- It's time for another one of my projects.... but wait this isn't mine?
Today we carry on my friend Noel's Golf GTi mk3, he wants to start rallying so there's a list of jobs to get done before he starts.

Only recently came across you channel, and I must say your content is top quality
Cracking work as always, I used to work for a company making battery boxes and foot rests, roll cages amongst other things...really miss that job.
I enjoyed doing that, feels great to make something…. A bonus if it actually works ha ha
Hey paul great job as always. Im from west wales road rallying background (home of the night events) and a navigator myself since 2000 and i can tell u that noels nav will apprechiate the footrest change and theres nothing worse than a high door bar. Although make sure to put some cage foam on the passenger door bar, there nothing worse than going flat out down a white and having ur elbow smash against it while trying to hold ur potty and shouting out instructions without the pain in ur voice 😂😂 👍
Hopefully I’ll get some cameras out for his first go. I’ve only done one night event myself, remember getting lost and going flat out through some random village in the middle of nowhere at 3am 🤣

Yep he did ,it's my car and the sunroof is now just blanked off with that rivetted panel

Nice one :) stumbled across an old build thread for this car on the club gti forum. Currently have a mk3 on a rotisserie awaiting some new metal on the bottom before getting built into a track car.

Would you take on a challenge project, my brother has a vauxhall astra H 1.9 automatic diesel and he wants to swap the engine and transmission to a 2.0L VXR engine and manual transmission, would that be hard to do?
It’d be a long old job, I’m too busy unfortunately trying to get the backlog of work done. Someone out there would do it though. 👍

Just a random thought, Paul... what about universal seat runners bolted to the floor & the footrest bolted to that with the pull handle pointing backwards. Ultimate adjustability 😃 Cheers. Leigh. PS: The Cossie Viva HC is now a 4.6 V8 😁

note you can invert the safety guard on the grinder to change the way you cut with it

where did you bolt the skid plate on the gas tank?, was it where the strap also bolts in?
Yes kept the straps and fixed it over the top of those in the 4 places 👍
oooh alright cheers!, it would be a bad idea to make that out of sheet metal right? i thought of doing some for my own golf since i live in madeira and it keeps scratching the underside almost everywhere

Fair play mate 👍 doesn't look comfortable in the navigators seat, maybe set down and tilted back slightly.... Depending on the size of the navigator! You can easily spend a day per seat getting the position right!! Good little build series 👌
True, I think it’ll be a happy medium for a nav and to take passengers out for fun 👍
