    For those curious Oct 25th firmware makes 144hz 4k selectable on Nvidia cards.

      @@raygomez2115 I picked it up Wednesday of last week and have it setup on my pc with a 3080, 144hz works flawlessly with hdr and gsync. Make sure you have an hdmi 2.1 cable for the 48Gbps. I had to hobble around for a few days with a 2.0 18Gpbs cable until the new one arrived. It works somewhat but will go blank for a second from weak signal every 30-60mins
      I’m sure you’ll love the tv with all of its options. 144hz, 120hz, 240hz 1080p (turn off gsync for this or it will force hz down to 72hz even if it says 240)
      The blacks are deep black, looks like oled. (minus the issues those suffer)
      Dolby vision support is also great. This tv is a gem so you’re gonna have a fun with it once you’re all set up, gl!

      @LightPillar หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@antos1951 Make sure the firmware is updated on the tv and that you have HDMI format on the tv settings on HDMI 3 & 4 set to Enhanced 144Hz/240hz and that you use either of those 2 ports on the PC.
      Counterintuitively you need to have High Refresh Rate Mode off, it might become unavailable on its own when you use the settings above.

    Great video... headed out today to purchase a 55" Hisense U8 to pair to my new Alienware G16 14th Gen I9 w/ the Nvidia 4080. I'm hoping to get some smooth 4K game play as I ease back into the gaming world... Thx!

    I have to keep mine at 1440p. For whatever reason, I was only able to get 4K 120Hz working when I changed the color output to 420, but then the picture looked blah and I couldn't enable HDR. Maybe my video card has something to do with it, an RTX 3070.

    Is there a setting to enable All low latency mode?
    Or do you basically just enable game mode.

    I watched your video a few years ago on the Samsung Q60R for PC gaming. Do you think the Hisense U8K is a big enough jump in picture quality to make the switch? I mainly want it since the Sony X90J I have is turning out to be disappointing in PC support so I back to using my bedroom TV for most of my gaming but I notice how much better games and movies like on the Sony X90J compared to the Q60R that it looks like crap to me now.

    • @JoelsterG4k
      @JoelsterG4k  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes this is definitely an upgrade compared to the Q60R, much improved picture and colors and it has all the gaming features.

    I have question, could you tell me if a gtx 1080 can do 1080p 240hz/1440p 144hz/4k 60hz with hdmi 2.0b cable or is it not possible with this cable. Since this tv doesn't have display port please guide if it's possible to use the refresh rate with 2.0b cable. Thank you love your video

    Is the local dimming/contrast worse when game mode is on? I am on a 55" Samsung QN90B so there seems like no point in me getting a Hisense but I found it for a cheap price under 800$ including tax, I am in a dilemma on buying it just to compare it to my QN90B, on the QN90B when you are using it as a PC monitor, you don't need to have game mode on for low input lag, it's the same when it is off, I guess it isn't like this for the Hisense U8K? On the QN90B you only need to use game mode for low input lag if you are playing on a game console.
    Do you think it is worth buying in my situation? I just wanted to compare it side by side and see which I like better. I guess if I didn't like it i would have to return it.

    • @J2thebar
      @J2thebar 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have 65" u8k. I had Samsung before this I think it's the same as ur but can't be sure. The local dimming/contrast actually is totally unaffected by game mode. BTW in this video he says if u want 144hz you have to to 1440p. Not true they fixed that with first update. I run 4k 144hz HDR with freesync Pro. You can run Chroma subsampling 4:4:4. The only downside I see specs wise is it's an 8bit frc and not 10 bit panel. But tbh I cannot tell. It's that good. Close to OLED good. The 75" model is a different panel so idk how good it is. There is only 1 TV close for the price and it's the TCL QM8.

    • @chronos2157
      @chronos2157 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@J2thebar So the 55" U8K isn't a 10 bit panel either? I have it now, I like it but i won't know for sure if I like it more than my QN90B until I do a side by side comparison using it as a computer monitor/pc gaming dual monitor clone mode.
