Thank you so much for mentioning the "Metal Cutter Saw!" I couldn't find thinner sheets of Pink Insulation foam(The Home Depot near me only carries 1-1.5 inch PI), and it was really hard to get a rough cut. A part of a box cutter broke off(And almost stabbed me) probably because the Pink Insulation was too tough, so it's nice to know an alternative. Thanks again!
Thanks! I loved this im dying trying to cover a 4 ft sword in worbla and its my first go. Probably shouldn't have gone so big haha. But this is exactly what I was looking for. Because most how too's are with the Eva foam not the pink foam :D
This video really helped me a lot! Thank you so much. I'm going to start making Zarya's cosplay. I have a question: did you use both XPS and worbla for the gun? Thanks ^^
thanks, this helps a much to get more comfortable with isulation foam. Can you tell us where did you buy this? And could you make a Tutorial or a Showing video of your Kamina cos, it's so amazing *-*
+cecholeoxD Awesome to hear! And I got mine from Home Depot, but you should be able to find it at most home building supply stores. And it's not *always* pink, just usually; a blue variant is semi-common out there as well. And thank you, on Kamina! I can see if I can't put together a quick thing on the sewing bits on what I did for the cape and the like, too. :)
i know that insulation foam is fairly light, but worbla tends to make things heavy. does the weight of the prop/armor drastically change once the worbla is added to the insulation foam or is just a tiny difference? I have yet to use worbla, mainly because of price, but I am also a weak person on the arms and upper back, so I try not to make heavy props or armor that I will wear over 8+ hours.
Sorry for the delay! And it will definitely add more weight; there's a fancy graph that could be made up somehow with "increased rigidity and durability" on one axis, and "weight" on the other (smoothness and sandability could probably fit in there, as well). The reason my cannon build got *so* much heavier, was due to the sheer size and complexity, so the worbla was not only just covering massive amounts, but getting into tons of nooks and crannies, and in some areas chunks would be wrapped, and pressed together. Lots and lots of plastic. On the other hand, something like my Scissor Blade only has a single layer of Worbla on it, and even with a metal rod running through it, is still very light and sustainable while being tough. It alllll comes down on a prop by prop basis in choosing your finish, and what you want its final qualities to be.
thank you so much for the reply! this helps a lot in the deciding factor for future props. Guess this will just motivate me to just go the gym more often and work on my arms and back more. :P
When sanding insulation foam please be sure to wear a respirator (weather paper or heavy duty.) Cutting the foam is no big deal but if you inhale the sanded foam, over time you will develop brain cancer. Please mention this on your videos. All cosplayers should be aware of the health risks.
Glad to see this come out, I knew nothing about material names, what actually goes into sheets of material and then a awesome prop. Keep them coming!
+Konshu Awesome, and thank you! I'm glad it could help clear a few things up, :D

+Jechts oh ok , thanks for that i will look for it, and yep that would be very nice from you ^.^-
what material was that on 2:55 couldn't hear what you were saying
Oh, sorry about that! "Worbla". In particular, I used Black Worbla in this video (and most of the time, now). Future videos will have better audio! :P
looks like very nice material, too bad its very expensive
where do you buy this
Does anybody know how long Zarya's cannon is?
