What's going on everyone, I hope you are doing well! Check the video description for more specifics on this setup. Also I will be doing a through video talking about this whole process next week. Thanks for watching and enjoy!
You have absolutely saved me from the commitment of siliconing my whole tank!! Im doing an upgrade bioactive build tank for my ball python and this foam wall method is absolutely outstanding!! Your videos and builds are amazingly well done, and I'm sure you save people like me every day!
Loved the part of the video where you were moving the plants and stuff around while Houdini was in the tank and he was checking out what you were doing every step of the way. What a cool snake.
I wish I was one of your pets. Such a luxury well taken care of life. Need to shed skin? Sure let's make it rain on command just for your convenience. If only life was like that. One day. Ahhhhhhh.
Awesome video! You present some clever solutions to challenges posed by keeping active snakes or lizards in naturalistic vivariums. Well done! I'm planning to get an eastern indigo snake soon and looking to try a naturalistic setup, and this definitely gives me some new ideas.
Dunno if anyone had told you this but you have a EXTREMELY soothing voice. Anytime I'm stressed or having a bad day I watch one of your videos and my day is better. Also your very satisfying to watch your so methodical.
Dude! So first off, the snake is adorable and I'm pretty new to your channel but I'm already in love with all of your designs. Second, please say yes if Disney ever asks to make a movie based on your terrariums. I keep seeing a group of animals who come out of their cages at night to hang out and get into shenanigans while the guy who builds the tanks, "the Builder" is away.
Love this & Learned a lot! I had a Redtail for 13 years. When I bought Thor he was about 12-13 inches. He grew roughly a foot per year. Looking back I wish I had been a little more creative with his enclosure. Thinking about getting another Retail. This time I plan on building an enclosure for its future growth and size. Thanks for the tutorial! 😎🤔😎
Always love your videos! Great ideas for the “removable” backgrounds and the false bottom with the potted plants. Gonna keep those in mind for some of my future builds for sure😊Definitely an awesome way of doing a snake enclosure. Keep it up, man!
Watching this video to get an idea for a ball python's enclosure! I love your videos. Your enclosures are always beautiful and work well for the animals that you want to place inside of them.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours. Probably has to do with the fact im obsessed with reptiles and snakes but you always do an exceptional job. You rock man
You should drill a hole beneath every plant and encircle each with a dam of silicone (2-inches in radius larger to the pots). install plumbing for each hole. Its a better alternative than to have water to trickle down into just one drain.
I keep 2 corn snakes in modificated tubs (one of the long side has been removed to glass, by me). I use pots with mosquito mesh too (just not with rubber band, I used zipties), about the digging. But I use springtails, and isopods too, with a bunch of leaf litter, sticks, and branches. I like it this way, cause the snake has some more thing to react (snakes and isopods are not harm to each other, so why not?). These little buggers are so cute, every time when Iam handling the snakes, change watter, adding more leaf, or just watching the terrariums they always pop up, I love them so much. And last but not least less cleaning is nessesary, with the cleaning crew I minimized the cleaning of the snake tubs.
One way you can sterilize large pieces of wood that are too large to boil or bake is to wash and scrub thoroughly. Then you can place them in a vehicle parked in direct sunlight with the windows up. In the summer months temperatures can exceed 200°F. I leave them in there 4 to 5 hours during the hottest part of the day. I've done this with large pieces of slab rocks and after a few hours you can't handle them with your bare hands.
Know I’m commenting on an old video here, but THANK YOU for this one!!! I’ve been really digging your content lately & want to get into tank building myself, particularly thinking about attempting a tank that incorporates live plants for my ball python. This video is *super* helpful!
I was looking for something to build for my BTS and Beardy so thank you for doing this build and recording it! I can't wait to get building my own and switching my animals over to something much larger. My skink is currently in a 40gb, so I know he will really like an upgrade.
I've watched several of your videos, and I see you really take great pride and joy in making the best enclosures possible for your animals. I'm having a difficult time finding the other video where you explain more of the whys and what ifs and the because ofs with this enclosure versus quite a few of the other ones I've seen on your channel. I have an African Fire Skink, they're a tropical lizard, and unlike the king snake where they can burrow, but spend a lot of time on the surface, my lizard spends most of it's time burrowed in the substrate. Ideally, I want to figure out a way to give him a bioactive enclosure, with lots of live plants, but I'm not sure how to make that possible. What are the biggest challenges, and setbacks you've faced, for making a bioactive enclosure for a burrowing reptile, and how do you think that could be made possible? I understand the practicality of this enclosure, but the idealist in me wants to find a way. I love my lizard dearly, and I really do want to give him the best home I possibly can. And I must say, you and your channel have given me the most information, and the most inspiration I'm come across, to actually be able to do something better about my lizard's home.
So rad!! Really gives me inspiration to build something down the road once my ball python grows up a little! Right now I have him in a glass aquarium that opens from the top. I really love the front opening enclosures. Thanks for sharing your work with us!
I have been keeping snakes for 16 years now. I have a columbian red tail boa and 2 ball pythons. I would love to create a natural terrarium like this for them some day. But with large powerful snakes they tend to destroy everything. This is an awesome setup though. Very inspiring and informative.
Turned out awesome! My only recommendation is to maybe ad some of his old half logs in the back on the warm and cool sides just because he would probably like some smaller tighter hiding spots it :)
I've been kicking myself because I discovered bioactive after getting my snake and I thought it was too late, I didn't even think of using foam! Looks like I have my next project lined up!
One thing that will help you roughen up foam to give it a good grip surface would be a decaying tool used to scratch the surface of honeycomb to break the caps
Awesome build! One thing I'd like to mention. Be careful with the rubber bands on the plants. They can catch Dean's scales and possibly tear one off if he happens to crawl under them.
Amazing work. So cool I enjoyed it. Your channel is very helpfull and interessting. I also have an Aquarium and a terrarium with my to little carolina anole. Its so cool to watch how you make the design of a new work. Keep going🔥
Like the idea, great encouragement, but what about adding a two or three light system that works on a time schedule, like a morning light that's full spectrum, midday that's full spectrum and infrared, night just infrared? Never seen that done before
I always want to have extravagant terrariums for my animals but it always comes out sloppy and unfinished, it's also hard to get all of the supplies at once. Is there any tips you can give me?
What's going on everyone, I hope you are doing well! Check the video description for more specifics on this setup. Also I will be doing a through video talking about this whole process next week. Thanks for watching and enjoy!
SerpaDesign good job. This looks amazing and he seems to really like it.
SerpaDesign I love watching your build videos. They're so relaxing. Keep up the good work! :D
Simply awesome video. Thank you for sharing your awesomeness. I appreciate your hard work on these awesome videos. 😁
Hi! Can you please help me?
I would like to do a bioactive setup for my ball python but im wondering if a heat pad is necessary or not?
hi would you be willing to make me an veiled chameleon plywood enclosure with good ventalation for money because i loved this build
This is mtv cribs for snakes
True 😂😂
You have absolutely saved me from the commitment of siliconing my whole tank!! Im doing an upgrade bioactive build tank for my ball python and this foam wall method is absolutely outstanding!! Your videos and builds are amazingly well done, and I'm sure you save people like me every day!
Kelson Vazquez would you be down to make video of your set up I wanna go bio active when I finally get my ball python and set up,?
Loved the part of the video where you were moving the plants and stuff around while Houdini was in the tank and he was checking out what you were doing every step of the way. What a cool snake.
I love how dedicated you are! It’s absolutely beautiful, and is something I’ve been trying to find on TH-cam forever! Amazing job!
There is something oddly satisfying about him putting the coco fiber background on lol
I wish I was one of your pets. Such a luxury well taken care of life. Need to shed skin? Sure let's make it rain on command just for your convenience. If only life was like that. One day. Ahhhhhhh.
I hate when I have to shed my skin and it won't rain
@@Dueilangoisseus same
Chashmodai same tho fr
Chashmodai ugh big mood tbh
And free food every week, mmh thawed out mice, yummy.
The finished build came out great and Dean looks very happy🐍. You put a lot of thought into everything and I'm certain it will grow in nicely 👍

Houdini is a handsome slithery boi! I love him he is so precious!
Plus that's a badass name for a snake.
That snake is probably the happiest snake ever the cage is so cool the snake has so much space
I like that while you were messing with the plants with him in there he kept following your hand
Plywood enclosures are getting so popular, and I love it!
I wish i lived in there
Kassandra Soto d
hahahaha
you really do? never to be able to go out again in your life? never watch a sunset at the beach? meet friends? go hiking? I dont think so..
Lol same
no you dont

*I've watched this over 19 times, still like to watch it!*
Watching this video to get an idea for a ball python's enclosure! I love your videos. Your enclosures are always beautiful and work well for the animals that you want to place inside of them.
Holy moly. I'm so impressed with the amount of detail you've thought of, for your buddy Houdini! 😁 round of applause 👏🏻 🙌🏻
Damn bro! You definitely take reptile care to a whole new and full of experience level.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours. Probably has to do with the fact im obsessed with reptiles and snakes but you always do an exceptional job. You rock man
That's so cool! I might use a few of these ideas for my corn snake's tank :) he also likes burrowing.
I love how when you where fixing the plants he kept coming up to you to see what you where doing lol.
Learned a lot in this video. Your a good teacher!
Beautiful work as always! Such a happy and healthy looking snake 💕
Your snake is gorgeous! He looks happy in his new home
Unbelievable, as always!!! Tanner, you 'da man!!
You should drill a hole beneath every plant and encircle each with a dam of silicone (2-inches in radius larger to the pots). install plumbing for each hole. Its a better alternative than to have water to trickle down into just one drain.
Dean seems to like it. Good job, it's really a nice tank!
Wow! This is the most creative project I’ve ever seen! I’m now a fan and a new subscriber!
I would really like to know how this enclosure aged, it looks awesome!
Blue star ferns are so pretty! Good idea.

That is a beautiful & amazing enclosure! I'm sure your beautiful king snake Dean will be happy in his enclosure. 😊❤️🐍
Haven't seen such a detailed video in a while.. absolute classic..keep up d good work..
Dean is so cute! What a lucky snake :)
Know I’m commenting on an old video here, but THANK YOU for this one!!! I’ve been really digging your content lately & want to get into tank building myself, particularly thinking about attempting a tank that incorporates live plants for my ball python. This video is *super* helpful!
"that said"
It's a really nice video. But boy you say "with that said" a lot 😋
But it will be great when the pumila gets a hold on the back ground
Im’ watching this at 2 AM and this calming video told me to go to bed and i’m grateful
Well done! Every step looks so precise and well thought out.
Would love to see an enclosure update/rebuild soon!
Great video! I can't wait to see future videos on this build! :-D
with that said I believe this is a masterfully executed design
I love Dean's tank..you did a wonderful job....❤

This is spectacular!
Your vision and execution are awesome. I wish I had your skill. You think of everything.
Beautiful snake.
Great setup! I really like the idea with the background, I’ve never heard of it before.
Dean is such a funny yet perfect name for a snake.
So rad!! Really gives me inspiration to build something down the road once my ball python grows up a little! Right now I have him in a glass aquarium that opens from the top. I really love the front opening enclosures. Thanks for sharing your work with us!
I'm impressed how well you take care of Dean. :-)
I have watched several of your videos!! You are very talented! I am building a 9' by 4 ' vivarium for a green basilisk.. and I love some of your ideas
Impressed with your skills and talent!

Houdini is so charismatic and curious, it’s very cute
I love it every time you release a new video :)
Wow!! Nice job that’s awesome!! Your snake must be happy
So creative! Fantastic work!
These videos get me so excited for when I get my own pets omg
Your videos are very entertaining. Please post more!
Great looking snake and enclosure!!
i was waiting for this video, tanks you :).
I will be interested if you do a video about yours goldfish.
I definitely will, but not any time soon.
Dude, your videos are so professional and helpful. Thank you!
Turned out awesome! My only recommendation is to maybe ad some of his old half logs in the back on the warm and cool sides just because he would probably like some smaller tighter hiding spots it :)
Very nice setup!
I've been kicking myself because I discovered bioactive after getting my snake and I thought it was too late, I didn't even think of using foam! Looks like I have my next project lined up!
Nice! If you place two bits of timber on either side of what your clamping you only need two clamps, one each end
Tyler awesome work. Youve inspired me to do something similar for my nile monitor!
i am having a hard time finding the big panels of coco fibre that you use. i love your vids!!!!
One thing that will help you roughen up foam to give it a good grip surface would be a decaying tool used to scratch the surface of honeycomb to break the caps

I must say good sir, I am a big fan of your work
Thank you for inspiring me to build my box turtle (named fast) a new naturalistic set up that he loves. Also yet another great video.
Awesome!
this was amazing, you are a genius
when my royal grows bigger I want a larger enclosure .. would you ever do this for hire if travel expenses also provided?
tight west coast beat. Holy piss thats a lot of effort. Lucky snake!
Now this is how a pets house should be
I had an albino king for 34 years. I made a dry cage. It was lined with cedar and a peg board back. I just kept clean newspaper down.
That's awesome it lived that long. As I said in the video description this is all over the top and completely unnecessary.
Your cage is aesthetically pleasing though!
Wonderful enclosure....very inspiring
Like the idea, great encouragement, but what about adding a two or three light system that works on a time schedule, like a morning light that's full spectrum, midday that's full spectrum and infrared, night just infrared? Never seen that done before
I always want to have extravagant terrariums for my animals but it always comes out sloppy and unfinished, it's also hard to get all of the supplies at once. Is there any tips you can give me?
that lil snek looks so *cute*
Again I have to say, exceptional job !
You are a genius!! Thank you for this great idea
Peace lily is a wonderful plant. I bet it grew well.
genius. my snakes are so grateful I found you!
Excellent work! thank you for sharing this awesome video :)
Amazing video. Great job!
My 10-year-old corn snake deserves something like this.
then build him something like this
nice work. Wonderful snake!
I'd love to see a dry bioactive vivarium
Wow this is amazing props to you! The snake seems so happy. 😄
I don't even own any reptiles but I love watching you :D
I will try something similar for my toad:)with more humidity of course 🤣
