Don’t knock yourself Dave my eyesight is so crap it looked fine to me mate , nice stellar job to you’d never know you repaired it ! Looking forward to the next vid already 👍
Morning Dave. Not that I’ve ever do something like restoring any sort of classic car 🤪 But I do admire guys like you who take on these projects and share them on TH-cam so we can enjoy them 👍🏻 It’s a lot better than watching tv especially staged programs like wheeler dealers lol 😆 Keep the great work up 👍🏻 Cheers Stevie
Video looked fine Dave, another good job done there , what a bummer though when you opened up that chassis leg and discovered that rust… but ‘hey Ho’ ! Ya sorted it, another cracking job 👍

Another top job Dave! On the subject of your "cutting disc of death" I made exactly the same device which has proved invaluable, but you may or not be aware that you can buy a type of mandrel, (got mine off ebay, I think you got 2 for less than a tenner) which is stepped down to 1/4" or 6mm to fit standard collets, but crucially has a 10mm diameter screw with a reverse thread which allows you to mount standard cutting discs with a 10mm centre hole, and no danger of the disc unscrewing itself.
great construction mate, and i use my old worn 4inch discs on either the drill or die grinder, theres so much you cannot use on the big grinder due to access, wheel well looks daunting but you'll have that done no probs mate.
It is good to see repairs instead of panels been replaced. Can’t wait to see the boot floor😁👍🏻 Are you keeping the car for yourself? Cos I would after all these hours you’re putting in!
Likewise, I thought the video quality was fine. Another great repair, even if the effort was greater than building a complete repair section. Had never picked up on that spare wheel well, of course the escort had a flat boot floor and had the spare almost vertical insde the nearside rear wing, counterbalancing the fuel tank. I dont know about running out of gas, I think you are going to run out of welding if you carry on at the rate you are going at. At least you've got the Manta to keep up your welding skills when the Escort's finished. Have you followed Metod Levart's Manta "A" build on youtube, he does great work too!
@@DavesGarageuk He's a Belgian that speaks good english and has been doing a total restoration on an A series. 46 episodes over the last 2 years. Imagine that the engine and drivetrain, suspension chasis rails and floorpans are near identical, so could give some insights for your "B", not that you ever appear to be in need of help!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....
I'm sure come that time either an alternative fuel, or even electrifying classic cars will be more affordable. Cross that bridge when we get to it, enjoy our classics now while we can.
nice job
Thanks!
Video quality perfectly acceptable.
I can watch this all day
Video looked fine to me, the frame patch looked awesome.
Cheers Will 👍
Thank you for the info

Methodical while winging it.... love the content, great results as per....
Thanks, I love that 🤣
Hi Dave, video quality was fine, thought the light level and detail of the new camera was better too. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for that 👍
Do you have a finger sander?
I find it very useful for this type of work
I did try a cheapo one, but it was too slow, on my tools wish list
Have you stopped work on the escort? I am about a year behind you and find your videos motivating.
Still working on it, currently doing the boot floor, taking forever. And I've been on holidays 😊😊

I've got my rear chassis rails to do on my mk4 escort but would really like to get some sort of long spray wand to spray the insides, any ideas dave
Hi Mark, when I bought my gravitex gun, it came with a flexible extension that can be used for cavity wax injection
It is good to see repairs instead of panels been replaced. Can’t wait to see the boot floor😁👍🏻

That's the plan, this one's a keeper.
That’s the right answer👍🏻

EZ speedclic, not cheep, but worth it.
What welder do you usd
Hi Gav, it I'd the R-Tec mig 180, it is a brilliant welder.
