    This is an introductory series into Synfig. The version used in this video is 1.2.2. Synfig is an opensource 2D animation software with many powerful tools and features. It's still being developed but with each update, it gets better and better.
    Here I show the basics of how to start animating in Synfig
    Download Synfig:
    gumroad.com/a/431289555 (Synfig stable version)
    gumroad.com/a/57996499 (Synfig development version)

    Oh please! Ignore that dislike. I'm having success using your instruction & I'm 65+. I've never had a firm grip on Synfig so I've gone back to basics with your help. Yup, I was missing some fundamental stuff. Bona fides - back to learning other software because Blender Open GL'd me out until I can afford a graphics card with more muscle. Not quite an old idiot & I say you're a good instructor with good vid production.

    So I`d forgotten about Synfig Studio for a while when I decided let me see what good videos are out there and how fast can I get up to speed with this software. Upon a very brief search, this familiar name came up. Quite a concise breakdown of the tools, interface, etc., that really gives me a sense of the Synfig workflow. Thanks brejin.

      respek! It still has some issues though but i'm following the progress as I believe Synfig can someday rival the big boys like toonboom and moho

    Can you make a video explaining how to set up an animation in a mobile size (for a TH-cam short or an Instagram Reel, for example) in Synfig Studio? Thanks!

    I'm trying to understand why we use ( add key frame button)when It's going to add a key frame anyway if we moved the object; it makes kind of a controller but I don't get what for

    • @YOWKhemardi
      @YOWKhemardi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you use the 'add keyframe' button you get to add various things to a keyframe such as a description to explain what each keyframe is for or even precisely move keyframes along the timeline among other things. It's not necessary but it has its benefits.

    This seems like a very interesting application! As this video is from two years ago, I wonder how much the application has updated since then.
    I have to say, though. The application mentioned it creates animation through vector images and bitmaps. How are the tools used for editing bitmaps directly? I'm asking because a really good application, Fireworks, is a fantastic vector and bitmap hybrid image editing application. Right now, I'm looking for a substitute for it.

    • @YOWKhemardi
      @YOWKhemardi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is mostly a vector tool. For bitmaps you can only mask areas or an image or perform the basic transforms on the image such as scale, rotate, scale etc. But you can't add to the image using bitmap shapes only vector.

      @@YOWKhemardi Hm, I see...
      With that said, are there any applications that work with bitmaps and vectors seamlessly akin to Fireworks? If it worked on newer MacOS systems, I'd gladly use it forever.

      @@YOWKhemardi I heard of it and I have even tried it. Even though my copy of it is broken ever since I updated my OS, I'm willing to give it another shot. It's just that there are some issues with the application that don't make it quite as good as Fireworks. Apart from the weird placement of tools (I.e. dodge and burn being grouped amongst brush sets), how it handles vectors is not completely perfect. They can't easily be transformed the same way as bitmap images in the same application. Also, all the vector shapes are contained in their own layer rather than having a layer for each shape, which is the case for Fireworks. If I am using the "bring forward" and "send backwards" settings to affect their layering, then it's a matter of guesswork.`
      These problems could be resolved in a newer version. I haven't used Krita in a long time, so I can't say for certain.

      Hi, you can fix this by reversing the keyframes. Move the left keyframe to the right side and move the right keyframe to the left side :)
