That cute little dude looks so happy in his new enclosure. It is going to keep him exploring for weeks. It turned out great. Thanks for sharing the setup and him with us. GOD BLESS 🐍💖🐍💖🐍💖🐍💖
Even as someone who's kept many reptiles ranging from beginner snakes to rare, extremely advanced animals - king snakes are still awesome. They're just so simple to keep that they never ever feel like a chore. They're so inquisitive and active that they're fun to watch and handle; and the sheer variety of sub species and morphs is just crazy. Absolutely love king snakes. But enough of that rant. You've made a beautiful setup! Lots of enrichment for that hyperactive king Snake brain 😅
Haha thank you! I completely agree. I can't wait until he's a bit bigger, then he'll be even more enjoyable to watch and definitely to handle. They're awesome snakes. 🥰
Good morning Elle, great looking enclosure and the Croton adds so much color! Your enclosures are getting better and better in mho. Have a great week 😋and Memorial Day 💜
Good afternoon Elle, hope your week is amazing!! Are king snakes one of the best Reptiles for a beginner Reptiles keeper? They seem so calm I would think they are.
They're great, but they sometimes have a high feeding response and can accidently bite you. And they musk 😬 I haven't been bitten yet, but I get musked on every time 😅
If you're not creating a drainage layer and just doing the soil/sand substrate directly is it necessary to have some kind of charcoal in bottom or mixed in?
Thinking about getting me my first pet snake and was wondering if they had any tank’s with good sliding doors on the side, wanting to get a mexican black king snake
Hey Elle quick question do you absolutely need a dimmable thermostat for a deep heat projector or can I use my old thermostat I use for my heat mats? What would be a good alternative for a deep heat projector?
Hey Ellie for my first reptile I am going to buy a blue tongue skink I have bought a 4 by 2 by 2 PVC enclosure with a 100 watt ceramic heat emitter and a Arcadia 12 percent uvb desert led light should I also get a halogen heat lamp on the basking side?
The fake plants in my king's enclosure constantly get knocked over and crawled on making me hesitant to go bioactive. Live plants wouldn't have a chance.
I just don’t understand the use of eco earth.. kingsnakes don’t want, like or need humidity. This stuff is awful Not a single mention of heating/what you’re doing for heating. Poor
Looks like he enjoyed exploring the new area! Great job. 😎👍
He really did, and he's still exploring every day 😁
Happy Sunday as Always🫂💕
Happy Sunday! 💜
Haha oh my goodness - he looks so small in that tank - it looks amazing! HE IS SO CUTE!
Haha doesn't he?! That's why I was super careful about escape proofing it 😅 so far so good. And thank you!

I have a Florida or brook's king snake and he's the friendliest snake I own. He's never even attempted to bite me.
My ball python will hiss at me lol.
He's definitely busy checking everything out! I think he likes it! 😊
I think so too. He's still out exploring all the time 🥰

I bought my first order from Dubia Dude. My beardie loved the roaches so much, I put in a second order! I mentioned Elle's Reptiles both times!
Awesome! I could watch your king snake explore all day lol

How often change substrates? How long til smells?

What basking bulb did you use? The link didn’t work for me.
I’m so early! I love it!!!
Thank you! 🥰
Would you suggest this same substrate for Everglades rat snake?

So far so good, but that's going to quickly change as he gets older (or when he realizes where the plants roots are) 😅
