I'm pretty sure you built that better then most actual homes that are built these days. Great job!!!!!!!!!
Really appreciate you 🙌
Whose husband is out just building little homes and has a neighbor that knows how to build little homes. This is Bob the builder world❤❤
lol love this comment ❤️
That's called the favor of God, bro!
I was impressed that your wife, neighbor & son all helped. Even your dogs made an appearance. I now have an appreciation for all that goes into building even a small space. Everything you did was driven by quality and excellence. My dream is to live in a tree house designed by Pete Nelson.
That space could make an awesome home office!
Best neighbor ever!
HA. Exact same thing I said.
Yep thats what I was thinking. If he's anything like my dad he just wants to help and teach. Hopefully he has full access to the gym, or at least a nice bottle of whiskey coming his way.
This is the first time i really enjoyed watching a video.. family projects are the best, the time spent with your family is priceless,a forever memory, your kid will talk about this beautiful experience in 60 50 30 years from now,15,000 is nothing for what you're getting back
May God bless your life my brother, your family.
Glad you enjoyed the video. You have been using the gym every day and love it so far but thanks for watching and God bless ❤️
As a kid of the 50's we built our own. Nice to see a family work on a need together. This tiny home was built with love and great craftman ship.. Great Job!
Blows my mind that you would make it that small. All that effort to encase one piece of equipment.
??? That one piece of equipment is a literal all in one home gym, plus theres still space to stretch and do yoga? Most people would kill for that setup, especially if they don't have to have it in their garage or a spare room.
Many communities have limitations on the size of " outbuildings" that can be put on a property. Don't judge.
He said it was going to be a short term rental and the city wouldn’t let them.
I agree the cost for that size structure for 1 piece of equipment id just bought a tuff-shed. But as a rental property owner Id be happy they built me a nice out house to up o my resale price or rental price.
Well they settled hard. Went from a rental property to a gym shed. Gonna take awhile to save $15,000 in gym membership fees.
Framing 10/10! But because you asked - you have to flash window/door frames on all 4 sides usually 3" on the sheathing and 3" onto the frame. Then install the windows with calking all around, but over hang the frame so it clears your siding. Then install counter flashing and then your finish siding. Water is going to come off the window and get between your siding.
Wow! Gym is simply a title… just like a “Tiny home” for his Gym…
Now repurposing is easy… just like those who turn a garage into a den or a bedroom into an office…
Ultimately… the time spent was quality learning, saving money doing it himself, time with wifey, and coming together as a community…
Bravo young man way to go!
The experience gained is priceless!❤❤❤❤
I like the railing. Stops anyone from falling 6 inches to their death. Safety first!
I particularly liked the part where he built the whole structure on blocks but cemented posts for the deck 🤦♂️😂
I'd like to see you coming out of the cabin after leg day. Those rails could save your life.
@@martinbacaloni4336 😂 touche'
😅😅😅
@@thehillcabin It's because the deck doesn't require a permit. The tiny house, likely, does if it's fixed. If it's mobile, in most locations, it doesn't.
This would a badass music production space. Throw some soundproofing in there and it'd be awesome.
Hahaha first thing I thought too.
Insulation is sound proofing
Ehhh.. I like the studio idea better. All that for a gym idk. I would just use a extra room for a gym 🤷🏽♀️
15 k to store 1 piece of equipment is wild I like the video nice job it came out looking nice
Except its terribly built, 15k for the foundation crumble and unpermitted work
15k???? I see about 2500 in material there. If that. And hes doing a decent job. Also, it.doesnt need a permit. Its less than 200 sq ft isnt connected to the house and is setting onn a floating foundation. Jesus poeple are dumb and unskilled., so many youtube armchair contractor experts chiming in. My gawd the cringe
Never nail with a brad nailer like that with your other hand near the end move back a bit on the other board your holding. If the brad nail hits a knot it can curl and shoot out into your hand ask me how i know
@@phreakyzeke5824 I was thinking that too. I didnt see $15K in material at all.
@@ImYourWattson maybe in labor if he had paid someone to do all that extra unnecessary mostly aestetic intricasies added on the front wall. Even he was being fully transparent when admitted it looks cool but wasnt practical, i see this often where homeowners see something flashy in a magazine and want it until learning whats involved with it
Absolutely beautiful build. Loved watching the video start to finish. Y'all did a great job of speeding up when needed and then back to normal speed. Commentary was really great too.
you never showed the led lights at night...lol great job. amazing work and craftsmanship! that was also cool for your neighbor to assist.
Omg just noticed lol
I was searching to see who else caught this. Was waiting for it!!!
@@angelinimartini we were promised...lol
Thank you for posting into one video. This could have easily been 6 weeks of videos, one video a week.
Well done!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💐💐💐
You’re welcome. It took us quite some time to build and film this so thank you for appreciating that.
I like it. It came out great. I personally wouldn’t have put the rack in there because it looks too tight and will probably be a pain to put on the plates on the barbell.
Loved watching and listening to the project. Your narration including the little details, sizes and types of materials, was super helpful
Love the preframing all sides making installation: seamless. Thanks for showing the expertise.
You did good! Nice work. I am a retired carpenter. Enjoy.
Getting approval from a retired carpenter works for me. Thanks for watching 🤙
neighbor get's best supporting role! lol this is so cool! I had to remind myself I wasn't watching HGTV. Great editing man!
One of the best start to finish build vids I’ve seen. Thank you
Thanks 😊 more videos coming soon ✌️
Agreed. Very good work
Aww, I was actually looking forward to a nighttime view so i could see the LED lights for the railing. It looks great and made me want to build one for myself! Thanks for the video with good details of products used and process of build. A+++
WOW, that is BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations!
I got to admit ... not to crazy for the outcome of use but, there is a color for everybody. I do thank you for the high detail and the patience you have on explaining step by step and like the fact that you didn't skip anything in your video. I watch the entire video and I am impressed. I you have more videos ...will like to see them. Anyone that takes a project on its own its really consider a Builder in my book. Great Job!!!!! Hope to see more soon ...
That’s more like a shed, an amazing one, but still a shed.
Very clean and meticulous build. Nice job!
This was a joy to watch. I don't know you from a can of paint yet here I am, super proud of your effort!
This is so cool!! I was thinking on how to get an art studio/den when you don’t have enough rooms in your house. This is a perfect idea, executed very well, and my husband and I can do this!! Wonderful job all of you and thanks for the run through on how to do this. 😊
Amazing! Well done, guys!
This is beautiful, and thanks for the detailed view into how it was built. I learned a lot, and feel inspired. Well done
I’m super impressed by your work and humbling attitude. Thx for sharing
awesome job I like how your humble approach always wanting to learn is such a breath of fresh air in a world of self proclaimed experts who would be look lucky to find thier backside with both hands. Great video strive to learn something new every day.
Things look great but I would suggest using "door stop" to install the small window instead of a dado. This would allow a much easier replacement in case the glass ever breaks.
You guys built a fabulous detailed step by step creation. I love this tiny home! (I've never watched a whole tiny home video but well Worth it)
I think the city was petty of course but I'm so glad you found a perfect use for it!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!
Can’t rent a dwelling without a toilet
SUPERB JOB!! CERTSINLY HELPS KNOWING HOW TO DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF! ( even when you say you don’t know-it sure looks good with your studying it first. Your wife up and the platform fearless bonus! & a neighbor to knowledgeably help whenever needed also bonus! You WALKED UP THOSE PLYWOOD SHEETS TO ROOFTOP AND CARRIED THOSE SHINGLES WITH EASE!
If your back hurts( even with your workout ease-not everybody could do that! LOVE THE WOOD CEILING! BEAUTIFUL DECK! I’ve seen that deck gizmo in other videos👍GREAT JOB!!
Awesome job! I also love how you made lemonade out of lemons. Be blessed.
Great job
.proud of you all, love the neighbor. Enjoy your labor with your family.❤
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. New video coming out in the next week or so. ✌️
Great, great job, Sir!!! Way to finish what you decided to start!!! Love the commitment! Hard work and dedication!!! Enjoy! 🙏🏽👊🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks 😊
I really like the details you put into this. The corner wood accents look great! Well done!
One of the best TH-cam videos I have ever seen. Thanks very much.
In the future, with that floor, a couple of batons 1x1 tacked under neath the insulation, gives a nice finish, and adds to “tightness” of build, if it matters for this , but for a tiny home Iwould, great build man!
Epic build video, great work!
Thank you new video coming soon ❤️
If you get any heat about not having staggered joints on the subfloor, those people are not competent builders. Ignore them. Also, what a great neighbour! One thing I noticed is next time, don't put sealant under your windows, and always shim them up a 1/4" to 1/2". If any moisture gets by your flashing, it will have nowhere to go and will just rot in the window jamb area.
Watching your videos has definitely helped me inagine & see the finished product before its completed! Love the vision and gym 🔥🔥
You did such a good job
The big, bad wolf would be able to blow this house down. Great job.
THAT NEIGHBOR!!! WHAT A GREAT JOB ALL AROUND!! Thanks for sharing!
17 minutes in, and im so amazed that it got me wanting to give it a try
Bro this came out FIRE! Great job.
You made this look so easy. Great job.
Dope. Not only the house but you made an awesome video!!!! Very entertaining.
Glad you enjoyed it
You needed to put “Z” flashing between the siding. Water will get inside the seam. You can’t rely on caulking.
The window flashing (the sticky kind) needs to be done from the bottom to top so there is always an overlap on your seams. You put your sides on first, then the top then the bottom. Any water that comes down the top will rook under that flashing.
Your window frames should have had a bigger gap between the framing so when the earth moves, it won’t break the glass.
I can’t tell but your floor joists should have been pressure treated since they are touching those concrete blocks. If they get wet they will rot out.
*This turned out great! Down the line I would definitely add a tv w/firestick or Echelon mirror to get more workouts in. I would also get a rack to mount my yoga mats and Pilates bar on the wall.*
Hell I would have made that into a tiny sports bar
Beautiful work man. You also have an amazing wife for allowing you to do this project. They need time make duplicates of her lol. Keep it up 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I loved that you use the wool insulation!
❤️
I LOVE thie look of this building! I can't believe the town wouldn't let you rent it out!! Awesome for a gym space too tho!!
Who says you have to let the town know about renting? I have a shed that looks like a tiny house. I use it as a shed but I actually rent it now. No one knows, no one needs to know and I'm getting rent money to help me out
At least until your neighbors complain. 🙄@@jesv4026
Depends on the area, but a lot of counties/towns have a building code that doesn't allow romex wiring. It also doesn't have AC/Heating, which many places require at least a heating element for livable spaces. Could be any one thing...
you would rent that little shack?
Absolute pleasure watching you guys building it. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching 👊
Awesome build. People are going to say how it could be better, but that thing look amazing and will last for a long time. ✨
Inspiring and motivational, great work. It can be a multifuncional space. At the end of the day you showed how to get a structure done, no matter the size. Keep it up!
This was such a cool video. It looks good. Big up Tom the neighbour!
Thanks 😊 Tom is awesome
Best video I have seen because the whole family is doing this together. Awsome
The pine corner is awesome, great idea!
I LOVE WATCHING TINY HOME BUILDS .I got through 9 mins and was like wait is he a little person ? lol when he started doing pull ups
Tiny ppl building tiny homes ✨
It looks nice. I’m not even a handyman but I can tell you the foundation is not safe. There is a reason you dig. I had a deck with those, just a deck, not even a gym, and it collapsed and was so unsteady
Unless you live in a place where frost heaving is a consistent issue then his foundation will be fine. Have built and seen plenty of decks on block foundation and they are as good as when they were constructed.
But why did it collapse? People build foundations like this in the Alaskan bush and they last 50 years plus. I'm just really curious what went wrong.
@pressureflipin1992 maybe they built on soft topsoil?
@@mikerooney7600 almost had to be
I would agree sonotube/concrete…I would rather be safe than sorry or at the very least put a nice layer of gravel under those blocks
Clicked for the build. Stayed for the dumpy.
😂
Frfr
yes it was glorious! LOL
PS-GOOD CHOICE OF BACKGROUND MUSIC-Not overly offensive or loud drowning you out or rupturing the viewers eardrums & highlights inspiration and completions!!👍👍
This was fascinating to watch, even inspiring for someone like me who has no practical knowledge about construction. Thanks for sharing :)
Baby girl had cake fr 😂
Yessir! The tiny house isn’t the only thing that’s well built well in this video! My guy knows how to pick em. Nice looking and not afraid to get her hands dirty! Bravo brother, bravo!!!
I just had to check the comments like I know I’m not alone! Lmao 😂😂😂
@Travysty3Fan same 😆, didn't see none so I felt it was only right to acknowledge 🫡
I noticed the same thing. Lawwwd.

100% my favorite comment of all time. 👊
@@buildersblueprint Mine too from this day on. 😉🙏♥️👊
I've always lived my life the hard way. I've been off grid since 2006. My home is a 25' 1976 Chevy Sportscoach motorhome.
The more I look at your Finished Project I think its sharp as heck. Great choices especially on Siding/Trim.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Be proud...amazing work!!!
Concreted posts for deck but sat the building on blocks.
im curious will his main structure settle or sink into the ground ? I dont know much about building so i was wondering
I am allowed to build the shed in my county without a permit, as long as it’s built on a sled or blocks. Nothing into the ground. Might be a code issue where he is?
Beautiful finished product. Could have been just 3-4’ wider to accommodate the equipment. That said your work was outstanding.
Agreed, not much room at all for loading or unloading plates
A gym with a view! Fabulous 🎉
Nice work, tremendous job, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
Love the idea, my only concern is the orientation of the multitrack, not a ton of room for the barbell
My thoughts exactly. Literally no room to work with to load and unload plates without being awkwardly positioned. Probably realized it when they put together the machine, which by then was too late to do anything about it.
I'm fairly confused by a home structure set up on $10 blocks plopped directly onto unprepped soil, that's surrounded by a deck that has concrete post footers.
To be fair, this isn't exactly a structure as big or nearly as heavy as a house would be. If the soil wasn't touched at the top layer when their home was being built originally, the soil below will be packed well enough to be able to support a building this size. The framework they set up for it should hold for as long as they own the place, if not longer.
However, if the soil was moved around a lot while their original home was being built, they're going to be in for a bad time in the long term.
Because it's a shed, not a home.
@@metal_mo Correct - but he did forms for the deck. If you're going to dig and pour concrete forms for a tiny deck, why not do it for your structure?
@@JB2X-Z Yup, no need for crazy footings for a structure that small. Poured footings are overkill.
Footings would have helped it not become a really big kite in 60-70mph winds which are not uncommon in thunderstorms.
Watching this video, now I feel like I am capable of building a shed too. Very detailed. Nice !
I'd love to build this in my backyard too. Great video.
This would have been my man cave lol
Was mesmerized by that Gyatt 😢...keep her in your vids you'll get tons of views 😅
Nice build!!!!! You did AWESOME!!!!!!
Glad you put that pine on there, was wondering what you were going to do with the edges looks outfreakinstandin
What power source are you using to light the house?. Is it coming from the main house?
Yes, we hired a professional electrician to come wire it up to my home electrical panel
If you need a private chef, I'll take the tiny home/fitness room as payment to live in. Lol
That actually sounds pretty appealing
Amazing skill,and determination!
I need this for all my crafting hoard
It’s cute, but I feel like all that work and money just for it to hold one piece of gym equipment… seems a little bit wasted.
I agree. I feel like a small home office might have been a better use of the space.
well, if not there than it is stuck being in the house..
i cant imagine what else he needs. he can run outside, he has his weights and a big enough area to lift weights... what else does he need to add to get the "gym"?
To show others how to do it
Okay Karen. And this guy thinks the amount you spend on smokes and donuts are a bit of a waste.
Sucks the city wouldn't let you use the tiny home for short term rental. Good on you guys for turning it into a home gym. I would love to build something like this in my backyard and set it up as a home gym as well.
I love how the video just starts. Straight to the point.❤
Thanks more videos coming soon ❤️
Very clean work my dude. I learned a helluva lot from watching.
Glad you enjoyed it homie. ✌️
Very nice space! But is it a bit of a squeeze to load plates onto the bar?
That bar is going through the wall atleast once in the first month
Bar appears to be a Smith Style bar. Will only go directly up and down on a rail. Loading plates is probably a bit challenging but no wall impacts from the bar.
@@RescueResidence There are J hooks and safety catches on the front for a regular bar. Yes, I would have built this at least 10-12 feet wide.
Another graduate from TH-cam university 🏆
nice. makes me want to start building stuff
Thanks for watching. New video coming in the next week or so. ✌️
Grate job even the kiddo and pops got involved this was dope
I would have done a video production studio for TH-cam and other projects.
This is not a bad idea,
Seems like a lot of work for 1 piece of equipment. I'd just put it in my basement. The house looks like it has one. I would make it an office, or guest "house". Awesome build though!
Definitely a masterpiece; brilliant team work!
teamwork makes the dream work ! u guys are awesome. it looks great 🙌🏻
