    Thank you for the nice clear explanation. I’ve been searching for what is the best glue for something that’s laminated and then you’re going to carve it.

    Sorry if dumb question. Is xps and extruded foam different? What was it being used here? Cheers

    Seems like a hot wire foam cutter and a sure-form rasp would be really helpful here…

      Steven Harris They definitely are, depending! I prefer the speed of rough cuts to form with the handsaw to the hot wire cutter, but getting an even, planed edge, a wire cutter rigged up a bit like a scrollsaw is super effective.

    Wow...don't think I've ever seen a video with ZERO dislikes...I mean...there's always a couple of boneheads out there right? Nice job!

    Great video! Really like the fact that you show the actual work in real time!
    Would it be wise to make armor out of this foam? I'm assuming this doesnt heat up as well as eva foam ^^;

      ChetChat It *definitely* doesn't take heat well (melts nearly immediately), and works a bit better for props than armor due to its rigid nature. That being said, if you have a a rigid piece *on* your armor, like a spike, XPS can work fantastically there!
