Collecting for the Switch is a lot of fun. I really like the size of the cases and the cover art is always awesome.
I love collecting for it... However, my bank and my wallet disagrees.
except the games are overpriced and no colour instruction booklet and extras you used to get in game cases

I feel bad for anyone trying to go for a complete physical switch collection in 10 years cuz of all the limited games. prices are gonna be insane
good luck with that. for one, there's a LOT of games. two, there are certain physical games that are extremely rare. for example, take certain kickstarter games that had a physical version released and you only got it if you backed the game through kickstarter. games like that might be next to impossible to find since the quanties of those are very few. one that i have that's limited is the Oniken + Odallus Collection from Playasia. looking on ebay there's less than 15 copies. who knows how hard to find it might be down the road. so trying to get a "complete" collection might just be next to impossible.
@@derek-64 not to mention that there gonna spend like $100+ on a wack indie/shovelware game just cause they made like less than like 1000 copies
@@PradaKicks there's a lot of excellent games, though. Sure there's plenty of shovelware but there's plenty of hidden gems. And everyone has their preferences, likes, dislikes etc., but there's still lots of great games that don't get the attention they deserve, but trying to obtain physical copies of certain limited release games might be rather tricky years down the road. Plus, if the eshop gets shut down then that makes it even harder.

Don't forget many physical games are download only 😁. Only boxes with download codes without carts.

@@UltimateGamerCC what are you talking about? The system has been out for 4 years and sells more units than the PS5 and XSX. It’s literally the most popular console.
I never felt the Switch had a small gaming library. It feels like everything is being ported to the system, including Wii U games.
The switch has over 2500 titles and over 1000 of them are physical. It by now means has a small amount of titles. It does however have plenty of shovelware titles 😂.
Saying the Switch has a small library is just a flat out lie.

Man, the Switch is such a delightful money pit for me. I just recently passed 300 unique and open games. I have a few sealed duplicates with collector's editions and games I had already purchased digital that came out physically later. It's interesting to see what games we have in common and what's different.
It’s nice to be a TH-camr because you get those really cool press kits and other nice collectible things. Love that press kit you showed and amazing collection. I myself go digital and only buy the games I absolutely love but that’s due to not having money lol. Keep growing this amazing collection!

You're right, but digital is (unfortunately) probably going to be the future for all software.
I really think there will come a day where physical copies just aren't distributed anymore. In the future..
If you like beat em ups, you can’t go wrong with river city girls.
I really was interested in that title, but idk why, ever since a child I've had issues with playing any main character that isn't a male. Perhaps it's because I'm a guy myself 🤷🏼♂️. As time has went on I've played more and more games with female main roles & loved them, but River City Girls is one I've been on the fence about..
i enjoyed it up to a certain point. but what i HATED about the game was that the enemies scale with your character level. there is no feeling of progression in that game and it takes way too long to beat up randon foes. the game quickly became drawn our and frustrating. i got to a certain boss fight that was broken and i called it quits. a game with lots of potential but lacking in execution in some fundamental areas. a real pity.
@@christhepocketmasterr I have SoR4 on the Switch digitally. & Tbh it's a great game, but I only play BeatEmUps with my kids since BEU's are just a easy game for any kid to learn & they are both 5 & 7. SoR4, Castle Crashers & the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger BeatEmUp are our current go to games. But since my 5 year old is a girl I have thought about picking up River City Girls for her to play.
I have it pre-ordered at PlayAsia for both Switch and PS4. Just waiting for the PS4 version to be in stock so I can get both shipped together. Taking forever on the PS4 restock....

Yesss!!!!! Mad Rat Dead Love!!! I love that game so much, the cover is so pretty as well, a total highlight of my collection. Easily on my top 10 games.
The art is amazing, i love the designs, the music is so good, like really good. The story is also good and unique. And of course, the unique gameplay.
But it's kinda short, i wish there's more because i just can't get enough of this game, i love it

Physical games will always be the format of my choice as well, but changing cartridges on the Switch is such a chore.

I currently have 214 physical Switch games, yet I'm seeing you have a lot of games I haven't seen or tried before. It's great seeing how many games and genres the Switch has to offer. I'm glad to see you got Freedom Finger. It's a fun shmup with a great soundtrack.

Amazing collection! That pic of Shadow Bug at the end reminded me of how nice the presentation of 1st Press games are with the faux leather sleeve and collector coin they have. It's always nice to have something on the Switch shelf that breaks up the bright red spines. I've been really into all the indie games on Switch too, I thought of some physicals you might want to check out- Aegis Defenders, Teslagrad, Bomb Chicken, Penny-Punching Princess, Guacamelee One-Two Punch Collection, Killer Queen Black, Kero Blaster, Yoku's Island Express, Risk of Rain 2, A Hole New World, Sparklite, CrossCode, Indivisible, Super Cane Magic Zero, Lethal League Blaze.

Funny thing about that Shantae game. I ordered one a long while ago for 30 dollars. And when it arrived they accidentally sent me two of them. So I basically got two of them for 15 dollars each. But I’m the same way...I don’t care what the price of them are now. I’d rather just own them.
It's not all that unusual for LRG to accidentally send you an extra copy. I've had that happen twice before. One was ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove, not hugely valuable at around $40. The other was Celeste, which is an amazing game and worth a LOT at around $120 sealed.
You got Machinarium , it's amongst my favourites .
So cool to hear you mention Mudrunner! It’s a great off-road simulation game that is white knuckle action at 5mph. I’m actually playing the sequel Snowrunner while watching this video!
Mud Runner looks very cool. The military trucks like the 2.5 ton (Deuce & a half) going through those mud ruts is exactly the situations that took place in "Driver's training". It was more an excuse for the motor Sergeant and drivers to have fun. Our Sergeant would say it's impossible to get some of his vehicles stuck then oh boy he's get pissed when we did. Good times.
Check it out, that game is sick! The sequel Snowrunner is really good too but I’m not sure if it’s on the switch.

Its interesting you say what you do, because many in gaming believe he's done the exact opposite of making it accessible, from the result of his yt channel playing a relevant part in retro gamings sudden rise in prices. From once affordable to no longer for many gamers.

Is great that you mention SuperRare Games. I buy their releases every month and currently have a complete collection from them. They usually send out each release a week after you buy from them too, so you're not waiting months for your game to arrive (like Limited Run).
Im waiting impatiently for Lonely mountains. A ghosts tale took around 5 weeks to arrive. Location location location!

Impressive collection man, I'm just keeping a nice humble collection so far I only got close to 40 games.
not about the quantity. unless all you care about is making profit, a small collection of games that are meaningful to you is worth a lot more than a large collection with random games in it, including a bunch of unopened and unplayed ones.
40 is a lot for your average person lol, game collectors give you a skewed perspective on what "a little" and "a lot" mean.
