Thank you so much! I'm a cosplay noob and and wanted to build a sword out of insulating foam, but I totally ruined it and was too afraid to work with it again :/ but I will definitely try it again on my next cosplay!
when I worked with it for the first time I also messed up ^^' but in general insulation foam is such a nice material for cosplay and I wish you best of luck for you're next projects! ♡
so helpful! I’m not doing cosplay but doing a craft project on foam but this is the best instruction / test video I’ve seen on which materials work together the best
thank you so much for making this video!! im wanting to work with insulation foam for a big prop but everything I saw was to cover it with worbla so this is great!
Super cool video!! So informative! Loved seeing all the different reactions of the foam! Favourite Parts of the video: 1. No-face puppet peering over your shoulder, ready to mess anybody up who dares defy you..!! 2. CONFETTI (tiny trash!!) 3. Googly eyes~ :3 4. You ;)
Confetti is life!! haha xD I can't remember for which birthday I bought that but don't worry, I have still enough for next year ;D but no-face pupped has a face :o maybe I should glue on some googly eyes to make it more 'visible', haha
Hi i found an alternative to a heat gun when you want to bend thin sheets of insulation foam.... A hair dryer. I recently made a I.f face mask. UHU glue other than styropor melts foam too
Nice Vid & informative especially for Beginners! Abbo +thumbs up and ring the bell ^^
Aww vielen lieben Dank!
Thank you for posting this.. I'm trying to build a diorama more than cosplay but the insulation foam looks ideal.. I've got PVA wood glue and acrylic paints they were pretty inexpensive.. 😍
Hi! You are very talented! And very informative, thank you. Can you recommend to foam I can use to make really long (4 to 9 feet), thick (1/2”) or so drips down a wall.?
No, it's called Worbla. This is a thermoplastic material that you can heat up with a heat gun and then bring in any shape you want. Many cosplayers like to use it for there armors or to cover there props in it for more stability, but sadly it's much more expensive than Eva Foam :/
Hello, love the video, hopefully in a few months I’ll be making my first prop and was wondering if you know what the best way to glue sheets of eva foam to xps so that I can cover it instead of worbla?
Thank you for the video. I was wondering how I might create a support for a longer sword prop that's about 185cm? When doing it in the past with just foam the handle breaks off
I always use two sheets of insulation foam and cut out a small piece in the middle (on both sheets) to glue in a PVC pipe. The pipe needs to be long enough to fit into the sword and be the handle at the same time. This will distribute the weight better and the sword will not break as easily :)
The Styrofoam glue in the video is an XPS/EPS glue. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't mention it, but thanks for pointing it out! and thanks also for the tip about the epoxy glue!

Thank you so much! I love comparison videos instead of the "just buy this super expensive glue/primer cause it works"! You saved me money, thanks :)
Thank you so much!

Great Video. After seeing Lighting Cosplay´s MhW Sword of Foam , this looks like a great Alternative for people with a tighter budget.
I saw her tutorial, her greatsword is so awesome!
and I totally agree with you, insulation foam would be a great alternative ^^

Also, love your videos!!

What is the material called that she talks about at 6:00? The black stuff? Is it foam sheets?

@@FatUnicornCosplay oooooh! Great explanation ☺️ thank u!
Hello, love the video, hopefully in a few months I’ll be making my first prop and was wondering if you know what the best way to glue sheets of eva foam to xps so that I can cover it instead of worbla?
I used the styrofoam glue for this and it worked very well :)
Very nice video!!
Is it possible to use pvc glue like they use for plumbing tubing?
Thank you for the video. I was wondering how I might create a support for a longer sword prop that's about 185cm? When doing it in the past with just foam the handle breaks off

This will distribute the weight better and the sword will not break as easily :)
Is it possible to use epoxy glue to coat the foam?
this will probably not get answered but how does eva foam compare to insulation foam for making props like this? is one better than the other?
In welchen Baumarkt kaufst du deinen Schaumstoff?
am gonna carve a head for a pink candy boat, very helpful
New sub!!
And you are not fat by the way. Nor are you a unicorn. LOL.
I was reading a really long grateful comment but this has been erased :(
So, I'm just going to say THANKS FOR MAKE THIS VIDEO
Should've whatched this before glueing my foam. Now it's hollow inside xD
Best glue for it is a special glue for XPS foam (not Styropor) or epoxy glue
Thank me later 🫶
The Styrofoam glue in the video is an XPS/EPS glue.
Honestly, I don't know why I didn't mention it, but thanks for pointing it out!
and thanks also for the tip about the epoxy glue!
your english needs a little step up but your work looks amazing and the advices are superb. well done. and the video is nice as well ^^
