I am with @starwarcam on this. Even though Luke Skywalker is my fav Star Wars character of all time (and I did get this VC re-issue) Hasbro has shoved Luke down our throats over the last 8 years in the black series alone! No Dr. Evazan, no Bib Fortuna, no Clone Wars/ROTS Palpatine with AT LEAST 1 lightsaber?! But as of the beginning of 2021 there are 14, yes 14 different Luke Skywalkers' in the BS not including re-issues!!!
I still haven't received a good portion of these figures that I had preordered ages ago. Walmart only just days ago shipped my K2SO figure after an 8 month wait (so tired of exclusive releases). If I would have tried to buy these 20 figures at retail, I'd have even fewer in my possession right now. Finding this stuff in the wild has become nearly impossible. Here's hoping that 2021 is a better year all around. Cheers!
Worst is Rex, didn't even bother picking him up, just wasted potential there. First is Rogue One Darth Vader!!!! I love that figure so much, ANH Vader is the best costume in my opinion, and I think this new Vader figure does it so much justice. I couldn't be more pleased 😁
Loved this video mate. Watched most of your reviews of these figures this past year but seeing them altogether shows what great TVC they made last year. Loved you're number one choice! Cheers!
Top notch list Tim! With so much of my focus on Black Series, it’s been easy to forget how many great figures have come out over the last 12 months. I still need to get my Top ## out soon.
I had Fives as my top figure, new sculpt plus a lot of accessories for a change! Luke is my favorite character, so getting him on the ROTJ card was great!
We’ve had some great figures in the last year. Your top 3 would be my top 3. I would have had K2-S0 in my top 10. Some of the cardbacks have been disappointing like you pointed out & Hasbro need to take more care with that. We know what image they need to pick for Leia Bespin Escape this year. Looking forward to see what we get in TVC as this year progresses. A very Happy New Year to you & looking forward to more videos & your new live streams.
Lol I like the fact that Grogu had his arm off, but I liked all the poses with Bossk. Your list is fantastic, personally I would have had Cara & the Incinerator in my top 3. But I also think that Jedi Luke card is the best of 2020 I still have the original 80's one because it was my favourite. Cheers mate👍🏻🍻
Still waiting on my Moff Gideon case from Dorkside. Can't wait. Found a Vader on the shelf, really need to do a review. Bummer that the Armor is only one per.
I ain’t that type of collector, in fact, I own none of these, but one day I’ll buy them, I’m gonna cleanly cut the plastic bit off as the design of the package, click, noice.
Only way I can understand it is if they were designed to be like retro kenner figures you know 5 poa, but these are modern figures and the only thing retro is the packaging but the modern figure beckons to be opened.
I agree with Jedi Luke being #1, he is a contender for the best TVC of all. Out of the remaining figures, I put the Power Droid at #2. Having an original 20 figure brought to a definitive standard is nostalgia overload. Rex doesn't belong with the rest of the figures. The new figures are at such a high level now, having a repack of a subpar figure is rather insulting.
I knew Luke was gna be your #1!!!! Idk man for just the value out of it alone I think it’s gotta be build up Mando for me, I personally don’t think the card back isn’t as bad as you make it out to be but I’m glad it at least was on your top 10 of the year. I think a close second would be fives. 4 blasters, a removable helmet, a backpack and a phenomenal figure, and it costs the same amount as a power droid?! Yeah it’s a good one
Same for me as well. If these get cancelled I'm never ordering anything from Walmart again. They obviously don't give two $hits about Star Wars collectors.

Top 5 are original Mando, Gideon, Armorer, Chirrut and the Power Droid in no particular order. Honestly though, I love everything that has released this year. Great list, sir! I tend to agree with you on most of your picks. I just usually end up with the Stormtroopers higher. Here's to hoping they give more figures, and more of the same quality this year! Cheers!
Yes, we need Hasbro to give us 100 new 3.75 figures next year. If they can give us a hundred new 6 inch figures last yr, then 100 new vintage collection figures isn't too much to ask for. Hasbro needs to focus and put all their energy towards the 3.75 inch scale.
Totally agree with Luke Jedi making no.1 for the year, the 2010 version ever felt right and was confirmed when it had the running change, so this one with the updated features is my favourite too, just wished I'd bought a second one to open!.....great run down, well done!
That new Jedi Luke has really gone up in value, it's a fine figure, I'm glad I bought a lot of those when I did, I just had a hunch about the future popularity of that figure.
I agree with your number 1 choice, BB; good call. Let's hope that 2021 is a good year for TVC. I'm hoping for several original 93 figures. Best wishes for 2021, BB.
I agree on VC 166 - the figure is great, the different pieces of armor tell a story and are visually appealing, and the card - which is so bright - is fantastic. It would be my #1. Wish I had it.
I was disappointed with articulation on Moff Gideon!! He is such a rump kicking badass that i expected way better poseability from his figure!! Hahaha! Patience is what it takes i guess!! I had to complain and wait out buying Chirrut Îmwe until they produced a figure worthy of the character and the actor!! Hahaha!! Chirrut is my number one!! Nice list, I bought a few of the Luke Jedi plus bought a few for $5 can’t go wrong. I always buy the closeout at Walmart vintage collection. Picked up 6 of those rogue one tanks for $22 each. Could not pass that up. What a great tank and package.
Great vid, Tim!! It really looks you must've put so much effort on making the top. I personally think that the power droid being so high on the list is absurd, I would've put another one in his place like Hondo Ohnaka for example. Nevertheless, great ranking.
Great video as always Bossk, thank you! Ha, I always have to laugh when you explain cardback love. I was a 90's kid so when I was getting figures as a pup they were on red and black cardbacks with bloodshot eyes staring back. I did then, and I still do, just rip that figure out, huck the package right in the trash, and I never give it a second thought, and enjoy my beautiful super articulated little statue I paid way to much for. I hear your generation crying out in pain every time I do it, but I totally get why you all love it so much. I nicely cut the bubble sometimes and keep cardbacks I really like, like Fordo and Star Killer.
I never liked the use of plastic when cloth can be used. Am I the only one left in the galaxy that believes Hasbro is behind schedule? Instead of a surplus of plastic use cloth replaced . this company invented cloth on their joe line!!! Wtf?!
Hasbro should be focusing on the vintage collection, rather than 6 inch black series. I can't believe how many black series figures came out this year, we need Hasbro to up their production on 3.75 and less so in 6 inch.
I was so lucky to find a Moff Gideon at my local Wal-Mart just randomly going there one day (along with Rex). I know. Rex is an old figure, but I so missed out on his original release. I think the color of him matches good with the 501st Troopers I have currently. Though he just is so meh compared to Wolfe, Cody, and Fordo. But he is better than the 501st commanding officer I had prior. I forgot who that is, but eh. I got the Hondo figure this year, and yeah he's a repackage, but I finally have a VC Hondo figure at long last. So profits can be had there! Still waiting on my Mandos from Wal-Mart (the exclusive) and armored version (BBTS) but yeah you're right the OG Din is just something. I found Carbonized versions of him and the Death Trooper and was like, two Mandos and one carded Death Trooper (since I own four out of packaging). Plus that card art. Sooo good.
I get the love for the Luke Skywalker at #1, but for me it doesn’t quite work for The Mandalorian display because this figure doesn’t come with a black glove on his right hand. Nitpicking I know, but I’m a stickler for accuracy.
Great video. I knew Luke would be in the top two. With that card back and the head sculpt and cloak I can see why you put him at no.1. I'm still waiting on Mando build up pack. After seeing your review of Mando and child then the review of swapping heads...aaahhh, makes me more anxious to get him.
being 22, I'm not quite as fussed about cardbacks, although I understand their nostalgic value, and, I also think, given the name off the series, Vintage Collection, they are important. Also come on, they look cool. Given that: 19. Captain Rex. Honestly terrible 18. Vader. Vader is my favourite character of all time, but the plastic skirt is bad, and the cape is also bad lol. The cardback is meh, and the head sculpt is the only good thing. Shame. 17. Hondo. Just kinda boring, would have preferred the clone wars. 16. Wolffe. Headsculpt and helmet are great, also not a bad cardback, but lazy reuses. I adore clones, and it's such a shame they aren't better. 15. ESB Stormtrooper. Great, but I couldn't afford it. That annoyed me. 14. Power droid. I understand some put value to it, but, I don't. Sorry, I'm just not of that generation, but for those who like it, great, so it's a tad higher on here. 13. Moff Gideon. Meh cardback, annoying cape, but great head sculpt. Also... the Mandalorian is an overrated show, I know, murder me, but it it's good, just not greeeaat. if you feel me 12. Beskar Mando. Decent figure, but agree on paint apps. The cardback is ok. 11. Cara Dune. I actually think there's little wrong, but her character is super boring to me. Not Hasbro's fault. 10. K-2SO. Pretty decent, but not my favourite cardback. 9. ARC Fives. If the figure had been decent, this would be 1. Terrible cardback. And whilst the figure movement is incredible, great head sculpt too, the helmet is inaccurate, which bothers me. Plus not a single one had a decent paint application on the helmet. Massive shame, this should have been figure of the year. 8. Armourer. Fine, no real complaints, just not my favourite character. 7. Luke (Stormtrooper). Again, great figure, nut nostalgia for the kenner version isn't quite there. However, it's great on all accounts, and most likely is higher on other people's list. 6. Incinerator Stormtrooper. Really decent on all accounts, but the fuel tank is upside down, like the BS. WHY? 5. Remnant Stormtrooper. Awesome figure! 4. Mando + Child. Again really decent, but the cardback is meh. 3. Mandalorian (Durasteel). Just great really, probably the only Mando you should pick up if your an in box collector. 2. Luke ROTJ. Amazing really, just not the best head sculpt. Always think there's room for improvement. Also I don't like his CGI face in the show, so Hasbro please never give us that. But this is amazing. 1. Chirrut Imwe. 😍😍 These are just my opinion!
hi bossk happy new year and to all subscribers . i have a question about a month ago the black series 40th 2017 anv 6inc sand people become available, this happen again few days ago same shop. i only notice today 1 is single pill with no warning on front just the paper in the blister. the other is from north america with the warnings double pill name but no paper in blister lol . but cant find any info on the single pill. do you know any info please thanks
Not bad top 5 BB, I reckon Luke Jedi Knight and Chirrut Imwe would have been in mine too but still haven't managed to get a hold of them yet. I had 1. Din Djarin 2. Incinerator Trooper 3. Arc Trooper Fives 4. K2SO 5. Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper
Agree with most of your list, but I would have put K2SO a little higher and shifted some down. That K2SO is a great mold with great articulation and the card is wonderful.
That is a really interesting line-up! Chirrut was definitely one of my favorite releases of 2020 as well. Let's hope Hasbro will finally give us the rest of the crew from Rogue One 5 years after the movie came out. Thanks for sharing your opinion with us, Mr Bossk!
As a collector I do not take things out of the packaging and the card back is very important to me the picture the quality of the picture everything about it takes me back to that time even though I wasn't even born yet it has that magic ability to do that for me
I agree with all except armor and gonk droid. But we had a awesome yr considering lol. Good countdown my guy. This yr might be a coin toss tho. This pandemic is nasty. Awesome vid tho!
Another great video! I love lists! I like that you judged using both the figure and card. I feel like it's lame of Hasbro that they only gave us 19 VC figures in 2020 after they assured us that if we supported the line in 2018 and 2019 that more figures would be made in the future. 2019 was great, but then they regressed this year. Maybe the pandemic played a small part? I don't know. Here's hoping we get at least 30 VC figures in 2021! (not including repacks) Here's my personal list: 19 VC182 - Captain Rex 18 VC165 - Remnant Stormtrooper 17 VC177 - Incinerator Trooper 16 VC168 - Clone Commander Wolffe 15 VC171 - Stormtrooper (Carbon Freeze Chamber) 14 VC172 - ARC Trooper Fives 13 VC166 - The Mandalorian 12 VC173 - Hondo Ohnaka 11 VC176 - Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) 10 VC178 - Darth Vader 09 VC169 - Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper) 08 VC170 - K-2SO 07 VC167 - Power Droid 06 VC179 - The Armorer 05 VC181 - The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) 04 VC174 - Chirrut Imwe 03 VC164 - Cara Dune 02 VC175 - Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) 01 VC180 - Moff Gideon
And we got like a hundred new 6 inch figures last year. Why can't they make 100 new vintage collection figures? They don't have to use as much plastic.
Great list Tim; agreed the original Mandalorian figure/card is easily the best version released to date. And although i do like the Remnant Stormtrooper figure/card, i can’t help thinking the paint job looks like someone fished the figure out of the bottom of a urinal! 🤭
were i to release a vtc line, two of the waves would serve the purpose of troop building, with versions Mandalorian troopers, so that the next wave would have some sought after and new characters. like older Ahsoka Tano (and season 7), the Imperial Inquistitors (all of them) and the rest of The Knights of Ren.
As someone who A. never got the Black Series releases of Rex and Wolffe, and B. loves army building clones, I really enjoyed both Rex and Wolffe. Once I get a good pose I rarely ever change how I have my stuff displayed, so they work for me. I do get how some of you long-time BS/VC collectors would feel about them though. They really did miss the boat on that Mando/Child cardback though. How do you not have a pic of Mando holding Grogu? It's a no-brainer!
I knew you were going to choose no1 luke (Jedi), it is superb figure, the cape on it is outstanding. Think I'm going to have to agree No 1 Luke Jedi Last Commander Wolfe, not keen on the oversized antenna.. Not bad bad though, the armourer is close no1 too 👍
I agree with most of the list, especially regarding the clone wars cardbacks which not many other people point out. I’d put Moff and the Jabba’s palace luke as my bottom 5 however lol. Fantastic cardbacks but not a huge fan of the figures, especially Moff
Hi guys, I've recently wanted to get into collecting star wars figures - 3.75 inch size and was wondering how much is the retail price for a single figure? I've found retailers in the UK who sell them around 12-13 GBP but in other european retailers I see they cost 20 euro and above. Anyone can give me an idea what the standard retail cost is?
Bossk’s Bounty, I love the Rogue One Vader. I understand your complaint about the soft goods on the robe, but I disagree. The plastic robe looks great on Vader. Besides, Vader didn’t really kneel in the movie.
I always feel kinda bad when I jus tear open any of the Vintage Collection figures. I've been thinking about saving the cards because they look kool but I always end up jus tossing them away.
Bossk I just want to thankyou for helping me get into collecting and you’ve been of really good help keep on doing good

I think the carbonized Cara Dune is better looking than the regular release, but that is me. Great list Bossk!
I get the love for the Luke Skywalker at #1, but for me it doesn’t quite work for The Mandalorian display because this figure doesn’t come with a black glove on his right hand. Nitpicking I know, but I’m a stickler for accuracy.
Happy new year
Great video. I knew Luke would be in the top two. With that card back and the head sculpt and cloak I can see why you put him at no.1. I'm still waiting on Mando build up pack. After seeing your review of Mando and child then the review of swapping heads...aaahhh, makes me more anxious to get him.
Lot's of great figures in 2020, no doubt...💯✔
What version of bossk do you have ? I’m trying to collect all the bounty hunters
Excellent upload.
As a new collector to the VC collection are they worth collecting as a whole or all of them will they be worth it in the future
being 22, I'm not quite as fussed about cardbacks, although I understand their nostalgic value, and, I also think, given the name off the series, Vintage Collection, they are important. Also come on, they look cool. Given that:
19. Captain Rex. Honestly terrible
Also... the Mandalorian is an overrated show, I know, murder me, but it it's good, just not greeeaat. if you feel me
These are just my opinion!
hi bossk happy new year and to all subscribers . i have a question about a month ago the black series 40th 2017 anv 6inc sand people become available, this happen again few days ago same shop. i only notice today 1 is single pill with no warning on front just the paper in the blister. the other is from north america with the warnings double pill name but no paper in blister lol . but cant find any info on the single pill. do you know any info please thanks
i agree with you on the mandalorians card backs
Fantastic list Tim 👍
Rogue one is up there on the list of movies. I friggin love it!
I do love the k -2SO character. Dude makes me laugh.
The luke skywalker returne of the jedi is my first vintage collection
Great place to start
Not bad top 5 BB, I reckon Luke Jedi Knight and Chirrut Imwe would have been in mine too but still haven't managed to get a hold of them yet. I had 1. Din Djarin 2. Incinerator Trooper 3. Arc Trooper Fives 4. K2SO 5. Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper
Heads up to Americans in Michigan, old waves are at meijers rt now, bespin luke, han, c3p0 and lando. And 6" figures
Agree with most of your list, but I would have put K2SO a little higher and shifted some down. That K2SO is a great mold with great articulation and the card is wonderful.
Surprised on Arcs ,but like you said card back counts too. Also your remnant trooper is really yellow. Mine barely has any yellow. Good show!🍻
Hard to argue the rankings. But I did like the storm trooper in the Mandalorean card back
That is a really interesting line-up! Chirrut was definitely one of my favorite releases of 2020 as well. Let's hope Hasbro will finally give us the rest of the crew from Rogue One 5 years after the movie came out. Thanks for sharing your opinion with us, Mr Bossk!
“We Warned Hasbro”... YEAH!
The Rex re-realease was an.... Intresting choice
Why is Hando in Original Trilogy type card ?
Another great video! I love lists! I like that you judged using both the figure and card. I feel like it's lame of Hasbro that they only gave us 19 VC figures in 2020 after they assured us that if we supported the line in 2018 and 2019 that more figures would be made in the future. 2019 was great, but then they regressed this year. Maybe the pandemic played a small part? I don't know. Here's hoping we get at least 30 VC figures in 2021! (not including repacks)
Here's my personal list:
19 VC182 - Captain Rex
18 VC165 - Remnant Stormtrooper
17 VC177 - Incinerator Trooper
16 VC168 - Clone Commander Wolffe
15 VC171 - Stormtrooper (Carbon Freeze Chamber)
14 VC172 - ARC Trooper Fives
13 VC166 - The Mandalorian
12 VC173 - Hondo Ohnaka
11 VC176 - Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)
10 VC178 - Darth Vader
09 VC169 - Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper)
08 VC170 - K-2SO
07 VC167 - Power Droid
06 VC179 - The Armorer
05 VC181 - The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor)
04 VC174 - Chirrut Imwe
03 VC164 - Cara Dune
02 VC175 - Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight)
01 VC180 - Moff Gideon
And we got like a hundred new 6 inch figures last year. Why can't they make 100 new vintage collection figures? They don't have to use as much plastic.
Really hoped that they did a soft cape on Moff Gideon too , won’t fit into my Outland Tie with that hard cape on
Happy new Yearrr!! Hahaha! Blessings!! :)
Fives card is also missing the goatee. It’s kinda there, like stubble, but it should be more pronounced
Looking at several video it would seem to be that Din Djarin figure (battle damage one) comes in two paint variants with darker or lighter silver.
That Wolfe is amazing
The card back on number 1 top of list was released in 2010 vc 23 as a variant card to Luke endor capture,
Great list Tim; agreed the original Mandalorian figure/card is easily the best version released to date.
Think I'm going to have to agree
No 1 Luke Jedi
Last Commander Wolfe, not keen on the oversized antenna..
Personally I really like the rex figure but my favourite would have to be fives
great video my brother
Cheers Rohn, good to see you in the comments man
Hi guys, I've recently wanted to get into collecting star wars figures - 3.75 inch size and was wondering how much is the retail price for a single figure? I've found retailers in the UK who sell them around 12-13 GBP but in other european retailers I see they cost 20 euro and above. Anyone can give me an idea what the standard retail cost is?
Great video
Bossk’s Bounty, I love the Rogue One Vader. I understand your complaint about the soft goods on the robe, but I disagree. The plastic robe looks great on Vader. Besides, Vader didn’t really kneel in the movie.
Luke Jedi is #1. Luke stormy is great because he can also be used as another stormtrooper. Cara Dune should be higher on the list, though.
Nice list!
I always feel kinda bad when I jus tear open any of the Vintage Collection figures. I've been thinking about saving the cards because they look kool but I always end up jus tossing them away.
I have only the remnant and the incinerator xD
Jedi Luke number 1 for me too and Rex rock bottom
I want a Luke Skywalker for The Mandalorian with the silver buckle. It’s the same buckle he’s wearing when he meets Vader on Endor.
I would have put arc trooper echo in my top 5 for sure. Off course Im speaking as a loose collector
