      I love spinning reel brother , you are growed up lol . Actually spinning reels are superior to baitcasters . As far as drag and casting gos . But I just love the way a nice baitcaster feels . I have a lot of reels I never show on videos . I would think my spinning reel too baitcasters ste 50/50 . I love em both

    Hey Keith - LOVE your videos! On using snaps instead of hook and loop (Velcro).... As a leather worker, I use those snaps a lot. Soooooo, if you take a thin piece of leather of some kind and put it behind the kozi material, it will keep the snap from poking through when you clamp it down. Try it! I think you'll find it's AWESOME!!! Tight lines and screamin' reels!!!! (Oh... And I tie flies too, so I'll be trying to find some tips to help with those type of hacks as well...)

I'm not makin fun, I never realized that I had such a southern twang accent til I heard my recorded voice and it totally cracked me up. I'm from the Texas panhandle but my grandparents migrated from Tennessee so there it is.

    Thanks for the idea! I had some extra canvas material laying around and I ended up making a cover for one of my spinning reels out of it. I still like your idea better with the koozies, that's genius. I think I'm going to make some kind of hybrid with canvas and koozies for my other three spinning rods. If I would've found this channel sooner I probably wouldn't have bought covers for my bait casters. Also thanks for making videos like this in general. You have a lot of cool ideas and I like DIY projects.

    @sfcmmacro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great DIY. I will be doing a bunch of these up for my rigs. I’ll probably look for two different colors so I can visually tell what pound line I have on a particular rig.
    Three additional ideas for the DIY:
    1. Little dab of plasti-dip on the back of the snaps and you will not scratch up the reel.
    2. If you use Barge contact cement you can glue up the ends instead of sewing it (or glue and sew), and use the cement to attach the Velcro.
    3. Don’t forget to tag stitch the end you cut the excess off of so the seam does not unravel (or contact cement it).

    • @FishinNStuff
      @FishinNStuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did tag stitch and forgot too film it . And believe it or not I started to try glue lol . Your right about the button but I would prefer the velcro. Theres less chance of tearing out the neoprene

    To prevent the snaps from tearing the material you can cut some disks out of a milk jug and use them as washers. Being hdpe it won't scratch up the reel then.

    If you could measure your can cosies ( stubby coolers where I’m from ) before putting in your slit cut you could use the off cut to put over a spoil of line to keep it tidy & stop it from getting knocked around as well as unspoiling

      @@FishinNStuff I sure did. I really appreciated the honorable mention. Thanks for doing that!
      I work on lawnmowers and have done plumbing, and when I got a vise much like the one you are giving away, I wanted a rotary vice but I couldn't afford one. I realized I could probably make a copy of a production model. It has lawnmower axle bearings and the plumbing pipe with regular nuts and bolts hardware.
      I have plans to try your zonker jigs, too. I wasn't sure about whether I'd like zonker skins for a lure until I saw your demonstration of the feather, buck tail hair, and zonker in the tank. It looks seriously more active in the water.
