Bro, I have it too on my legs and it took me a long time to be able to wear shorts, cos when I did I'd hear people say to their friends "eeuurgghh, did you see that guys legs, if I had legs like that I'd keep em Hidden man!" And other variations on that theme. A friend of mine said to me " screw those guys, they are your legs, and you gotta live with the pain not them, if they dont like it they dont HAVE to look right? Ever since I kinda dont give so much of a s**t , but I wouldn't say I'd exactly EMBRACED it ... you do you bro. I can honestly say I've never noticed it and I have watched a ton of your videos and enjoy your content. Keep on rockin M.J
The DS Lite is a great handheld too, it can play DS and GBA games, I use it with an everdrive to play all DS and GBA games, the screen is great and I love the small form factor, I take it with me more than any other handheld even the switch
Facts it was my first ds model, still have it to this day too. Even after getting the dsi xl (which I played a ton too) I still loved using the lite for the GBA games. And the design is super clean too
The original Game Boy will always be sacred to me, I remember when my Cousin first got it as kids...even being able to play Tetris while camping in the tent on a rainy night was amazing.

Ahh the 3DS. Where even collectors and enthusiasts may make mistakes with the weird naming of the “new” models. No biggie but your Yoshi 3ds xl is actually an older model than your red N3DSXL. Your video implies the reverse. Easiest way to tell is the layout and the lack of C stick on older models. Also! Perhaps next time we can talk about IPS screens. Modding has come a long way and all these handhelds now have the possibility of having an IPS screen. Gameboy, GBC, GBA, GBA SP. you could mention that all DSI XLs have dual IPS screens (but maybe not since the prices are so low atm) haha. The “new” 3ds xl also has the possibility of having dual IPS sceens. Just an idea perhaps for future videos.
The original Game Boy is probably my most enjoyed system of all time. When I was a kid my grandparents had some health issues so I spent a lot of time in hospitals and doctors offices. I still am really bummed that I was not able to get the Analogue Pocket, I am hoping that when they actually release those I can scoop one up.

9:13 the Gameboy Micro is actually a fantastic Handheld! It is very small but surprisingly comfortable, even with bigger hands. The screen is gorgeous and the stock backlight gave the best picture of GBA games at the time of the GBA Era. Sadly they are hard to find in good shape and Hella expensive :(
Impressive collection I still have some of my old handhelds especially my game boy color that was the first handheld I bought with my own money (I was 13 and working a summer job) and a copy of Pokemon Blue with it to this day it's still workable that's one of those items that has too much sentimental value to let go of.
Absolutely agree. My main switch is always docked most of the time. So I got the teal switch lite, which I keep in my backpack and take to work and such
Original DS will forever be my favorite, two slots from the start and screen I can use in the sun, fantastic system! N3DS takes second place for being an emulation powerhouse
I got a DMG as a young kid and then a color and then an advance. Never had a pocket originally, but now as an adult collector of sorts, I can’t get over the pocket. It just looks and feels so perfect, and the large screen is pretty sweet.
I wish i had the hindsight and the strength to part with all or some of the consoles i've owned over the years..i can't move in my room for so many..sadly i'm a born collector..i mean hoarder

I fell head over heels with the Micro when we got them in to test with at EA. I just thought it was so damn clever to make something that could fit in a shirt pocket. Even with that, I didn't pick one up because I had my SP that I was playing on almost every day. I regret not grabbing the Famicom colored one to this day.
All the Game Boys are very moddable, but the GBA mos scene is insane now. Backlight kits, rechargable USB C batteries, cases, buttons, LED kits, even audio amplifiers! Its a great way to get into soldering, or theres tons of drop in no solder mods too. GBC has a giant Q5 backlight screen too!
During the prime of the 3DS I never got to have one but I just picked up a 2DS at a retro game shop a couple months or so ago. I love my lil’ doorstop lookin DS though I’m considering also getting a 3ds with the 3D slider. Great collection! Makes me wish I could have kept my old GBA and DSs from my youth.
14:35 before getting one I had the exact same impression and opinion about the lite. But after getting one and using it for a few days I have to say the Switch Lite is the second best handheld I ever had (Vita being no. 1). Also I found the controls on the lite to be surprisingly more comfortable than the regular JoyCons!
As an 6'3 European here I'm watching it like, isn't that how it normally is. Now better thinking about it I can better understand ones view about controller size and layout, specially compared between Asian and Western in general. How Asian can prefer smaller controllers and be more comfortable and ergonomic to them, while bigger ones be better suited on Westerners with big hands. For me Personally I liked the Original Xbox Duke controller and the Sega Dreamcast controller which it took inspiration on, due to it's size and ergonomics for me.
@@sergeleon1163 Whoops, just woke up earlier when I read your comment and didn't realize that you did mention the Duke controller haha. Yeah I got the Xbox and launch and thank goodness my Dad was in Asia the next month so when he came back, we had the S Controller which made the console much better to play while the 2 Dukes we had were just for friends which were Asian lol. Yeah the only thing I didn't like about the DC pad were the hard D-Pad and the upside down cable haha.
I had the OG Game Boy and after that skipped a lot of handhelds. Fell in love with the 3DS, got the Zelda Ocarina of Time edition as well as New 3DS XL Majora’s Mask edition. Those days DS games were also cheap so I picked up more DS than 3DS games. Got 52 DS and 31 3DS games now, not that much, but some great ones in there.
Just to put some perspective to how old that Mario 25th anniversary edition DS is, Nintendo celebrated the 35th anniversary last year. My guess is it was an employee's old DS based on where you live.
Man, I have such fond memories of Nintendo handhelds, specifically GBC, GBA, and the OG ds. I remember when the DS came out, I was in middle school. I got a blue one with Mario 64. Every morning during school we would have to sit in the bleachers waiting for our day to start, so many people would enable the download play and a ton of us kids would be playing Mario kart. Not to mention the hours I’ve spent in the various RPGs on the GBA. Very nostalgic.
GBA SP was imo the best handheld ever made. It's the only handheld I actually made a daily carry with me. Because it fit in your front or back pocket, games were great, and battery life was more than you needed for a daily carry. And you could see screen without it being a drain. The only revision it needed was 4 face buttons. Every other handheld is either too bulky unless you have a bag, short life, screen needed protection, something that made it less than ideal. I liked the DS & 3DS, and PSP for home use but never took them out more than a few times. Switch I took to work a few times but to play it handheld I need to use a bulky grip or it makes my hands numb, battery is short, its too big to be a handheld. I had to have a surface or lap to play it in desk mode which felt awkward looking down at my lap with hands out by knees
The original slab style 2ds was released in 2013 and produced until the end of 3ds's lifecycle in 2020, even in parallel with the 2DS XL. I saw these everywhere and usually bundled with a digital game for under $100, often for $80.
A local game store by me when I was growing up used to have very good deals if you bought a new console. I remember paying 40 to 60 Canadian for the GBASP SpongeBob edition. I had no idea it had any sort of value and it’s been my main GBASP for years
Even as someone who isn't a die-hard Nintendo fan, EVERY TIME they release a new piece of hardware I can't help but want it. They design some fantastic devices that deliver awesome experiences.
4:09 I think most of those battery covers are missing from people buying those rechargable battery pack things that would let you plug your gameboy straight into the mains power so you could play while charging them, they stuck out so much but it was worth it not having to root through all your odd batterys in that draw everyone had in hopes of finding a few with a bit of life left in them haha.

I have the Mario maker 2ds limited. It is my favorite handheld and I'm glad you were able to include your two in the video. It does have a weird form factor that looks like it wouldn't be comfortable but it totally is!

Game Boy Advance was my first ever gaming device. Birthday present from my dad for my 10th. I used to have dozens of games for it but me, being a stupid kid, sold them to buy more xbox 360 games when I got that as a high school graduation present. Slowly starting to build back up my game boy game collection again but I do kind of regret selling all those games back then.
A little over a year ago I got the DSi I always wanted as a kid and used a hacking trick through the camera, allowing it to play roms from back to the original Gameboy. That's actually how I found this channel! I was looking up good DS games and got sucked in. I have a switch, a 3DS, and my first system, the DS lite. Also an original Gameboy I found at a yard sale in high school. But my favorite handheld has to be my DSi because of all the games I was able to put on it.
I have the Yoshi 3ds and play it to death still by far my favourite edition! Great collection mate, from UK and would love to game hunt over in the US. All the best
I went on a searching spree for Game Boy Micros since I never owned one before. Now I have a used one in great condition as well as a factory sealed one that I tracked down.
I just got the dandelion yellow gameboy color and the berry gameboy color which has been harder to find in my opinion for a fairly decent price at the 2021 Retro World Expo! Gameboy colors are my absolute favorite handhelds since I grew up with the limited edition gold/silver Pikachu gbc when I was a kid!
I'm a original gameboy owner and player. Cameboy color was the last from my childhood. But I'm glad I started collecting like 10 years ago....heck just 5 years ago I could still pick up GBC, Advance, SP and DS for $5 to $15 all day
Man, you have some amazing garage sales where you live. Finds like these in garage sales are extremely rare to find here in the Northeast. We have the SP and 3ds xl. I had the original Gameboy as a kid , totally regret getting rid of my stuff. Anyways, I have the game and watch Super Mario edition and look forward to the new one in November. Will definitely be getting that. We also have the Switch lite and Switch as well. I've restarted my collection of video game consoles. If I had only known as a kid that these would be worth something someday. I also grew up having the Odyssey , Atari as well as Nintendo and Sega. Never again will I sell off my video game stuff.
The first 3DS you showed was a New 3DS XL. The second one was just a 3DS XL. I've owned every 3DS iteration but none of the 2DSes (the original 2DS or the New 2DS XL). Had the original 3DS then gave that to a friend as a gift and got a 3DS XL. When the New 3DS was first announced I only wanted to get the New 3DS but then it was announced the US wasn't going to get it so I settled on a New 3DS XL...until they DID release the New 3DS in the US so I lapped that up ASAP (the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer New 3DS, to be specific) and pitched the New 3DS XL. I still use the New 3DS to this day.
Speaking of garage sales, I remember being a sophomore in high school (currently a 3rd year in college), and going to a garage sale and finding a original cosmic black 3ds for 30 bucks. The seller took 25 for it. It came with the charger and charging dock. Pretty good find. Also, on the lines the original 2ds, that is originally how I got to play 3ds titles. My mom didn't like the 3d effect of things, so she didn't want me to have a 3ds, so when the 2ds came out, it was more affordable and really appealing. A couple of years ago, you could find the original 2ds models for 80 bucks new with a downloaded copy of mario kart 7. It was a huge hit, especially for children as an affordable option of entertainment.
Oh man I love the Yoshi one! Those weird later 2DS systems might get highly sought after eventually, just like the Gameboy micro is now. Speaking of which, they are awesome dude! They have an amazing crisp screen because of the size and resolution and I don´t know, they have a classy feel!
Outside of "Ocarina of Time",and resident evil revelations ,,can't find enough offline m-rated games to keep me interested in 3DS or 2DS Nintendo's main target seems to be 6-year-olds ,,
At the moment I only have a blue and black 2DS and a version 2 Switch but Nintendo handhelds have always been something else - my first one was the GBC.
I have the Mario Game and Watch, an original clear purple GBA, the GBA SP in silver, a blue GBA SP 101, silver DS Lite, the Mario DSi XL, the black Mario New Nintendo 3DS, Zelda 2DS, MH 3DS XL, the Pokeball 2DS XL, the Animal Crossing Switch, and the Pokémon Switch Lite.
That's a cool collection. I hope you do more. Lilo and Stitch 2 on GBA is a surprise Metal Slug clone, but with cute Disney characters. Very under rated, plus Stitch RAWKS!
Just saw the post on twitter and rushed here. This is amazing! I managed to snag almost every US version of the 2DS and the new 2DS XL's recently, all I still need are the Pikachu and PokeBall 2DS xls and I'm done. That custom MJR GBA is amazing omg.

Highly approve… Greetings from the land down under (Perth, Australia). I have a number of NDS/3DS rigs and about 800+ NDS/3DS in my collection. Contemplating if I should complete my NDS/3DS collection as much as possible or collect other handhelds/consoles like GB, GBA, NES, SNES, etc.
I have an OG Game Boy, Glacier GBA, and NES Themed Advance SP... my older brother has Famicom Limited Editions of GBA SP and the GBA Micro, some of the cool handhelds in our collections. :)
One big reason the GBA’s have missing doors is a popular rechargeable battery replaced the door and I’m guessing many people tossed them or lost them and all those batteries were NiCad and died by now.
I have a regular 3DS, the Mario 3DS XL, and the Hyrule Zelda New 3DS XL Gamestop exclusive. I have older stuff too like a GBA SP which I had to reshell when the hinge broke and obliterated the shell. I had similar thought to you though with the Micro (Now a regret) I got a DS Lite which I had to reshell as well for the same reason. My first handheld was a Gameboy Color. Feels weird now with a backlit screen but I loved it. I don't have a Switch Lite as I cannot justify it. Definitely wouldn't bother now over getting the OLED model. The other oddity is the DS games that used the GBA slot too. Something lost in the DSi models. Just remember that the GBA SP and up can all be recharged via USB and with portable chargers. Beneficial in those periods of power loss.
Nintendo have been the masters of handhelds for decades. Plenty of contenders have entered the ring but Nintendo has buried them all. Out of all my game collections, Nintendo's portables are my most cherished. I totally get why people with large hands wouldn't like the GBA Micro, but it truly is one of my favorite systems of all time because of how comfortably it fits in a pocket. It's so compact that I generally bring it with me even if I'm not likely to play it.
Missing out not having a GameBoy Pocket. I still take mine on any road trip. The buttons on it feel much better than the GB color which are slightly more mushy and I like the smaller form factor.
One thing that I wish that could have been originally in New 3DS is HDMI connector. I heard that near Tokyo there were mod shops that modded your 3DS to be able to use HDMI connector.
Best of luck finding a GameBoy Pocket that doesn't have screen rot... It's my favorite GameBoy model, but those wafer thin screens just love to leak for some reason. If you're at all interested there's a guy on TH-cam who's managed to cram a GameBoy Color logic board into a GameBoy Pocket. Pretty cool IMO!
The Famicom 20th Anniversary Gameboy Micro and the Famicom SP are two of my most precious Nintendo handhelds. But I have to admit that the crimson red/black DS, although much cheaper to get, is almost as desirable to me as the other two are. Oh man, I love Nintendo 🤤

I have a silver ds lite, a oled PlayStation Vita and a switch. traveling wise I take the vita and ds lite.

Those GBA battery covers are easy to replace. You may not get a matching color, but it beats using tape or just having it missing 😉

You can get aftermarket ones that are color matched on Amazon all day
My red Gameboy Pocket has a blue battery cover and it doesn't look bad, tbh. Sometimes a different colored battery cover can look nice.
I personally think a clear battery cover looks better on pretty much all colours rather than an off colour one. Just a thought. 😁

The DS Lite is hands down my favorite Nintendo handheld. Those were tanks. Outlasted my DSi which always had faulty shoulder buttons

As an 6'3 European here I'm watching it like, isn't that how it normally is. Now better thinking about it I can better understand ones view about controller size and layout, specially compared between Asian and Western in general. How Asian can prefer smaller controllers and be more comfortable and ergonomic to them, while bigger ones be better suited on Westerners with big hands. For me Personally I liked the Original Xbox Duke controller and the Sega Dreamcast controller which it took inspiration on, due to it's size and ergonomics for me.

Yeah I got the Xbox and launch and thank goodness my Dad was in Asia the next month so when he came back, we had the S Controller which made the console much better to play while the 2 Dukes we had were just for friends which were Asian lol.
Yeah the only thing I didn't like about the DC pad were the hard D-Pad and the upside down cable haha.
I had the OG Game Boy and after that skipped a lot of handhelds. Fell in love with the 3DS, got the Zelda Ocarina of Time edition as well as New 3DS XL Majora’s Mask edition. Those days DS games were also cheap so I picked up more DS than 3DS games. Got 52 DS and 31 3DS games now, not that much, but some great ones in there.
Just to put some perspective to how old that Mario 25th anniversary edition DS is, Nintendo celebrated the 35th anniversary last year. My guess is it was an employee's old DS based on where you live.

Man, I have such fond memories of Nintendo handhelds, specifically GBC, GBA, and the OG ds.
I remember when the DS came out, I was in middle school. I got a blue one with Mario 64.
Every morning during school we would have to sit in the bleachers waiting for our day to start, so many people would enable the download play and a ton of us kids would be playing Mario kart.
Not to mention the hours I’ve spent in the various RPGs on the GBA. Very nostalgic.
GBA SP was imo the best handheld ever made. It's the only handheld I actually made a daily carry with me. Because it fit in your front or back pocket, games were great, and battery life was more than you needed for a daily carry. And you could see screen without it being a drain. The only revision it needed was 4 face buttons.
Every other handheld is either too bulky unless you have a bag, short life, screen needed protection, something that made it less than ideal. I liked the DS & 3DS, and PSP for home use but never took them out more than a few times. Switch I took to work a few times but to play it handheld I need to use a bulky grip or it makes my hands numb, battery is short, its too big to be a handheld. I had to have a surface or lap to play it in desk mode which felt awkward looking down at my lap with hands out by knees
The original slab style 2ds was released in 2013 and produced until the end of 3ds's lifecycle in 2020, even in parallel with the 2DS XL. I saw these everywhere and usually bundled with a digital game for under $100, often for $80.
A local game store by me when I was growing up used to have very good deals if you bought a new console. I remember paying 40 to 60 Canadian for the GBASP SpongeBob edition. I had no idea it had any sort of value and it’s been my main GBASP for years
Even as someone who isn't a die-hard Nintendo fan, EVERY TIME they release a new piece of hardware I can't help but want it. They design some fantastic devices that deliver awesome experiences.
4:09 I think most of those battery covers are missing from people buying those rechargable battery pack things that would let you plug your gameboy straight into the mains power so you could play while charging them, they stuck out so much but it was worth it not having to root through all your odd batterys in that draw everyone had in hopes of finding a few with a bit of life left in them haha.
2DS is great. I got it new a few years ago for $80 with Mario Kart.

I have the Mario maker 2ds limited. It is my favorite handheld and I'm glad you were able to include your two in the video. It does have a weird form factor that looks like it wouldn't be comfortable but it totally is!

Game Boy Advance was my first ever gaming device. Birthday present from my dad for my 10th. I used to have dozens of games for it but me, being a stupid kid, sold them to buy more xbox 360 games when I got that as a high school graduation present. Slowly starting to build back up my game boy game collection again but I do kind of regret selling all those games back then.
The Yoshi 3DS was the first 3DS I got and the design looks awesome!

A little over a year ago I got the DSi I always wanted as a kid and used a hacking trick through the camera, allowing it to play roms from back to the original Gameboy. That's actually how I found this channel! I was looking up good DS games and got sucked in. I have a switch, a 3DS, and my first system, the DS lite. Also an original Gameboy I found at a yard sale in high school. But my favorite handheld has to be my DSi because of all the games I was able to put on it.
I have the Yoshi 3ds and play it to death still by far my favourite edition! Great collection mate, from UK and would love to game hunt over in the US. All the best

I went on a searching spree for Game Boy Micros since I never owned one before. Now I have a used one in great condition as well as a factory sealed one that I tracked down.
I just got the dandelion yellow gameboy color and the berry gameboy color which has been harder to find in my opinion for a fairly decent price at the 2021 Retro World Expo! Gameboy colors are my absolute favorite handhelds since I grew up with the limited edition gold/silver Pikachu gbc when I was a kid!

I'm a original gameboy owner and player. Cameboy color was the last from my childhood. But I'm glad I started collecting like 10 years ago....heck just 5 years ago I could still pick up GBC, Advance, SP and DS for $5 to $15 all day
Man, you have some amazing garage sales where you live. Finds like these in garage sales are extremely rare to find here in the Northeast. We have the SP and 3ds xl. I had the original Gameboy as a kid , totally regret getting rid of my stuff. Anyways, I have the game and watch Super Mario edition and look forward to the new one in November. Will definitely be getting that. We also have the Switch lite and Switch as well. I've restarted my collection of video game consoles. If I had only known as a kid that these would be worth something someday. I also grew up having the Odyssey , Atari as well as Nintendo and Sega. Never again will I sell off my video game stuff.
I used to own a silver Gameboy Advanced SP when I was a kid. I had a lot of fun playing on it.
The first 3DS you showed was a New 3DS XL. The second one was just a 3DS XL.
I've owned every 3DS iteration but none of the 2DSes (the original 2DS or the New 2DS XL). Had the original 3DS then gave that to a friend as a gift and got a 3DS XL. When the New 3DS was first announced I only wanted to get the New 3DS but then it was announced the US wasn't going to get it so I settled on a New 3DS XL...until they DID release the New 3DS in the US so I lapped that up ASAP (the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer New 3DS, to be specific) and pitched the New 3DS XL. I still use the New 3DS to this day.
Speaking of garage sales, I remember being a sophomore in high school (currently a 3rd year in college), and going to a garage sale and finding a original cosmic black 3ds for 30 bucks. The seller took 25 for it. It came with the charger and charging dock. Pretty good find. Also, on the lines the original 2ds, that is originally how I got to play 3ds titles. My mom didn't like the 3d effect of things, so she didn't want me to have a 3ds, so when the 2ds came out, it was more affordable and really appealing. A couple of years ago, you could find the original 2ds models for 80 bucks new with a downloaded copy of mario kart 7. It was a huge hit, especially for children as an affordable option of entertainment.
Oh man I love the Yoshi one! Those weird later 2DS systems might get highly sought after eventually, just like the Gameboy micro is now. Speaking of which, they are awesome dude! They have an amazing crisp screen because of the size and resolution and I don´t know, they have a classy feel!

The Switch LITE is my favorite. Great screen. Nice and light. And it actually has a decent dpad. Having the dpad is a must in my opinion.

Greetings from the land down under (Perth, Australia). I have a number of NDS/3DS rigs and about 800+ NDS/3DS in my collection. Contemplating if I should complete my NDS/3DS collection as much as possible or collect other handhelds/consoles like GB, GBA, NES, SNES, etc.
I have an OG Game Boy, Glacier GBA, and NES Themed Advance SP... my older brother has Famicom Limited Editions of GBA SP and the GBA Micro, some of the cool handhelds in our collections. :)

That's too true about the battery pack covers of the GBA!! Finding one that's either not taped or missing entirely is like finding a unicorn! Lol
One big reason the GBA’s have missing doors is a popular rechargeable battery replaced the door and I’m guessing many people tossed them or lost them and all those batteries were NiCad and died by now.

I have a regular 3DS, the Mario 3DS XL, and the Hyrule Zelda New 3DS XL Gamestop exclusive. I have older stuff too like a GBA SP which I had to reshell when the hinge broke and obliterated the shell. I had similar thought to you though with the Micro (Now a regret) I got a DS Lite which I had to reshell as well for the same reason. My first handheld was a Gameboy Color. Feels weird now with a backlit screen but I loved it. I don't have a Switch Lite as I cannot justify it. Definitely wouldn't bother now over getting the OLED model. The other oddity is the DS games that used the GBA slot too. Something lost in the DSi models.
Just remember that the GBA SP and up can all be recharged via USB and with portable chargers. Beneficial in those periods of power loss.

Nintendo have been the masters of handhelds for decades. Plenty of contenders have entered the ring but Nintendo has buried them all. Out of all my game collections, Nintendo's portables are my most cherished.
I totally get why people with large hands wouldn't like the GBA Micro, but it truly is one of my favorite systems of all time because of how comfortably it fits in a pocket. It's so compact that I generally bring it with me even if I'm not likely to play it.

Missing out not having a GameBoy Pocket. I still take mine on any road trip. The buttons on it feel much better than the GB color which are slightly more mushy and I like the smaller form factor.
One thing that I wish that could have been originally in New 3DS is HDMI connector. I heard that near Tokyo there were mod shops that modded your 3DS to be able to use HDMI connector.

The Famicom 20th Anniversary Gameboy Micro and the Famicom SP are two of my most precious Nintendo handhelds. But I have to admit that the crimson red/black DS, although much cheaper to get, is almost as desirable to me as the other two are. Oh man, I love Nintendo 🤤
