Well, it is definitely more expensive, but it is much more durable than wood, so you don't need to replace any boards after 5-10 years like with wood. Also, composite decking is cleaner and nicer, and you don't need to re-paint/stain every couple of years. However, one con of composite decking is that whatever color you choose is what you have to stick with forever.
