically has analog sticks that act as D-pads, it's horrendous.

    Thanks for the tip, not a fan of the deadzones manufacturers set it at default, I guess to accommodate all users including pre-teens- I want it to move as soon I move it even if it's a 1000th of a millimeter for example on the Dualsense; same with the triggers- I guess being an artist who's practice gradient shading by hand make you more need things to be precise and very responsive. I set it to negative if I could, set at always zero with the sensitivity set to the highest which is 5 in the a case of D4Windows but I guess the consoles must rely on 3rd-party where these parameter are adjustable in hardware w/ onboard settings memory (similar to gaming mice like the G502).

    Yeah, I bought the GCC Smash controller from Hori, the wired one, and has "anti snapback", in the end it's just big deadzone and it's very bad to use.

    My modern xbox controller has terrible circularity on the right stick, for some reason. I've only had it for like 3 years?

  • @williamtael8379
    @williamtael8379 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    A perfect circularity is not always a good thing.
    Take Horizon Zero Dawn for example; if you have a circular range Aloy won't sprint on the diagonals. So it's a very bad idea.

      @williamtael8379 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pallas_wept
      Use the Kingkong 2 Pro on the middle sensitivity setting (100%) for the left stick and try to sprint diagonaly on Horizon Zero Dawn (or maybe other modern games).

    I wonder how the controllers I've been getting would test to 🤔 I should check them (I don't see a link to this program in the description though.. I know it's appeared on previous videos, but that's a bit to search through :o I also don't remember if it has a cost..)

    I need help please. I have 2 controllers with hall effects from different companies one of my controllers sticks are really slow when turning. Compared to original and my other controller with hall effects. The guy the built it doesn't know what the issue is or how to fix it, if someone can please help I would be very grateful.

    Cool, do you have the analog stick grips like KontrolFreek or Skull & Co. grip or SparkFox's Pro-Hex? Grips like KontrolFreek improved things, I got to do a mission hours faster (less replays) so I can finish the game faster to move on to the next AAA game. If you use analog stick grips, what brand and what kind (convex, hybrid or concave) with which franchise (originally I got the 5x to 6x cheaper than KontrolFreek, Skull & Co's 6-piece analog grips but the surface is a bit small but it's got a good rubber but there's no hybrid surface, I refunded that and got the Call of Duty: Vanguard from KontrolFreek which is both high-rise which is good for precision on FPS/TPS w/ vehicles but the Skull & Co.'s QCQ grip, the very convex shape is better than the KontrolFreek's straight edge.
    God bless.

    My 8bitdo ultimate and gamesir t4 kaleid have almost 0 deadzone (thank for the hall effect) even with very high stick i'm using for fps game. They still have but it's too small that u wont feel anything while playing.

    Why will "game pad tester" only work on one of my 3 computers? The oldest of the 3 works of course. It's infuriating. Is there some kind of driver I am missing on my other 2 computers? Anyone know?

    What are those two programs you used between 1:02 and 2:20 ?

    • @VKsChannel
      @VKsChannel  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      1:02 is a game project inside game maker studio engine it was built just to visualise the sticks and simulate the deadzone
      The other program is the controller settings on yuzu emulator
