    You can boil water for 15-20mins to remove chlorine in a pinch. However I dont reccomend it unless you know what is in your water. Your local water treatment plant might use chloramine instead of chlorine which can only be neutralized with a dechlorinator. Just make it easy on yourself and use a dechlorinator.
    Also, those poor goldfish were definitely in shock. They weren't hungry at all. 😢

      @dsdragonspawn ปีที่แล้ว

      For chloramine, you can also use a bubbler to break it down and remove it from the water. However, I recommend at least 24-48 hours per gallon or so a 5 gallon bucket can take a week or more to fully remove the chloramine

    For the boiled-water-in-freezer Thing, the idea is to have sterilized water for your fish tank. I forgot what was said exactly, but supposedly placing boiled water instantly in the freezer gives you a more steriled water solution than simply boiling it. Though it may be a good way to get rid of pathogens and the such (as well as kill your fridge/freezer), it doesn't eliminate certain minerals or other components from the water that could still harm the fish.

    Dear God that "cleaning" maybe the boiling made the chlorine evaporate faster. Might be an interesting research experiment. Most likely, it was done to "sanitize" the water though. Just God.
    Favorite boardgame is either Mancala or pente. Mancala is just super relaxing with sound, smell, sight and touch forming this kinda zen mode. Pente is like a cross between tic tac toe and go.

      Its called survivor bias.
      Those people kill a lot of fish, and once in a million they get a fish or two that are naturally very resilient.
      They dont think that its them that killed the fish so they dont remember/speak about the whole fish graveyard they could populate, they just think they are brilliant fishkeepers. You dont see millions of fish that died, they are not there.

    I am so glad I found this channel. Every aquarium and fish keeper community I found so far is either the most elitist aqua scaper group, which's members almost spit on another person if they find out no co2, or top best fertilizer in the tank, or dare to put in anything bigger than a cherry shrimp or endler guppy in the tank, because that needs extra work and calculations in nutrients, or the ones who believe good fish keepers are the ones who export their fancy expensive huge fishes and seeing a tank they instantly size up what is the biggest fish they can shove into.
    Here I hear what I always believed was right. Best is the natural, with wood and stone and living plant, and trying to keep everything as natural and balanced as possible. Big tank means more small schooling fish, and more space for them. Where I live everyone believes cory fishes are for the beginners and the lazy, because hard to kill and clean up the "real" decorative fishes. To hell with those, corys are the best. They are cute, and have personality.

    Actually boiling the water might have removed the chlorine, but everything else is a nightmare

    Wow! I've never seen anything like that!!! Even when I was new I would have never thought of cleaning my tank this way!!! Really how are those fish alive!?

    I'm being "gifted" my aunts 3.5 gallon tank she had a betta in but passed away, last year. She hasnt emptied it since and it is about half full of water that's evaporated, fairly clear water but brown spots here and there, fake plants, 3 petrified moss balls in there, a little heater stick, a lid, LEDs and the filter looks good as its completely dried out now, how can I "fix" it? And what can I put in here? I was thinking just cherry shrimp but it is a halfcircle tank with a more vertical space than floor space so Im unsure and don't know what fish would fit or do well, and plants? I'm doing some research since i havent owned fish before but there's a lot of contradicting advice out there!

    OMG, even on my most uneducated 6 year old goldfish keeping days, I wasn't that stupid! Soap?!? I'm speechless! Then she piles a ton of fish food into that 'clean' tank. Smh..ugh.
    Rest of the video had some really nice tanks though! Ok my favorite game is, of course, GO FISH! LOL! Thanks for another cool video, always enjoyed!
