Windows 10 - Enable The Built-in Administrator Account

By default Windows 10 comes with a pre-installed administrator account, but for security purposes its disabled.
To enable the Windows 10 administrator account do the following: Run command prompt as admin and enter the following commands
net user administrator /active:yes
Create a password:
net user administrator *
Here is the command to disable it:

My account has been disabled on Windows 10 I can't even get into my pc at all. I only have one account on the and there's no power butting showing at the bottom in order to get into safe mode

User Account Control won't allow me to use Command Prompt (Admin), only Command Prompt. With that I can get to the net user screen and see that the default administrator acct is inactive, but I can't activate it with the command you gave. I can't get past User

Actually administrator and local user who is an administrator he also disabled and currently any local user does not have administrator authority means system doesn't have administrator all are local users and no one can perform any admin activity. What should I do?

Vishwanath Cv instead of this: I would use a USB drive, Ultimate Boot CD and a program called Rufus. Use Rufus to burn UBCD to the USB on another PC. Then insert the UBCD drive into the PC you want to log into. Google “-your computer manufacturer here- bios key” and it will show you how to open the bios. Once in the bios menu, Select the USB you used and let it boot. You will see several options come up you’re going to select Parted Magic. Then after that loads, go to pcloginnow or something similar and click your pc. Then click the administrator account and check the box to make the password empty and check the box to enable that account.
Click next>restart computer>login as admin. Boom

If you don't see command prompt as admin try typing cmd in the search bar right click and select run as administrator.

sir i have two account first admin or second amarsh both are password protected just im in amarsh user and want to remove password of admin and login to admin user and appart of removing password of admin by mistake i"ll disable admin from local user group and just come log out from the admin user so sir please give me solution to log in or enable admin
When I right click on Start button, there is no Command Prompt option. This option is under Windows System on my computer, and then it has no Command Prompt Administrator option.
It's called windows PowerShell
click the start button, type cmd, right click, and press run as administrator, then press yes

I don't see command prompt when I right click on start, I so see Power Shell (admin). Is that the same thing?
You can type cmd into the search bar to bring up the Command Prompt, and then right click it and hit Run as administrator

Everytime you turn on your pc, turn it off when the windows logo shows up. Do it 3 times, at the 3 time it will tell you that it's loading recovery options. 😊

So!! Does this mean I can now access my storage hard drive I could not access?
(What I mean!! I took my old HD and put it in my new second hand computer and was unable to access drive folders and files)

If you signed in on the administrator account and disable it then you can't get it back... however if you reset windows 10 (and remove personal files) you might get it back
try resetting the pc it may/may not work if it doesn't then I don't know what to say but it worked on my pc

When you are Administrator Accountleave it alone do not mess with this at or you could end up in right mess with you pc

Did you run CMD as an admin?
You actually have to be logged on with an account that has administrative privileges, or you'll get error 5. Then if you have admin rights you can just go to computer management and do it.

FIX: Use Safe mode
So if your acc got fucked the FIX is: open cmd prompt in safe mode and use create acc and make administrator commands there. Or maybe just simple safe mode and acc edit through control panel (haven't tested this). New acc may load for longer than usual, mine did, i thought it was stuck.
After that if you want to regain your old acc, use his video to reset everything as it was before problems cured. Set acc rights to admin (not other, mine was set to other Sophos antivirus).

I cannot get the command prompt to even come up in the menu.
Hit the windows icon to open your application menu, then just start typing "cmd..." The command prompt app will appear and you can then right-click it to select 'open as administrator'.

If you are speaking of the command prompt mine didn't show when I right clicked so I typed command prompt in the search next to the window icon and then right clicked on the command prompt and clicked run as administrator.
