You could really see the absolute effort the staffs pulled for creating this game. The gameplan, gestures, the settings, and the more aggressiveness of the bosses when they hit their quarter life amount.
Is a beautiful game but also a pain cuz is not so funny to play, especially for the batwing stage. In general is like if everything was designed to hit ur character except the heart items xD

The Joker's method of calling his attacks through taunts and arm gestures is actually pretty novel. Usually characters using machines or the like aren't animated too much. Each one has a specific attack associated with it, and the motions also give it away to a degree.
The claw in Harley Quinn's fight is really impressive considering that its segments are just static sprites, but because of how they shift, it really does look like it's getting darker in the background and lighter in the foreground just by hiding/exposing the light and dark sections.

You should not forget, that the Mega Drive also has basic row and column shifting capabilities. Tilting could be done in Hardware using that mechanism and this game seems to have used that a lot. But yeah the rest seems to be pure software magic. In this matter this game is a master piece. But i really hate the difficulty.
Few players knew that, but here I tell it: at 12:35, attack the top hat (the smaller one, which falls to the floor) to destroy it, there's a 1UP icon inside it.
I saw that this video was 16 minutes long and my heart sank because I figured I'd never come anywhere near that time on my original cart and hardware setup in a run. Then I saw that it was ONLY bosses... 😅 This is easily the most underrated contra-(cough) Batman game on the Genesis and possibly of the entire 16 bit era. Truly a classic.

This version of batman is beautiful in so many levels, the graphics even though it's simple but it was more progressive, the story line and the music omg it is the most beautiful if I may say. I am 40 years old now but if I came across this version I would play it forever 😄

Graphics and animation are surprisingly good but what really impresses me is the music. It doesn't fit the cartoon at all but it totally fits the genesis. But it's kind of unbelievably quality.
I wish Sega would release this game on new consoles, just add a easy mode with some more continues and 1 up's and a classic mode for those of us who are able to finish this masterpiece.
I think there's another. If I remember right, in the first part of the Mad Hatter segment, right before the boss fight against the Cheshire Cat, you have to fight a giant doll or something similar (It looked like a giant version of those dolls the Hatter launches out of the big hat during his own boss fight).

Ah. The golden age of gaming when most bosses didn't have a health bar so you really had no idea how much health they had left. You just had to keep fighting and hope they were almost defeated.
Good job playing the game. A lot of people complain that this game is hard because they're used to playing stupid easy to win games. This video proves with the right strategy you can enjoy and defeat this game. Back in the day I used to have one game at the time because I didn't have a lot of money as a kid and having a game that it was hard to play it was more enjoyable because I get to play the game for longer and learn how to defeat it. And once you beat the game you get a bigger sense of accomplishment and this is why I love the Sega Genesis
The 16 bits era was really Magical. More than adversaries for me The SNES and Genesis was completely complementary. The Genesis had th better Run and Gun, Shoot'em ups and Beat'em ups and the Snes just had some RPGS that became Cult Classic. +Shadowserg you earned a suscriber cause i think you're the god of gaming

One thing that doesn't get mentioned a lot is that this game was also co-op. So much fun teaming up with a friend. Such a hard game for a kid though, never made it two-face.

Jechtaeon Cuphead IS pretty difficult... If you're trying to beat the game on your first try. I noticed that Cuphead has some really exploitable boss AI, which can be memorised. If they were a bit more unpredictable, it would really improve the difficulty.
@@Cinko420 You know what other masterpiece of a game is very difficult? Sonic Unleashed. I could go on for ages about the drift button not working like it should, Sonic being very slippery when he goes too fast, the boost formula, quick time events, the homing attack button being mapped into the same button as the boost button, grinding for more experience, the many ways the game punishes you for not paying attention to your surroundings, and the vast amount of bottomless pits in that game. The shocking thing here is that this is my third favorite game of all time right next to the likes of Persona 4 and my most favorite game ever Super Mario Galaxy which are both difficult games in their own right with the wii's motion controls and the RPG mechanics of Persona 4. My point is that Sometimes some of your most favorite games ever could also be the most difficult and most punishing games in the world.
That is exactly why I love this game, the long levels made it feel worth while. The only level I was not fond of was the Madhatter one with the bomb rabbits and those pesky little star robot thingys.

The complete fight against that jumping robot(the full fight wasnt shown here) is the hardest in that game. Especially with that background robot attack.
Great game, loved it, loved the soundtrack, most of the boss fights, all of it. But can I say how compared to other boss fights like the joker, two-face, the mad hatter and several other mini bosses, Mr Freeze's final boss fight felt kind of underwhelming, just a static screen at the end and flying around avoiding freeze orbs, just felt like a disappointing final fight. They could have done so much more for it.

I would buy this game even today. The OST, graphics, and mechanics are amazing.

I could go on for ages about the drift button not working like it should, Sonic being very slippery when he goes too fast, the boost formula, quick time events, the homing attack button being mapped into the same button as the boost button, grinding for more experience, the many ways the game punishes you for not paying attention to your surroundings, and the vast amount of bottomless pits in that game. The shocking thing here is that this is my third favorite game of all time right next to the likes of Persona 4 and my most favorite game ever Super Mario Galaxy which are both difficult games in their own right with the wii's motion controls and the RPG mechanics of Persona 4. My point is that Sometimes some of your most favorite games ever could also be the most difficult and most punishing games in the world.

If only the levels were as well-designed as the bosses. As good as this game is a lot of the levels go on for waaaaay too long
Especially when you have to fight that blimp in the second level.
That is exactly why I love this game, the long levels made it feel worth while. The only level I was not fond of was the Madhatter one with the bomb rabbits and those pesky little star robot thingys.

Jersey Devil that gnome thing is one of the Tweedle brothers in robot form.
The complete fight against that jumping robot(the full fight wasnt shown here) is the hardest in that game. Especially with that background robot attack.
Great game, loved it, loved the soundtrack, most of the boss fights, all of it.
But can I say how compared to other boss fights like the joker, two-face, the mad hatter and several other mini bosses, Mr Freeze's final boss fight felt kind of underwhelming, just a static screen at the end and flying around avoiding freeze orbs, just felt like a disappointing final fight. They could have done so much more for it.
