Fixing A FAILED Perrenial Ryegrass Overseed

- Late Summer, I overseeded my backyard with a perennial ryegrass overseed and had less than stellar results. For the most part, the overseed was a success but I still ended up with bare or thinned out areas in the overseeded lawn.

Cheers!
On time. I'm dealing with barespots from my overseed.
The traditional method would be preparing the soil before hand but I had grass already growing and the soil was pretty well prepared from worm castings, aeration, and dethatching, so I skipped that step. If your soil isn't prepared, take a rake and get the soil loosened a bit before seed. Other than that, seed, cover with peat or a light layer of soil and water. :)
Definitely one of the benefits of PRG is you can solve most problems in a week by throwing more seed at it.
That's always the solution lol. Bermuda going dormant? Throw prg. Bluegrass not filling in? Throw prg. Bored? Throw around some prg.
Peat moss! I couldn’t find it anywhere this year, supply chain issues. Can you ship me a bag!
Peat moss is KEY for seeding dirt areas. Get out there get it done!
Have you tried getting lows to ship it? We have plenty around here. And ya, if your serious hit me up on the insta and we can arrange it. Lol
@@MatsDawson Didn’t think of that. I’m done overseeding now. Used lawn soil where cover was required. 😊
Looking good! Where did you get the seed?
I got it from my local lawn supply company, al Joe's. They have some decent stuff for the most part. They don't really have elite stuff but it's much better than the big box places.
Please post an update
I wish I could share a picture now. My yard is flooding. Seeded 5 days ago. Yikes.
stripes with bald spots, ummmm, not sweet!
