    I've got the 16" version with the 2.5K and I power it with a single cable from my Mac Mini. You may not need the additional power cable if your computer's USB-C port can give enough power.

    I recently got the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. I previously had the Kamvas Pro 20 (2019) and the main reason why I chose the 22 Plus was the new 3.0 Pen tech. The main difference that I've read and noticed was that the pen nib no longer has a springy space inside the pen, therefore the nib doesn't push inside the pen why you draw. With the old pen I found myself straining my hand why drawing due to that springy feel. Now it feels like I'm drawing with an actual pen/stylus.

    • @htsunmiku
      @htsunmiku 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wait?? Huion got rid of the springy feeling?
      ...I think I'm gonna upgrade soon 😅

    • @kirometer
      @kirometer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@htsunmiku Honestly, I'd say it's worth it. I used to intentionally not use my old huion tablet because of the constant hand cramps and with this new one including the new pen, I haven't had a single cramp yet and I use it all day everyday.

    • @BombaJead
      @BombaJead 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How does it compare to a wacom intuos pro? (I mean the pen feel/drawing experience)

    • @kirometer
      @kirometer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@BombaJead I also have a Wacom Intuos Pro as well as a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13. Compared to the old Intuos Pro pen and the Pro Pen 2, the drawing experience feels nearly identical. The only differences that I found were the lack of an eraser on the Huion pen and the fact that wacom's rubber grips have a much more premium feel than the Huion pen. Not to say that the Huion pen doesn't feel good but it's a small yet noticable difference.

    I got a Huion Kamvas 22 pro about 4 years ago and have always been really impressed with it! All my gripes with it (that I've happily lived with because of the price) - only HDMI on the back, huge shortcut keys, iffy drivers, lower res - seem to be getting fixed in the newer models. Very pumped to upgrade soon!

      @Orange Juice It definitely still works well. I use it for 3d sculpting in my day job and don't have any issues. I've used newer ones since and the general experience is much smoother, making mine feel old-ish, but when I don't think about it I don't even notice

      @@tatedottech lol nah man i suggested the bigger drawing tablet because I'm looking out for your wrist. 16 inch tablets are super big but you'll have more leeway when drawing from the shoulder to elbow than if your drawing from your wrist with a 13 inch tablet. it will absolutely improve your line quality too.
      its awkward at first, its a learned skill and not necessarily and innate one, but trust me, bigger tablet equals better wrist in the long run.
      tablets are important but you have to think about what your investing in, a tablet or a tool, if its the latter i would honestly pick a tablet that will leave you with less of a chance of injury in the long run.

    I just bought the Kanvas Pro 16. I found out if you're using the squid cable that you don't need to plug into a power adapter when you plug the USB back into your computer (which is required for data). The HDMI on the squid cable goes into the HDMI port. I have two other external monitors, so one mirrors the tablet through a splitter that plugs into my Macbookpro's USB C. Another hub that plugs into another usb C to my MBP, that one has a regular usb port which connects to the Kanvas squid cable. Ignore the power cable to the power adapter since the usb data cable will power the tablet. The usb data cable is required anyway, since the driver won't detect the tablet without it being plugged in (two birds with one stone). Hope this helps someone out there.

    I had a question for you Brad, I recently bought a Huion Kamvas Pro 13 (2.5K), but when I got it the screen's colorful noise was extremely visible, a lot more visible then I expected. In your video I don't see the grain at all since it's not super noticeable, and the Wacom 16 Pro I've seen in-person is also like this, where it's only noticeable if your eye is right next to the screen.
    I contacted Huion support and they told me it was just like that, that it was normal, but I guess in your video the camera can't fully capture it. It's a shame because I really love drawing with it and the overall build quality is stellar, but no matter how hard I try my eyes cannot get over the visible colorful noise/grain.
    Love your video though! Very informative and well-detailed!

      Dude, I'm glad I stumbled upon your comment. Like you, I was surprised when I received the package with this tablet, because I also bought this device on the advice of Brad. None of the reviews said that there is this noise on the screen and this is very bad. My eyes also get very tired from working on this tablet and I can’t work for more than 2 hours. However, it turned out only after the purchase, and I began to find reviews from other people that this noise interferes with them. And it’s not entirely clear to me whether this is a mass marriage and some part of the goods has such a strange effect? Or some people just don't notice the noise. Very disappointed with the purchase as I saved up for it for a very long time.

      What does the grain look like? Do you mean the matte anti glare screen that is causing pixelated screen? I really hate that - I put in a matte screen protector for my Samsung tablet and removed it after a day because it made drAwing difficult with the grain and I couldnt understand what Im drawing anymore

    • @TimmyChUwU
      @TimmyChUwU ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@strongerthaneverph It was multi-colored noise, where the matte screen made it so you could see the individual RGB sub pixels. I think it's because of the parallax (the distance from the screen to the glass), or maybe it's the material/process used for the pen display.

    I really thought this was an older year model of the tablet. something about the look of the buttons and the glossy side makes this device look much cheaper and lower quality compared to last year's (which I own). Kind of an off choice from Huion.

    At 2:25 you say that there is a mat screen protector. But on huions website they say it's etched glass. Is the etching just for the anti-glare effect and there is an additional screen protector on top of that, or did you mix that up and there is no protector, it's actually just the glass?
    Just a little detail I'm curious about. Otherwise great review. Really looking forward for a pro 16 2.5k review too, because I'm thinking about getting one.

    So I've got this tablet and even tho I love it I have 2 issues with it.
    1) Sometimes the pen randomly gets oversensitive and starts to click, move around and make lines without me even pressing it against the screen (removing the nib and putting it back in seems to solve it but I would like to know why it happens.)
    2) Once in a while it happens that in a particular place on the screen, the line gets crooked even tho I'm making straight lines.

      Imo 16 is a very good size! I have the Cintiq13HD and while it is very good, my hand gets in the way of some stuff easier because of the size. But there are benefits to screenless tablets too (mainly they are more ergonomic, which is better for you in the long run, don't burn your eyes from how close you are to the screen and your hand doesn't get in the way).

      @@cindyn4403 Late reply because this didnt appear in my notifs aaah but imo it's up to what ecosystem or app you want to use, or even your budget? If you already have a PC and dont care for drawing on the go, pick the Huion. If you absolutely want Procreate and dont mind using iOS, go with ipad. For Samsung Tab, there's frankly not a lot of apps, but Clip Studio is def the best for it! Samsung is what I recommend if file management and customization is your priority, or you want a portable tablet with the lowest budget :)
      So far I really like my Samsung! It works great with Clip Studio and I draw on it everyday

    Thanks for the review! Can you use these as a non-display pen tablet too? I know that sounds weird but I like to switch back and forth depending on what I'm doing and for ergonomics. I guess you could mirror the screen on a mac...not sure what to do on a PC?

    If you want to buy from a company that ignores your support requests, then Huion is for you? For the past two weeks, I have been trying to reach them. Their webpage won't let you submit a ticket because the Captcha thing doesn't work. And when you email their support email address directly, you get the "Ticket has been created" response, but nobody ever responds. I bought the Huion Q620M. It has a significant air pocket under the drawing surface, which makes it feel like you're drawing on cloth. Definite defect. I want to return or exchange it, but I can't even get a response. So I'm stuck with a tablet I paid over $100 for, because their Customer Service and Support is garbage. It's a shame, because I love my Kamvas 22 Plus. But I will never buy another Huion Product.

    • @mattr1554
      @mattr1554 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanielaRodriguez-wk6ii Yep. I just found that out. But they are still horrible. They told me that it's not a defect that the surface just wasn't attached correctly. They told me to remove it myself and reapply it. They included a video showing how to do that. The video shows a person using an exacto knife to pry the surface up from the glue. But then it shows the person applying a brand new, and completely different drawing surface to the tablet. Completely ludicrous. I am not repairing a product that I paid good money for when it was clearly their fault it arrived to me in that condition. That is like a car company telling you to fix a brand new car the day after you purchase it, because they used a part that broke and caused it not to run. I can't believe the audacity of some of these companies. If they don't make it right, I will never buy another Huion product, and I will do my worst to let everyone know how they operate their business.
