- What on earth is satirical power metal I hear you ask? Well, let me tell you. I'm not quite sure. However, today we are going to watch the latest single from the band Nanowar of Steel and it's called "Disco Metal". Have you heard of them before? Would you listen to this or go see this live? nanowar jump from style to style with whatever they're parodying, so its always worth checking out their other work. The unifying theme is they love metal, love italy, and mock both extensively, but with affection.

The used to be called just "Nanowar" as a parody of "Manowar" but, after another famous italian power metal band has changed their name from "Rapsody" to "rapsody of fire", they added "of steel" as a prank

As someone else wrote below, their original band name was just "Nanowar". They changed it to Nanowar of Steel after Italian power metal band Rhapsody changed their names to Rhapsody of Fire. But the pun in "Nanowar" is a reference to the word "nano", which means "dwarf" in Italian.
Their song Valhallelujah is a masterpiece, cameo by Angus from (used to be at least) Gloryhammer as Santa Odin. 🤘🏼🎅🏼🤘🏼

Love your content since the dawn of The Darkness... Your band's sound is like a really clever joke with a lot of layers, and your chops both at singing and guitar playing are just amazing, and your kitchen (drums+bass) are solid as a rock. The Darkness sounds like a parody of glam/hair bands, with serious musicality. Keep rocking.

One of my favourite bands, got into them because Barbie, MILF Princess of the Twilight randomly appeared in my suggestions a few years ago and I haven't looked back since 😄 I don't think this is one of their better songs though honestly, the whole Stairway to Valhalla album was top notch.
My first introduction to these guys was their Norwegian Reggaeton, love these guys so much, glad you're covering the new single!

In what weird world are Bring Me the Horizon power metal? They are just alt-metal or electronic metal. Blind Guardian or Helloween come to mind as quintessential power metal bands.

When I first saw this video, I was confused. It seems Disco is a bit more broad of a definition in Italy than it is in USA. Realizing it's a goof on Techno, I enjoyed it more. But, I am now longing for Bee Gees and A Taste of Honey inspired goofy Metal.
Another genre mash-up song of theirs is Norwegian Reggaeton. Justin, please watch that video. I think you will enjoy it as well.

Floor filler is way better. It seems like y'all shop at the same clothing store? You might be able to find the mesh shirt there too that you admire? You could pull it off seriously. I had dejavu with Gary Oldham's vampire hair bumps on the dude with the purple wig. He needed to lick a switch blade for full effect. I believe the 'of steel' appendage to be a reference to the Italian Symphonic Power Metal band Rhapsody, when they had to change their name to Rhapsody Of Fire due to legal and financial issues.

Just a quick question Justin. Could you maybe one day do a video retrospective of The Stone Roses? I especially love The Second Coming (bit controversial I know!) Wow, i felt shocked too, i loved (againnnnn) your introduction and ending in the video. I guess your closet must be pretty interesting, and your free armpits shirt is "the bomb". The song reminds me to a song which sounded in every disco and pub in Spain in 90s, Extasi (Dj Chimo Bayo), but a little more weirdo. I never liked techno music, i think is almost one of the bit musical styles that i can not stand.
In other hand sometimes i have the idea to ask you a reaction to a spanish band that basicly make parody of rock songs, with hilarious lyrics. But then i leave aside my idea because the funny thing in their songs are the lyrics exactly, and you would need to they were translated, and not by google translator because is a terrible tool.
