    I have a cintiq 22", but decided to buy this one even though I had the worst experience and association with huion until now (a few years ago wacom was really the best and huion was really total crap, with a fraying screen, worse colors and brightness). Now it is a much cooler tablet, much lighter, thinner than the cintiq, both in terms of features and in practice. It is nicer in every way, from the materials of the body to the speed of action.
    I am very glad I bought it. My friend listened to my surprise and decided to buy a pro 24", it's a little older, but so far the coolest of the line of display tablets. For me 16" is the best!

    They shouldve flip the orientation of the cable so that the longside is pointing inwards. I think that looks neater idk, otherwise this seem like a fantastiic looking new product from them. It looks premium. My own 13" still new - looking foward where this line will end, they seem to have listened to some of the user feedbacks.

      @@NNG_yt i think 2,5 k at 13 is overkill you'll just end up zooming it back to 1080 because at that size icon will be so small, but 2.5 would be perfect for 16 in.
      13 is pretty enough space for my arm for me if i have my app in fullscreen mostly canvas mode with only few tools visible when needed.
      Now this is personal - i myself favor larger screen [20"+ and lots of visible tools and toolbox] so the 13 is good for me but i compromise with the tools i view. Again thats because i favor having lots of tools visible and smaller screen just make icons so small hahahaa.

    The colors in this display was phenomenal, almost in the ballpark of those retina displays from Apple imacs though I kinda wish Huion would also give the same treatment to the 22 inch variants. The 16 inch segment even got the 4k treatment, so why not the 22 ones.

      @@peterdejong5456 what I mean is they should also make a 1440p variant of the 22s at least. I have the 22 plus and the colors are great although I kinda wished the resolution was a notched more higher.

    • @peterdejong5456
      @peterdejong5456 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chonkeeartist9001 I see. You already have the colour upgrade. If you require higher res then choose the 24 Plus. That offers 1440p QHD (pixel size appr 0.20 mm vs 0.25 mm on the 22 Plus). Keep in mind Apple's Retina resolution on the iPad is only slightly less than 4K on this 16 inch (pixel size appr 0.10 mm). Everyone notices FHD pixelation on pen displays at first but many get used to it. 2.5K seems to be the sweet spot as 4K introduces scaling issues and is far more costly.

    • @MakoHazard
      @MakoHazard 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Chonkeeartist9001 I've been saying the same thing. The 24 2k is slightly too big for me and if I'm getting a screen that big I'd want it to be 4k. The 22 is the perfect size for me which would still look great in 2k but for whatever reason they seem to be leaving that size in the dust. I'd love to get something bigger than my Ipad Pro but Huion basically only offers really big or small options.

    I love my Huion tablets, but their driver software is so irritatingly buggy. Things like having to go back in and reassign the working area because the pen has decided to jump to another display (and I don't have the Change Display set at all), or it crashes in the background, making the buttons to my display and KD100 non-responsive until I restart the driver software. Things like that.
    But, boy, for me, the pens are so dead-on perfect. And I love the feel of their matte surfaces, especially when using a flat nib.
    Just wish they'd fix that software. (Intel Mac, Big Sur)

    Bought and used this for 2 months now. Its a bit of hassle if your left-handed but I ended up using it as portrait mode. However be careful with using the stand with portrait mode. Leaning on it too much will push the tablet out. I would consider the 13" for portrait setup and 16" for landscape.

      @@AwjayTV Kamvas 22 uses 1920x1080p, its terrible resolution, perhaps I am spoiled. But If you are using iPad pro now and going over to 22, then you will immediately see the pixels and bad color. I am using multiple 1440p monitors, ultrawide and such. And just dread to go think about the 1080p ones. So 22 kamvas is absolute no go for me. However, the reason I recommend the 24" is because I am been using the 16" which is 1440p and feel its not enough. Also 16" is so wide and weird. for my use. Thats why I would recommend 13" for the flexibility to go portrait mode or just go all out and get the 24" which gives you a lot more screen space and focus. Huion has both 1440p 24" and 4k 24". If budget isn't the issue, then I would go for the 24" 4k resolution one. However the 24" 1440p is more value for the price.

    Hello Teoh, may I ask your opinion on the quality of the screen? I bought and returned a Huion Kanvas Pro 16 (4K) because the screen's matte layer made it look like there was very distracting color noise. Does the Kanvas Pro 16 (2.5K) have the same problem? Thanks!

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes there's colour noise introduced by the matte surface too. It's the compromise between matte surface for the textured drawing experience. The only pen display I know that has less colour noise due to the matte surface is the XP Pen 16TP which has touchscreen but the touchscreen doesn't work that well with Windows.

    Budget aside, would you go for the Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) or the Kamvas Pro 16 (4K)? Somehow the 4K version feels like a bit of an overkill for a display this size.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The visual upgrade from 1080P to 1440P is more noticeable than 1440P to 4K. In terms of pricing, 1440P is also better since it's significantly cheaper.

    I'm intrigued by the performance of this newer tablet compared to the Xp Pen Artist Pro 16 2021 which claims it has a new technology that reduces initial activation force and in general offers a better drawing experience. In your experience, is there a noticeable difference? I've been eyeing the XpPen 16 Artist Pro 16 ever since it came out, but now I'm doubting myself! Which one would you pick? (I'm not picky about the screen resolution)

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Both pen displays have minimal initial activation force. It's difficult to differentiate them as their performance are quite similar.
      Generally speaking, my recommendation is to go with the display that has higher brightness, the ports you need. If prices are not too difference, go with 1440P resolution, but otherwise 1080P are more worth the money simply because they are cheaper.

    I commented on your other video saying that I'm 99% sure about buying this and apparently there's a sale coming soon.
    But then by chance I've found out about the GAOMON PD1610 and your video on it. I'm not a big fan on paper texture and would rather have a glossier screen, and more workspace the merrier.
    The PD1610 is about 40 USD more expensive given the Huion 16 (2.5K) goes on sale very soon.

    Do you think this tablet (Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k) is worth getting over the Kamvas RDS-160 (upgraded Kamvas 16 2021 with etched glass and 140% sRGB)?
    Main difference is 1440p vs 1080p and 14ms vs 25ms response time.
    Price difference is around $200 USD more for the 2.5k ($350 vs $550 USD).
    Is the higher resolution and response time worth the price difference? My main use will be Clip Studio on Windows, and this will be my first pen display (been using regular pen tablet for years).
    Both seem like a good deal. Very hard to decide 😵‍💫! Thanks!

      @teohontech7141  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both are worth the money. So it really depends on how much you want to spend. Both displays are going to be used with 1080P workspace, but the 2.5K will have noticeably sharper image. In terms of value for money, the 1080P model provides more value simply because it's cheaper.

      The 1080p is definitely better value and I'm leaning a bit more towards it.
      The one big thing drawing me to the 2.5k is that my main desktop monitor is 1440p as well, and I wonder if I could mirror my main monitor with the tablet and work that way? I have more monitors as secondary screens (for reference art).
      Use the tablet when I need to draw, and look back at my main monitor for any keyboard/mouse tasks. Might help change posture often too? I am worried about posture and eyestrain from staring too close at a screen.
      Is that a setup that might work or not really? (haven't used pen display before)

    Hello Teoh, I really love your review. They are very informative and they are one of the most unbiased review I've seen on TH-cam.
    I'm currently hesitating between this tablet (Kamvas pro 16 (2.5k)) and the Kamvas 22 plus. I didn't find much about comparison review between both. Plus, it seems as if Huion and others are starting to make more of those 2.5K, and I'm wondering if there wouldn't be any 22'' display coming soon with 2.5k... or if one company does it already. I never used pen display before, I always drew on graphic displays. So this would be a new experience to me. I feel like the 22'' would be great for the extra drawing area but I'm concerned about the full HD, versus the 2.5K of the 16'' counterpart.
    Do you think the 22'' is really better than the 16'' for drawing in terms of drawing area, given the difference in resolution?
    Do you have any opinions on these topics? It would be of great help in figuring out my final choice. Plus, I'm sure I'm not the only one in this 2.5k (small screen) vs full HD (big screen) boat.
    Thank you!

      16 inch is a nice size to work with. I don't consider this to be small, but of course 22 will be larger. 1080P resolution still works alright on 22-inch just that you will see noticeable pixelation that's all.

I also don't wanna buy a 24, that is way too big and takes up too much desk space. I'd like a screen that can fit an A4, with just a moderate amount of extra space for the art program interfaces.

      The drawing performance of both brands is actually quite similar so just choose based on other features you like, e.g. design, buttons, goodies included.
      In terms of value for money, the cheaper one will provide more value for money. I would actually recommend XP-Pen Artist 16 (2nd gen) over the Artist 16 Pro because I don't like how the cable sticks out from that one, and also from the Huion.
      If you have more budget, the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) is good. The increase in resolution does make it more satisfying for work as all the visuals are noticeably sharper. But this is also way more expensive.

    Hi, do you know how long a pen and display tablet should last in the long term? I have the kamvas pro 16 and it has major calibration issues and it just started to have screen flashing when I open the screen. I mostly have huge issues in calibration when I put my windows setting on extended but not as much when it's on duplicate screen. I can still see the off center cursor when I draw on duplicate screen. I only had the 2018 model for 2 years (2020-2022). I was hoping to keep the one I actually have for 2 more years before getting the kamvas pro 16 2.5k at 799,99$ CAD. The 16 pro 2.5k isn't 599,99$ for me.

      Difficult to say. These should last until they physically break down. But there may be other faults also. For your situation, what happens if it’s not duplicated but just the pen display as the only display?

      @blackbird3456 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teohontech7141 If it's only on the pen display tablet, it would still ve off center. And today, my kamvas pro 13 decided to do screen flashing. I had a high suspicion that it was my tablet the problem and the screen flashing just confirmed my suspicions. I'd say that the hardware of the tablet can also break down and that's without any physical break down.

      It isnt $599 for you because that’s USD pricing. If you convert $799 CAD to USD, that’s about $640USD~

      @@我-b2t I can't convert by myself the money currency. It'd be fun if they could say the price in other currency or at least have a screen saying all the other prices in the other currency.

      You can use the magic wand selection tool instead of fill bucket. Then with the selection, use the Expand command to add 2px to the selection, then Fill

    Have anyone seen any kamvas pro 13 (2.5k) review? I'm looking and looking and cannot find any yet :/ I would like to see it before buying it cuz I heard the previous pro 13 had a lot of wobbling and I wonder if it is so major with that new pro 13 as well.

    Would it be better to by this 2.5k or is it worth the extra cost to get the 4k (16")?

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2.5K is more worth the money. The image quality improvement from 1080P to 1440P is more noticeable compared to 1440P to 4K.
