Awesome review! I’m hyped to use the pro 2 with my Switch, pc, and steamdeck. What dock or stand were you using for the steamdeck? I might get a dock or stand for my steamdeck too.
Yes. There is a new revision but the name is the same. You have to figure out from the shop description if the controller is the old version or the new one with the new Hall sticks.
@@Gamerlingual So basically, all the controllers you tested in this video are, 1. 8Bitdo Pro 2 Bluetooth Gamepad upgraded version (Hall effect joystick edition) and 2. 8Bitdo Pro 2 Bluetooth Gamepad old version (no hall effect joystick) Am I right? sorry to bother you with this, it's because I'm choosing which Hall effect edition to get. I heard there is a wired version, an old wired pro 2 without hall effect and a new wired pro 2 xbox version. I am researching which one should i get.
After some initial testing, I would go with the Pro 2. A comparison video is coming up and I am testing the X15. But the Pro 2 is best, then the SMX, and finally the Cyclone Pro. They’re all solid, but that’s my recommended order of preference.
Thanks. I guess my old pro 2 is fine. Maybe someday 8bitdo will make the ultimate version of this gamepad with 2.4g adapter and then it will be worth to upgrade. Why are keeping that plastic over abxy buttons? :)
@@Gamerlingual I'd definitely buy an upgraded version for my old ALPS Pro 2. It's getting old, buttons and dpad aren't that responsive anymore and stiff/loud, sticks are slick and slightly worn, bluetooth latency isn't good. I already have a couple of Ultimate controllers, oldest Switch one and newest Xbox, but it's still a different kind of controllers, not that comfy in my hands and for retro+racing games.
My girlfriend bought this controller for me and she only knew how to choose the hall effect because of your video, thanks bro
You’re welcome. Hope you enjoy it. That’s a wonderful girlfriend right there.
Ooh, this looks interesting to me. I'm more fond of the Dualsense controller with parallel sticks.
This will be right up your alley.
nice comparison video, sir. very helpful👍. did u update the firmware before making this video?
Everything worked right out of the box when I tested it. So, I felt no need for the update. Thanks for watching.
@@Gamerlingual thank you for the quick reply, sir

It's a Unitek dock. The one that's available is a different model, tho: a.co/d/jaWVI2p
@@Gamerlingual Sweet! Thanks for answering my question and providing a link. Have a nice day!
Are there two versions of the pro 2, one with and one without hall effect? And if so, how can you spot the difference?
Yes. There is a new revision but the name is the same. You have to figure out from the shop description if the controller is the old version or the new one with the new Hall sticks.
Thanks, do you know if it is visible on the box?
Check the unboxing video: th-cam.com/video/-3JyE1EIlR8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=djHi0iB1m0mVEBqg
interesting latency test results! mind sharing what app you used so i can test mine&compare with yours? maybe everyone has "controller lottery" lol
Xinput test and Gamepad tester from hardwaretester.com
9:40 when you test the input lag, do you mean using the controller in a wired connection (bluetooth Gamepad Version)?
The first part is wired mode with the cable. The second test is Bluetooth mode, or wireless mode. Any other questions, let me know.

I only did the new one. I personally recommend the wireless pro 2 because it can still be played in wired mode. Hence the included cable for it.
would you choose this one over easysmx x10 or gamesir cyclone pro? I want it for wireless play...
I have those and will be coming in future reviews. For now, I consider the Pro 2 one of the top controllers in general
@@Gamerlingual could you check the resolution of the stick? on gamepadla it says that the resolution is just 43 which is super low...
Apologies. They are still sealed in their cases until they're ready for review. So for now, I can't answer this.
@@Gamerlingual Okay thank you for your support, will wait for that review ^^

I wish they added mechanical switch buttons and triggers to this controller
They may in a future release. Ask their social media or customer service. Flydigi however does check mark everything you want.
@Gamerlingual I'd get the vader 4 but im not a fan of the unaligned analog sticks, sadly
PlayStation controllers also work fine on different platforms. But if it isn’t your cup of tea, I hope a controller comes out soon to suit your needs.
DS5 or 8bitd pro2 hall effect is better for PC?
Pro 2 HE.
But the response time n polling rate are awfull.. My ds4 v2 via Bluetooth got 1.5ms n 900ish Hz.. How so 8 bitdo better then?

I wonder if they would make an Ultimate version. The current one might be Ultimate in their eyes, but that's just my guess.

Get a new Pro 2. The Hall effect sticks already do it justice.
